I'm Maria, a hybrid (digital and film), documentary oriented wedding photographer, with an intentional, refined and easygoing approach, serving NY, CT, NJ, PA and destination weddings and elopements. Everybody is welcome in front of my camera. In the 12 years I've been photographing weddings, I've photographed all kinds of couples, and the one thing they do have in common is they want to enjoy their celebration as much as possible, actually eat the hors d'oeuvre they took the time to choose, and don't want any awkward, stiff portraits that take too long and don't feel like them. I genuinely care about the couples I photograph (and the people they choose to celebrate with). It's been 12 years and I still get nervous on wedding mornings, because photographing weddings is a big deal. I still write every single email you get from me (typos and all), edit all the photos, and mail all the film to the lab myself, and I do everything I can to be helpful along the way.

Amazing Photography Experience
Maria, and her husband, were the perfect photographers for my vow renewal with my husband. The entire process, from beginning to end, was seamless and easy. When I was looking at photographers to book for our event, I looked at many possibilities and websites, but Maria's page was the only one that featured a same-sex couple, which instantly made me feel comfortable. Then after speaking to her, we meshed well and I knew she would be able to capture the essence of the day. During the event itself, Maria and her husband were very comforting and kind. They were very professional but also flexible and able to get the job done while allowing us and our guests to have fun during the process. They were there to guide the photography of the day without adding pressure. To top it off, the photos all came out amazing and were so beautiful!! My husband and I loved working with Maria Silva-Goyo Photography and would recommend them to anyone in need of a kind, flexible yet very professional photographer.

Choosing Maria to photograph our wedding was one of the best choices we made. We know what it’s like to search through a ton of photographers and reviews, so if you’re reading this, we highly recommend her work! We had a micro wedding and having her and Scott there during our day felt like an extension of our group. For such an intimate event, it felt so natural to have them there. They’re extremely personable and made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. It was so fun to work with them. The photography was focused on us having the day and timeline we wanted. Maria was communicative throughout our planning process and so helpful in thinking about our timeline, shot list, etc. From the first moment we met to our wedding day, we were so excited to work together. Maria and Scott are absolutely everything you could want from your wedding photographer!! Aside from their photos turning out gorgeous, it is a pleasure working with them throughout the whole process. When we were looking for a photographer, we wanted a balance of being present and enjoying our day while still feeling like all the important moments were captured, and that’s exactly what we got! It’s so nice looking back at our photos and feeling like they really captured it all, formal and candid. From first contact, to wedding day, to receiving our photos, each step was stress free. Truly in love with our photographers!
We could not have asked for a better team of photographers for our wedding day. Maria and Scott were easy to work with from the beginning, and we felt very comfortable leading up to the wedding day.
