Crystal Productions and our DJ Rey absolutely crushed it at our wedding in September. Communication was great the entire time. During wedding planning, I was very focused on the music at the reception because I wanted it to be a big dance party, and doing away with all of those traditional (yet kinda outdated) wedding reception songs. Rey completely understood the assignment, and I literally did not leave the dancefloor all night. We got so many compliments on the music that he played, and he set the tone for everyone else to enjoy the night. Truly, everyone had a blast and I would choose Rey as a DJ ten times over.

Wild Rose Planning & Events

5.0

Kansas City, MO
  • Planner
  • Offers 4 services
  • Starts at $500

Wild Rose Planning & Events was established in 2021 by two wedding industry experts. Throughout our years in the industry, we felt there was a gap in the planning process, making it feel more like work than fun. We’re here to provide you with the experience you deserve — stress free, organized, and memorable!

Awarded Best of Zola
When my husband and I got engaged in May 2023, Wild Rose was the very first vendor I booked (I sent my inquiry the day after he proposed). As a venue owner with more than 5 years in the industry at the time, I knew that the most important, non-negotiable vendor would be our coordinator. I knew that I wanted the full planning aspect so that I could enjoy the process as a BRIDE, not from an industry or “work” perspective. Brenna and Molly had been so amazing to work with at the venue, I absolutely loved their product and knew I had to have them do my wedding. From day one they made me feel so confident in our choices, our to-do list felt like it was handled and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. They fully designed our day - stationary, florals, decor rentals, it was such a blast to have our check-in meetings on Zoom to SEE our design come together. They handled all of the vendor exchanges, including when we arrived to our venue in Costa Rica and it looked completely different than the pictures online so we ended up moving our ceremony site to our welcome party site with 24 hours to go! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t worry for a second, but I did worry - if only for a second. Truly Brenna and Molly said “we got this” and they handled it so easily. I was worried about packing two wedding dresses for international travel - Molly had me bring them and my suitcase to work and she herself packed them perfectly. When we got to Costa Rica they came to our villa to unpack and hang them safely. On my wedding day Molly steamed my veil and was actually the one to get me in my dress. They were also so incredibly understanding with everything I wanted to do to include my mother who passed away in 2021. I brought a necklace with cremation remains and they so lovingly tied it on my bouquet for me. They carried the portrait I had my now mother-in-law carry down the aisle around with them throughout the day like she was just hanging out with them. They even took the portrait back to their flat so mom was at their “after party.” Our 3 sons are the first to refer our friends and family that are wedding planning to “Miss Brenna and Molly” - they loved hanging out with them for the week we were together. Overall - I love Brenna and Molly enough to spend a year in meetings with them AND fly them to Costa Rica for a week, along with our 30 closest family and friends. Their care, attention to detail, and confidence continue to amaze me and Wild Rose will always and forever be the best thing I ever did for our wedding!

From the first meeting to engagement photos, rehearsal and wedding day, all the way to final edits Elizabeth was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. She communicates clearly and promptly and has great insight when we asked her about anything. Kyle was a great videographer and support to Elizabeth and Lindsay was amazing as the second shooter making sure two brides were fully covered. Our photos are absolutely stunning and we will cherish our wedding video forever. Our full gallery was delivered two weeks early and our preview was up before we woke up the day after our wedding! Hi there! Nice to meet you! I’m a photographer, full-time executive assistant at a non-profit organization, graphic designer, true crime weirdo, and karaoke expert in Kansas City, Missouri. Most importantly, I’m a mom to a sweet baby boy and two pups, and I’m in love with my best friend. Twelve years ago, in a tiny Kansas town called Yoder, I started my little photo business. Since then, I’ve been so lucky to be able to create many life-long friendships with tons of incredible people throughout the Midwest and beyond.

Stevie was so fun to work with and put us at ease during our engagement and wedding photos. She is super communicative and got our photos to us quickly. Our vision really came to life and everything we described to her as our dream aesthetic was captured in our photos.

Caitlyn Cloud Photography

5.0

Kansas City, MO
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style

I grew up in a divided home, literally. Splitting time between my parents after their divorce, often being in the middle of their fighting, made me grow into a very empathetic person. It’s become the biggest strength I take with me into wedding days. My documentary style stems from my ability to sense when special moments are about to happen. I am able to sense emotions that aren’t necessarily visible, sense when to come close and when to be a fly-on-the-wall, and sense what/who is important to you therefore important to photograph.

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot recommend Caitlyn enough!! I've been so lucky to work with Caitlyn in the past through my sister's wedding (so I know how amazing she is and how fantastic her picture are), but working with her from the bride's POV was just as amazing! Everything from our initial inquiry with her, to our wedding day was seamless. Caitlyn had great communication with us; responding to emails within 1-2 days, checking in with us on the wedding planning journey, offering support and advice in all areas of wedding planning, even emailing to give updates on the wedding gallery editing process. My husband and I are just naturally very awkward people and had never taken professional photos together before. We were worried that our awkwardness would come out in the pictures/we wouldn't know what to do other than just stand and smile. What we loved about working with Caitlyn, was that she was just there as a fly on the wall capturing pictures of us as we were sitting and talking and laughing together. She would give us pose ideas and ideas to make each other laugh, and overall made us feel very comfortable in a situation where we would not typically feel comfortable. On our wedding day, there was probably 5-6 inches of snow on the ground; Caitlyn brought her snow boots with her to our wedding day and marched through the snow with us to give us the most amazing wedding photos! The snow pictures are by far my favorite pictures from our day. Caitlyn delivered a MASSIVE wedding gallery of so many fantastic photos! I feel as if she captured all the different moments of our wedding (e.g., getting ready, vows, first looks, ceremony, reception, etc) perfectly. I love all the photos of our guests from the ceremony and reception; with the day being so busy it's hard to talk to every single guest, but having these pictures is special because we know they were there and excited to celebrate with us. One thing I recommend to future brides booking with Caitlyn, is to schedule a meeting with her to sit down and make sure your shot list has all the necessary combinations. Our family photos are some of our favorite pictures, but when my husband and I were putting together our shot list, we forgot some combinations of people that we felt strongly about getting more 1:1 pictures with. A meeting with Caitlyn to discuss your shot list, will help to eliminate any opportunity for missed combinations. Overall, Caitlyn did a fantastic job capturing my husband and I from our engagement pictures, to the wedding day, but also capturing our relationships with family and friends through wedding day pictures (e.g., getting ready, reception, etc.). We plan to use Caitlyn to capture all of our best life adventures from here on out! :)

Why you'll love this venue

  • Has a dance floor for celebration
  • Provides event staff
  • Pets can join the celebration

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you are drawn to more unconventional venues
  • Not for you if you don't want a rustic vibe
  • No all-inclusive dining options
We had such an amazing wedding at The Oliver Building. Having the venue for the whole weekend made our weekend run so smoothly. We had our rehearsal Friday night, and brought everything over so we didn’t need to deal with it Saturday. Then got ready in the amazing upstairs suites Saturday morning. We had a great time, and Caitlin was so easy to work with! The only reason I took a star off is that we had some issues with the bar. We made it clear from the start that we wanted to prioritize the bar, and didn’t want long lines. Because of that, they said we would have 3 bartenders, and would batch some of our signature cocktails. Unfortunately, we only had two bartenders, despite giving tips for 3, and there were no cocktails batched. We did have a pretty long line at our bar most of the night because of this. All in all, it was an amazing venue for our wedding!!

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists

I cannot say enough good things about The Monarch Room!!! We got married here in Dec 2024 and it could not have been more perfect. The space is beautiful, it’s open and customizable in so many ways, the staff were wonderful to work with the entire time we were planning and the day of (and even after), the pricing is reasonable and includes SO much, the list goes on and on. As a bride who DIY’d, didn’t have a planner, and has anxiety, Megan eased so much of my worries with good communication and willingness to help take things off my plate if needed. Megan & team - thank you so much! 10/10 recommend.

Hallie Sigwing Photography

5.0

Kansas City, MO
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,000

My work is focused on creating the kind of photos that will remind you of exactly how it felt to be in that room again when you pull out your wedding album in 50 years. I understand that your wedding is about so much more than just the photos - it’s the only day that all of these people will be under one roof.

Working with Hallie on our wedding day was the best decision we made (outside of marrying each other, of course). Photographs have always been important to me because they let you feel the memories of important moments long after the moment has passed. And that is exactly what Hallie has given to us. When I look at the photos from that June day, I can feel the excitement, the nervousness, the joy, and the love that filled that day to the brim. She captures the photos that you know from the get go that you want--the first look, the family portraits, the dance; but Hallie's magic comes from bearing witness to the small moments and details throughout the day that otherwise easily slip from memory. Our home is filled with these photos of my grandparents smiling as they watch the happiness in the room, my parents on the dancefloor, the details of our outfits, and the small looks that we gave each other throughout the day. Aside from the photos, Hallie is incredible to work with and couldn't have made our day easier on us, especially as people who get squirrely in front of a camera. She takes the time to get to know you, does exactly what she says she is going to, and is also just incredibly fun to be around. Now that we have become continued clients of Hallie, our home is a gallery of her work. I can't thank her enough for the beautiful memories that she has given us or recommend her more to others. She also bakes a mean pie and sings some lovely tunes.

Erin was wonderful from the first chat we had with her. She made everything from our engagement session to check ins before the big day, to all aspects of wedding photography have such ease. We feel so fortunate to have found her, especially as a queer couple and the industry being filled with "bride and groom" talk, she didn't skip a beat at making us both feel special as the brides.

We were absolutely thrilled with the level of service and attention to detail provided by Blue Magnolia Weddings! Communication was very thorough, and Deidra went over the top in terms of quality of work. She made sure we were hydrated while taking pictures after the ceremony since it was hot outside. Secondly, we made a last minute change of giving Jenny's bouquet to her mother which Deidra promptly arranged and made sure it went smoothly. I'd highly recommend hiring them for your wedding, our special day was stress-free and everyone had a great experience.

Deanna Johnson Photography

Taking the photo is only a fraction of my job. I’m the cheerleader, usher, keeper of the timeline, and stealth ninja anticipating what’s coming next. After 10 years and more than 200 weddings, I’ve learned a trick or two about how to navigate the unique challenges of a wedding day. I’ve learned that planning for the inevitable means getting to enjoy the unexpected. I’ve learned when to take center stage and be the conductor to ensure that your must-have shots are checked off that list. But, I’ve also learned when to be still and wait for the relationships surrounding you to show their beautiful touches of joy that long to be captured.

We met Deanna when she photographed the wedding of a family member. When my fiance and I got engaged, we immediately agreed on 2 things; we wanted out wedding outside and we wanted Deanna to be out photographer. She listened to us and helped us hone our vision for what we wanted. We asked her about photography, but she was also so helpful when we asked about timing and other wedding details. She is as adept as outdoor and adventurous weddings as she is with churches and more formal venues. It was so fun to see her get joy out of her art and we are so happy we got to be a part of that. I loved that she would take advantage of small moments throughout the day, but I never felt like I was being taken away from our celebration. All of our guests were so impressed by her as well. Both for the final product, but also because she stayed up just as late as everyone else to not miss a moment of the celebration. She meshed with out family and friends so well that everyone felt instantly comfortable with her, which meant relaxed and beautiful photos of all of our loved ones!

Mackenzie, Taylor, and the rest of their team were phenomenal to work with! There were hiccups beyond our control at a wedding, and they rolled with the punches, adapted as need be, and made sure to take care of the bride, groom, and their guests the entire time. On top of that, the space (The Kansas City Room) is beautiful, versatile, and the suites in the back are a HUGE bonus to make your wedding weekend more seamless and relaxed.
