About Nichola Rae Photography

Nichola Rae Photography

Wedding Photographer

Wedding photographer serving North Carolina, surrounding states, and destinations worldwide. My work is rooted in a documentary approach, capturing honest emotion, intentional details, and meaningful moments while creating a seamless, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable experience.

With 8+ years of experience, I bring a calm, intuitive approach to every wedding day — anticipating moments before they happen, guiding the flow when needed, and knowing when to step back and observe. This allows me to create imagery that feels natural, intentional, and deeply meaningful, while ensuring couples feel supported from start to finish.

Typically, couples book me 6-18 months before their wedding or elopement date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame. I always suggest pinning your venue/location and date down and moving from there.
Sometimes, I’ll bring one or more assistant photographers depending on the size and length of your wedding. This is included in most packages, and our clients' choice collection featured here on my Zola page.
Not currently. I focus on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible. However, I do have wonderful videography vendors I can recommend.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 8-10 weeks after your wedding. However, I know the anticipation builds, so I do send sneak peeks within 48-72 hours following your wedding!
All final images will be edited to match my style for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful.
You can expect about 50 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
In my 8 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers I trust, so you can find the perfect replacement.
