Wilder Weddings Collective is a dedicated team of elopement and wedding photographers passionate about capturing wild love and real emotion. Based in Western North Carolina, but willing to travel anywhere, we’re leading a revolution in wedding photography, bringing the focus back on couples, their commitment, and the whole experience of the day.

While many photographers and wedding vendors get caught up in the detail and look of your wedding day, we care most about your experience. We want to cut through the chaos of the wedding industry and get back to the heart of what weddings are about; two people vowing to love, support, respect, and cherish each other for the rest of their lives.     Above & Beyond Expectations

    I cannot say enough wonderful things about working with Carolyn and Jake as our wedding photographers! From the very beginning, they were kind, professional, attentive, and incredibly easy to work with. They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, captured the most genuine moments, and somehow managed to document the entire day so beautifully without ever feeling intrusive or forced. Our photos are everything we hoped for and more. They perfectly captured the joy, emotion, details, and atmosphere of our wedding day—looking through the gallery feels like reliving the entire day all over again.
 Beyond the incredible talent, what stood out most was how calm, organized, thoughtful, and reassuring they were throughout the day and days following the wedding: My husband’s grandma (Mamaw) unexpectedly passed away just days after we got married, which means some of Mamaw’s last moments were captured on camera at the wedding. Carolyn went out of her way to hand-select every photo she took of Mamaw and send them to us as soon as she heard the news of her passing, along with the most heartfelt email extending her condolences. All that to say—they are not only incredible photographers, but the most compassionate and incredible humans as well! You will be in fantastic hands with Wilder Wedding Co!

    If I could give more than 5 stars I would!!

    From the very beginning, Carolyn and Jake went above and beyond what we ever expected from a wedding photographer. Not only did they capture the most incredible photos, but they even helped us find the perfect location to get married. Their guidance, kindness, and genuine excitement for our day made the entire experience so much less stressful. They were so fun, easygoing, and comfortable to work with. They made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera, and it honestly felt like we were spending the day with friends. Then we got our gallery… and we were absolutely blown away. The photos were even more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. They captured every emotion, every little detail, and every special moment so perfectly. If you’re looking for photographers who truly care about their couples, go above and beyond, and deliver breathtaking photos, Carolyn and Jake are your people. They exceeded every expectation we had, and we couldn’t recommend them more highly. We are so incredibly grateful for everything they did for us!

    The very best photographer!

    Carolyn was incredible to work with. From helping us finalize the timeline to helping capture our day as it unfolded, we were so glad to have worked with her. Our photos are simply stunning too! We also used Carolyn to capture our proposal and engagement shoots in the NC mountains. Highly recommend!

    Warm, welcoming & FUN!

    Carolyn and Jake were an absolute joy to work with! From the very first consultation call we had with Carolyn, we knew they were going to be the right fit for us. Capturing authentic moments during our wedding was our top priority, and they delivered tenfold. Their kindness and warmth made the whole experience super comfortable and fun! My now husband and I are kind of awkward in front of the camera, but they were able to capture this and turn it into something beautiful. We even had several wedding guests tell us how awesome they were. Not to mention, Carolyn was super communicative, organized, and punctual the whole time. We got a few sneak peek wedding photos back the DAY of our wedding, and our full album was delivered within TWO weeks! Couldn't recommend Wilder Weddings enough. I wish I could get married again just so we can work with them again!

    Wilder Weddings Collective was an absolute pleasure to work with on our wedding day. From the moment we first spoke with them, they were timely, patient and friendly in their communication, putting us at ease throughout the entire process. The quality of their work is classic, focused and of the highest caliber - Caroline, our photographer, had a warm and welcoming energy that immediately made my fiance and I feel comfortable. She was considerate in asking if there were any specific shots we wanted, and captured all the special moments of our day beautifully. If the typical elements of a traditional wedding don’t resonate with you, you’re not going to regret leaving them out of your day. In fact, when you free yourself from others’ expectations, you open yourself up to experiences that are memorable for the genuine emotions you felt—not just the ritual you performed.
There are no limits to where we will go! We’ve traveled to 20+ countries between us, and photographed epic adventure weddings in Iceland, Scotland, the UK, St. Lucia, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Hawai’i, Bermuda, Portugal, and all over the continental US. We have a destination wedding package that includes everything, so you won’t have to worry about our travel. And we’ll help you plan your adventure!
That depends on how you plan your day. All-day coverage yields about 600-800 images on average. The more guests you have or events you schedule, the more photos you’ll get, but choosing to spend the day together just you two doesn’t mean you wont get a ton of amazing images! Your gallery will be full of photos of raw emotion, epic views, tender moments, laughter, smiles, portraits, and candids.
We are a collective of wedding photographers, meaning we have several amazing teams who work together to make your day perfect. We'll pair you with the perfect photographer for your day!
We do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and we’ll send that over to them.
In my 12 years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
Our turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-6 weeks after your wedding.
Typically, couples book us about 4-12 months before their wedding date. We encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about our availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
