The Jungle Branch offers an authentic, refreshing approach to wedding photography and is paired best with folks who wish to remain present in the moments throughout one of the most important days in their lives. With an artistically stylized and candid approach, my goal is to not only tell your story in its truest form, but to encourage you to fully live your day, allowing yourself to experience the calamity of joy with your loved ones without photography feeling like a production.

After photographing unities of love for over 10 years, witnessing over 300 celebrations of all kinds of backgrounds, love, cultures, creeds, and traditions - big and small, near and far - I can honestly say it never gets old, and I can't wait to photograph your story! My goal is to document your day with candid, fun, and heartfelt images that let you dive right back in time and feel like you're there in the moment all over again. With a mission to help protect disappearing rainforests around the globe, I use Jungle Branch to help support grass roots rainforest conservation in Indonesia, Peru, and Western North Carolina.

    No words describe how incredible everything was!

    Working with Mike was an absolute dream. My partner and I are not people who feel comfortable in front of a camera. Mike completely changed that - although we had never met in person before, Mike felt like an old friend. He had the utmost patience in dealing with our wild family members before we arrived and captured every moment completely perfectly. Mike was so intentional about every shot and was incredible about getting all of the nature-inspired, detail-oriented shots that I wanted. Every time I look back at my wedding album, I'm brought to joyful tears just seeing how perfectly captured every raw emotion was. At our reception, guests couldn't stop raving about how personable and easy to work with Mike was. We had a very "free-flowing" party and Mike was able to round-up everyone and get all of our needed family and friend shots - an impossible task! My partner and I just don't have enough good things to say about the entire experience, Mike as a person, and the beautiful pictures that we ended up with. I look back on our photos and know that I will forever have memories of the moody, "Pinterest-board-inspired" wedding of my dreams!

    I trust Mike completely

    I've worked along side Mike as his second photographer for two years, he is by far the most creative and innovative wedding photographer I know. He has a great attention to detail and he is quick & efficient to capture a very meaningful moment. At times he even goes out of his way to create something unique & filled with emotion. He give great cues that create natural feeling emotions & poses. He is funny, kind, calm & upholds a standard of professionalism. His editing is consistent and thoughtful. I would absolutely without a doubt trust Mike with my own wedding photography.

No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.
I prefer to work alone, and help you plan your day accordingly. I believe in less is more and quality over quantity, which also applies to the number of vendors "surrounding" you throughout the day. This allows me to focus on you and yours without the potential of other vendors in the background, and without distracting you from what's important. Consistency and understanding of my style is key. I want to give both partners the best images possible, which means I'm the one taking all the photos rather than using a part time assistant or second photographer to photograph one of the partners and their wedding party.
Couples typically book me about 6-12 months before their wedding date. But I've had folks reach out as little as 1 month before! I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Definitely. All final images will be edited for tonality, color, and black and white to fit the style of my photography and the mood each image holds.
You can expect about 50 to 100 images per hour of photographing. Please keep in mind this estimate varies depending on the flow of your day, your wedding package, number of guests, venue, and many other factors.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your full wedding photo collection online about 6-10 weeks after your wedding, with sneak peeks delivered within 2 weeks after your wedding.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
In my 10 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my trusted colleagues if possible. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
Yes! I use a really fun, simple, self-operated booth that creates gif images of your and your guests, delivered right to your phone for easy sharing. You also get access to an online gallery of all the gifs made so you can see all the hilarity of dance moves, weird faces, and boomers trying to figure out why the "picture" of them keeps moving.
Absolutely! Wherever you plan on joining hands, I'm there. While epic views of far off places are great, I believe the most important part about unities are the people and the feeling of the day. No matter where your celebration is, I always strive to document the story of the day in it's fullest form. From getting ready, to views of your location, to the details throughout the day, to candid and artistic portraits of you and yours, to dinner and dancing, and all the unplanned moments in between - capturing your story in a way that allows you to relive the whole day is what is what's most important to me as your photographer.
My pricing packages are more like guidelines. Everyone's celebration is different and most of my couples end up building custom packages with me to best suit their needs. I also offer discounts to couples with at least one partner working or studying in conservation fields. Additionally, because I love dogs that much, I offer a discount to couples planning on including their dog/s in the celebration day. I also offer a wedding registry. This allows friends and family to help pay for photography and print services! Some couples don't like physical gifts, some have all the crap they need, so idea of a wedding registry feels weird.
