My husband is Dominican and I am from New England, and therefore we were looking for a bilingual band that could play a very wide range of music - from American wedding classics, to Pop, to Reggaeton, to Merengue, to Bachata — and a group that could MC the evening in Spanish and English, and bring the energy to keep the party going. We went with Hook Club’s 7 piece DJ Band, and they were above and beyond fantastic. They curated a setlist that somehow, despite the wide range of music, flowed together and was cohesive. I can’t express enough how talented they are vocally, instrumentally, professionally, and as performers. The dance floor was absolutely lit; even my brother who was on crutches and had a torn labrum couldn’t stay away. It makes me tear up thinking about how much energy, positivity, and happiness they brought to our night — they will always have a special place in our hearts. They are also true professionals - the planning process was easy, they were prompt in all communication, and on the day of they handled venue-related hiccups with grace. They were the first vendor to arrive to ensure a thorough set up, and the last to leave. They are truly such a special, one of a kind group, and I cannot recommend them enough. Of all the many decisions we made in planning our wedding, choosing THC was by far the best decision of them all. Although our wedding was back in August; our friends and family are still talking about The Hook Club, exlusively referring to them as “ the best wedding band they have ever heard before”. “Now for the details: Brandon, Kellie, Elmer, and Becky were excellent to work with. They were communicative throughout the entire process and even sent monthly checklists to ensure the wedding planning timeline was ironed out and reminded you of the small details that most folks forget about. It’s the little things like these emails that went above and beyond to make sure our evening went as smoothly as possible. Our DJ, Elmer, was very enthusiastic despite challenges at the beginning of the event – the venue coordinator was very combative with him during set-up – and he didn’t let it affect the energy of the evening. (We didn’t find out until after the wedding date from our other vendors setting up and we had to reach out and ask about it because he didn’t want us to worry at all). He provided a high energy level and hits for dancing the whole evening and stuck to our favorite music vibes. Our photo booth operator, Becky, pulled us aside to take photos in the booth and thank goodness she did because we didn’t get the chance to go in before or after she pulled us aside. She put our guestbook together throughout the evening and it was fun to have something that captured our night to look through the next morning. Signature DJs was reasonably priced considering everything we received - music for ceremony & reception, mics, uplighting for dance floor, photo booth with guest book, monogram, and bubble exit complete with 2 bubble machines and bubbles for individual guests.
