My name is Ashton. I’m drawn to the things that can’t be recreated: a glance across a crowded room, a hand held a little tighter, the feeling of knowing your life is about to change. My work is rooted in documenting those moments as they unfold, without performance or pretense. I believe the most meaningful photographs are the ones that feel honest. The ones that transport you back not just to how it looked, but to how it felt. Through a blend of documentary storytelling and refined imagery, I create photographs that become part of your history. Artifacts of love, connection, and the people who made it all matter.

Awarded Best of Zola
I would recommend ashton to capture my most precious moments as she truly has an eye for a great shot.

Awarded Best of Zola
Andy was amazing during the entire process to ensure the big day would be memorable. We always wanted to elope and are very active hikers. After seeing his photos, we knew we wanted work with him. We are from the NYC area and he took the time go over what locations would be ideal and suggested great vendors to work with. In the lead up to the wedding, he made a timeline of how the day would go. On the day of the wedding, he made my wife and I feel so comfortable and relaxed during the entire day and helped make this experience truly memorable. The pictures were spectacular. He captured the entire day (getting ready, first look, hike up the mountain, and ceremony) and truly made the day unforgettable. Overall Andy was caring, professional, talented, and truly a pleasure to work with.

Erin did a spectacular job capturing every aspect of our wedding! She was able to find the perfect moments and highlight them with true mastery. If there was a good angle, Erin had already found it and made sure it was flawless! Our favorite photos included places she suggested and even some special surprises that we didn't know about, like the positioning of our rings and candid family moments. Erin was so easy to work with and really made capturing this time as fun as possible. She was able to take a mountain of photos and make each and every one shine. Hey there! John & Amy here, the husband and wife team behind the cameras. We’re both adventurers, daydreamers, and you guessed it wildly in love. Fun fact, we’re actually highschool sweethearts and have been together for 10+ years. We are currently based in NC and are transitioning to WA in 2022. We love to travel and are down to adventure throughout the US & Beyond. We both have a heart for exploration and love working with couples who share this adventurous spirit. Genuine smiles, hearty laughs, spontaneous adventures, that’s what we’re all about.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are over the moon with our photos and videos from Amy and John. The quality is incredible, and the quantity is unbelievable. They delivered an incredible amount of photos so quickly, and our friends and family have commented several times that it looks like our wedding was featured in a magazine spread because the quality is so impressive. We’ve been looking through them nonstop, and every time we see some new gem. They captured so many big and small moments throughout the weekend. It is incredible that they were able to capture so much without us or our guests feeling like there were cameras everywhere. They blended seamlessly, and it truly felt like we were just hanging out with them all day. They were so kind and lovely to work with and directed us beautifully, while allowing us to be ourselves and capturing genuine and authentic moments. They both brought such a calm presence. We can’t believe they captured so much content and so many angles when we don’t even remember them doing that - we mostly remember them being by our sides and talking and laughing with us. So many of our guests have said similar things. They truly impressed everyone and have given us so many incredible photos and videos to remember the weekend. Hiring them was such a great decision. We would 100% do it again and recommend them wholeheartedly.

If we could give more than 5 stars to Michael, we would. Michael is an amazing photographer and beyond that just a genuine amazing human being. When we first started looking for a photographer, we both went into it knowing that we are both incredibly awkward people when asked to pose. With this in mind, we started the big search - the one that everyone reminds you that will tell your stories for years. Enter finding Michael - his website mentioned candidness, and a documentary type of style. Two things that immediately caught our eye - not to mention looking through his previous work- which is just unbelievable! Throughout the year leading up to the wedding, Michael was incredibly helpful. He answered any questions we had and offered super helpful suggestions when figuring out the flow of the day. One tidbit that I would recommend to any bride is work with your photographer to create that timeline - a tidbit from Michael. He also managed to have a blog post for every type of question I had (and I had a lot LOL). A few weeks prior to the wedding, Michael met with us via zoom to go over the different elements of our days and to go over our family list (which was insanely helpful day of because we were able to knock those out)! When our wedding day arrived, he was there early to get everything set up and his presence just put everyone at ease. It felt like someone who had been part of our family friends rather than a wedding vendor - which was another element that was important to us: good vibes! Our wedding day and the pictures felt just like us - entertaining and full of laughter. We hiked through some trails for our first look, walked along a highway, and climbed rocks- which lead to nothing but new memories and lots of giggles. We both were really nervous about taking the posed pics but Michael put us in our natural element and just focused on capturing our story, which was a trend all throughout the day. None of us will ever forget the fact we forgot to tell him we had a 6 foot hoagie at the ceremony. We also had a blast using bubble guns for a photo op fake exit and learned there is such a thing as too many bubbles! Within a day after the wedding, we had a sneak peek - and we generally could not believe how AMAZING our photos turned out. It’s still surreal that we could look that good in photos, he captured exactly what we were hoping -us having the time of our life and starting our life together as husband and wife. CANNOT RECOMMEND HIM ENOUGH! P.S. Plus how awesome is it when your vendors are so cool that they feel like friends by the end of the wedding so you have to get a selfie to commemorate the hours of planning and talking you did to make the day one of the most incredible days EVER!!!

Jessica was fantastic!! We had small outdoor wedding on a Tuesday in February with 24 guests and Jessica captured it perfectly. Prior to the wedding Jessica made sure every detail was covered and a timeline was created for a seamless day. Day of Jessica arrived on time and was ready to shoot! She was flexible, staying an extra hour to capture more of our cocktail hour and braved the cold as we had requested going to Dry Falls waterfall after the ceremony to get some shots. Our two large dogs were a part of the ceremony and Jessica was wonderful working with them prior and during the ceremony to get special shots with them! We absolutely love how all of our pictures turned out. Jessica captured our love perfectly and our day will forever be documented beautifully from her photos. Highly recommend Jessica!

Soon after Juan and Emily got married in 2018 Juan began his photography career as a light technician in LA. Juan studied journalism for his undergrad, and this is when he was gifted his first camera and his interest in photography was sparked. Emily's childhood dream was to be a photographer, and after working for years as an ICU nurse she is able to do just that alongside Juan. We are energized by the creativity that photography brings, and the light and joy we experience from meeting couples.

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot say enough good things about Juan Rodriguez Photography! Juan shot film photos alongside a digital photographer at our wedding. Juan's photos are absolutely beautiful - organic, artistic and distinct. They are some of my favorite photos from the day. The best thing about Juan though is his attitude. His positivity, calmness and proactiveness made a real difference without how I felt on my wedding day. Though our digital photographer had never met him before our wedding, she commented how much she enjoyed working with him. Many of our bridal party made similar comments. He was always looking for ways to help, whether holding bouquets or giving my veil movement outside the frame. Besides being a wonderful photographer, Juan is just the type of person you want with you on your wedding day. I can't recommend him enough.

Hi! We're Julie and Rad. We met in Vietnam in 2016, and have lived in eight countries together since then. During our time abroad we've had plenty of adventures, seen incredible wildlife, eaten a lot of wonderful food, and honed our photography skills. We also got married in 2020! Planning a wedding during a pandemic involved an unusual set of challenges. Although our guest count was a little smaller than we originally anticipated-- the day could not have been more perfect. This was made possible only because we hired and trusted the right people. We try to instill the same trust so you can enjoy your day!

Simply Amazing! We had our engagement shoot at the Biltmore estate and it was nothing short of magical. Julie was able to capture exactly what I wanted the pictures to look like. She is a joy to work with and helped us feel relaxed and at ease. I can’t stop looking at my pictures and everyone that lays eyes on them is OBSESSED! They take your pictures and capture who you are but also make it look like a beautiful piece of art. I simply cannot say enough good things!

Hi, I'm Renee Leigh, a wedding and portrait photographer based in Asheville, NC. I'm passionate about capturing real, candid moments and all of the beautiful details that make your love story unique. As a destination wedding photographer, I have the joy and experience of photographing couples all across the U.S., and I'm always ready to travel wherever your love takes you. My goal is to make you feel comfortable, confident, and truly seen on your wedding day. I look forward to creating something timeless together!

I am so pleased with my experience using Renee as our wedding photographer. She scouted out the venue ahead of time to study the landscape, lighting, and finds points of interest for the photos. She set very clear expectations and instructions for what she needed for the day. She delivered exactly the types of photos we asked for. Additionally, she was adaptable and ready for what the day brought (weather changes, fun antics with guests, moments getting ready, etc.) and used a creative approach to capture those moments in the best way. During the day I found her to be a strong ally and easy companion- very helpful, brought good energy, and was intuitive to what the groom and I needed. She was always there at the right times, yet would seamlessly float away to give us space. She felt more like a friend than a vendor. Highly recommend!

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,800

Lacey is a world-travelled photographer originally from the midwest. This is a woman and Vet owned business. Her strength is primarily about seeing- the composition, the light, the dynamics between the people she is photographing. Portraits have a lean toward that as well, with a push toward the bonds between people. By working to get clients to interact, the images made reflect the connection between individuals as well as the self.

Lacey was so easy to work with and we love the results. We did not have much time to pull together our tiny wedding (we eloped), and we were lucky to find her. She was creative, professional, and just fun to be around. Highly recommend her and her work.

  • Serves Mountain Home, NC

The Jungle Branch offers an authentic, refreshing approach to wedding photography and is paired best with folks who wish to remain present in the moments throughout one of the most important days in their lives. With an artistically stylized and candid approach, my goal is to not only tell your story in its truest form, but to encourage you to fully live your day, allowing yourself to experience the calamity of joy with your loved ones without photography feeling like a production.

Working with Mike was an absolute dream. My partner and I are not people who feel comfortable in front of a camera. Mike completely changed that - although we had never met in person before, Mike felt like an old friend. He had the utmost patience in dealing with our wild family members before we arrived and captured every moment completely perfectly. Mike was so intentional about every shot and was incredible about getting all of the nature-inspired, detail-oriented shots that I wanted. Every time I look back at my wedding album, I'm brought to joyful tears just seeing how perfectly captured every raw emotion was. At our reception, guests couldn't stop raving about how personable and easy to work with Mike was. We had a very "free-flowing" party and Mike was able to round-up everyone and get all of our needed family and friend shots - an impossible task! My partner and I just don't have enough good things to say about the entire experience, Mike as a person, and the beautiful pictures that we ended up with. I look back on our photos and know that I will forever have memories of the moody, "Pinterest-board-inspired" wedding of my dreams!

Kirsten Alexandria Photography
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Mountain Home, NC

Hey, I’m Kirsten! I’m so excited that you’re here! I’m a plant loving, adventure seeking, coffee loving, dog mom - but my favorite title is photographer. l’ll make beautiful documentary style photos so that you can relive the feelings and memories of your day forever. When you hire me, you’re hiring a photographer who has a bachelors degree in fine art photography, ten years of photography experience as well as thousands of miles of hiking experience.

We had quite the journey with Kirsten, through Helene and a venue change, but we’re so grateful we were able to keep her on as a vendor through out all the craziness! Kirsten took our engagement photos just days before Helene hit. Due to all the rain before Helene, we had to shift locations for safety, but she pivoted us to another lovely location, and waited out some rain with us mid-session to make them happen! Then, we lost our venue in the storm. We experienced a variety of responses from vendors when changes occurred as a result of Helene, and I can say that Kirsten was absolutely the most gracious, when she didn’t have to be. She got our engagement photos to us as soon as she could, even though she had to leave the state due to the storm. Flash forward to our wedding, and as of course our luck would have it, it rained again. But Kirsten handled it like a champ, and helped me feel a lot better as I watched the rain pour down on what I had envisioned to be a beautiful mountain backdrop. She figured out new creative locations to take photos, and wasn’t worried about standing in the rain herself in order to get a good shot of us. Our wedding was delayed some and then took place in a drizzle, and she and her second photographer didn’t blink at being in some rain. Afterwards, when the rain died down and I asked to get some photos outside, she was thrilled and we waded through the wet grass together. I believe it was her second photographer who caught that the most amazing sky showed up after the rain, and they ran us back out to get some incredible photos. Due to the rain delaying things, we asked if she could stay a little longer, and she was happy to do so. Kirsten sent us so many beautiful sneak peeks just days after the wedding. I couldn’t believe we got so many photos so soon. We got our full photos back this week, right on time from her contract. They’re so beautiful. She did an amazing job taking the photos and editing them. My husband and I can be a little insecure about ourselves in photos, but we are both so happy with them. She did a great job telling us what to do when needed, and then blending into the background as well. I felt really comfortable with her, and appreciated her attitude and kindness. I cannot speak highly enough of Kirsten and would recommend her to anyone!

Julianna Jade Photography
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)

  • Serves Mountain Home, NC

Hi, I’m Julianna, a photographer with a passion for moments that matter most. With over 7 years of professional experience, my style blends the timeless artistry of cinema with the authenticity of photojournalism. I document your day as it unfolds naturally, while my cinematic eye ensures every frame is worthy of a film still. My clients often say that I make them feel comfortable, that I’m more like a friend than a vendor, and that my work captures emotions they didn’t even realize they were feeling.

Julianna was the photographer I was certain I wanted to use even before I was engaged to my now husband. Once engaged, I reached out to her less than a week after the proposal. She was the first vendor we booked for our wedding and I am so beyond happy with our decision to have had her as our wedding photographer. She is SO talented and creative and does such amazing storytelling in her photography. Having our photos tell the story of our wedding day was so important to us and Julianna did such a perfect job capturing every moment and emotion perfectly and beautifully. You cannot go wrong with booking Julianna for your wedding. Aside from her talented work, she is hands down such a genuine and kind person. She made such a comfortable environment during both our engagement shoot and wedding photos, making sure we were comfortable in all of our photos and at ease. She's so easy to talk to, always understanding, and always has a positive energy. We love her so, so much & we highly recommend her!!

Here's the quick, down-and-dirty version: I've spent my entire career telling stories—first on the radio, then on TV, and then in the various media used in the communications and public relations field. Fifteen years ago, I started telling visual love stories of couples in Western North Carolina and East Tennessee. What started as doing a favor by shooting a friend's wedding, became something I wanted to pursue more wholly. So, let's tell your story. The story of you and the love of your life I can't wait to create something with you.

Mike is an incredible photographer! He went above and beyond on our wedding day and helped make it really special. He helped us feel relaxed and made us laugh a lot. The pictures are amazing and were delivered in a timely manner. 10/10 would work with Mike again. I highly recommend hiring Thornhill Photography for all your photo needs!

You might be in the early stages of planning your wedding or maybe just looking at local photographers for an elopement or engagement session. And I’m sure you are finding a whole slew of choices and maybe, are a bit overwhelmed with all the different options. So, I want to make this easy and let you know what makes me different from everyone else out there. Basically, it’s my unique photo style, professional experience, and close client relationships. I love capturing organic, spontaneous moments in beautiful backdrops and enjoy working with couples' to create their narrative and highlight their true personality.
