“I could not have asked for a better photographer for my wedding than Vanessa! She was a pleasure to work with before, during, and after the big day.
When my husband and I were first assessing photographers for our wedding, Vanessa's work jumped out at us as stunning and unique, but with a classic, timeless look that suited our personalties well. (Also, she's incredibly affordable for the high quality of service you receive.) When we reached out, Vanessa was warm and communicative, and she immediately scheduled a Zoom call for us to go over what was important and unique to our wedding that we wanted to focus on. Vanessa struck the perfect balance between inquisitive, yet never overbearing. She was also incredibly flexible - we were traveling from outside the area and could not do an engagement shoot, so Vanessa offered to photograph our rehearsal dinner instead! It was a great decision that resulted in lovely casual photos with our closest family and friends.
On the day of our wedding, Vanessa and her awesome second photographer, Tara, were calm and professional, but quick to put my nervous self at ease. The two of them were incredibly astute, picking up on little details about the day that we might not have thought to focus on. For example, Vanessa gushed about a tree in bloom that was right down the street from our venue, and taking pictures in front of it resulted in some of the best shots from the day. Tara also noted that my husband was playing guitar to calm his nerves before the ceremony, and Vanessa suggested taking some "blue hour" portraits with him serenading me. This was by far one of the high points of the day and I LOVE that they highlighted what was important to us. Vanessa's attention to detail is one of those qualities that sets her apart.
Additionally, Vanessa handles situational stress with ease. During posed shots before the ceremony, we had an awkward situation with a guest, and Vanessa saw my scrunched-up face and was instantly at my side offering me multiple options for how she could deal with the situation. She single-handedly took the situation off my plate, and I knew in that moment I was in good hands.
When we got our pictures back - WOW. They are truly stunning and exactly what we were looking for in wedding pictures. Vanessa's subtle, warm, yet slightly moody editing made for some amazing shots of our day. Our pictures stand apart from all other wedding shots we've seen, in the best way possible. My only problem now is narrowing down the ones I want to print!
