    When I began looking for a photographer for my wedding I had a list of requirements they needed to meet from my personal experience and knowledge as a photographer. I also had a distinct feeling I wanted the images to have. I went through multiple photographers who just didn't meet my criteria and weren’t a match. When I came across Kalena and went through her portfolio on her website I was excited I potentially found a match. She was very quick to respond and set up a web/phone meeting to discuss what we were looking for and to get to know us. Her questions were well thought out and I could tell she has been doing wedding photography for a while and had a great amount of experience. I was very impressed with her professionalism but I also felt very comfortable with her and that was important to me. I am so happy I found her and trusted her with capturing the moments and the feelings I wanted to forever remember on my wedding day. My wedding images were even better than I was imagining and I have nothing but fond memories of the whole process she captured. She seemed so comfortable around the venue and the people there. She blended in and became another friend who could capture more of the candid shots and sneak in for the close ups without us even noticing. That matters when you want genuine emotion captured. She not only met the high bar of expectations but exceeded it for multiple professional photographers within my family that all had nothing but great things to say about her. Her turnaround for sneak peeks and then the complete gallery was surprisingly fast and the amount of images was impressive. The extensive amount of images were also not just fluff to add up a tally, but all were important shots, details of the venue, decorations, and all the photos I wanted to make sure to have. It did not seem rushed. I also appreciate that she allows us to post any of the images we want as long as she is given credit. No watermarks on the images that are so distracting. I make sure to tag her in all of them since there is no better way for her to get clients, to just see what beautiful work she does. I also appreciated that she does not require us to only print the images through her services. If you are on the fence due to prices and budgeting she is absolutely worth her prices. She was trustworthy, professional, punctual, kind, communicative, and friendly. You won’t find anyone better in the KC area!!!!!

    Kalena is a spectacular person, and a phenomenal photographer. If you don't read any further than this, at least let that be what you take away from this review. Our wedding day felt like a dream come true. Everything went nearly perfect, and without hyperbole I can say it was the best day I've ever had in my life. Kalena's photos of the day capture that sentiment perfectly. She managed to not only document so many details of the wedding, she did so with an amazing sense of artistry in every shot. Of all the photos we got back from her, there is not a single bad or mediocre shot. In fact, at times I get upset that I can't easily chose favorites. Kalena was so incredibly helpful directing us in our couples photos. The photos absolutely benefit from how much fun we were having working with her. It was so easy to take direction from her and just be ourselves, and the result is some of the best pictures either of us have ever been in. Lightning quick to utilize the scenery and environment, it seemed like Kalena had been planning the photoshoot as long as we had been planning the wedding, and she had only been there for a few hours prior! The way she was able to utilize the sunset in our photos really is jaw dropping. Every time I show one of the wedding photos to someone, they are stunned, as they should be! If you want someone who is totally comfortable around the whole wedding process, Kalena is a perfect fit. Her personality meshed well with everyone and by the end of the day it seemed like we were saying goodbye to another of our wedding guests, made up of close family and lifelong friends, rather than someone we had just met in person that day. I feel like I could go on for an upsetting amount of time praising Kalena, but if you're reading this, you need to get through this review and reach out to book her for your own wedding! You would have to actively try to be disappointed, and even then, I think she's so great you would still have a pretty good experience. Kalena, I'll say it a million more times and mean it as sincerely each and every time: Thank you for being with us and capturing our perfect day for us. The photos absolutely do justice to how beautiful the day is in my memory and in my heart.
