The Downtown Collective

“The Downtown Collective was absolutely outstanding and exceeded our expectations in every way. Their communication was excellent and professional from start to finish. The quality of their work and value was exceptional - the energy was amazing, their vocals were outstanding, and they were a true class act. Our guests raved about them all night long. Behind the scenes, they were communicative and great to work with. This band nailed it, and the energy was insane. If you're thinking of booking them, do it now - you'll be so thankful you did. Thank you, Downtown Collective, for helping us throw an amazing celebration!”

The Downtown Collective Band was established in 2016 as just a couple of guys who wanted to jam out in the attic. We started by getting some small gigs here and there doing hybrid DJ/live music performances. Then we found friends from music school at UNL that played instruments and made the jam bigger and got more gigs. Now we are known as one of the top bands in the Midwest. We love playing live music because you get a much more authentic experience with people actually playing instruments and connecting with the crowd! All of our past clients agree- Downtown Collective is a high energy group that gets everyone dancing!

Direct Entertainment DJ-PHOTO-VIDEO-BOOTHS

Rating: 4.6 (133 reviews)

“The photographer, videographer, and photo booth was absolutely perfect and our guests had a blast! However, even after going through the work of submitting a Spotify play list and adding do not play songs or DJ played the wrong version of our first dance song (I checked and we had the correct version listed on our playlist we sent over), he also played songs from our do not play list to the point I, the bride, came over to ask if he had the wrong list. He admitted he was using songs from the do not play list as he was not paying attention. I would also like to note, though our wedding was more casual, our DJ was dressed in a sloppy manner. His shirt was half untucked from his pants, there were stains on his shirt and pants. Besides a few hiccups, direct Entertainment was wonderful to work with!”

Alternative Wedding DJs

Rating: 5.0 (65 reviews)

“When planning my wedding, I knew finding the right DJ was going to be my hardest moment. I’m in that time of life where we have a few weddings a year, and you can almost certainly find me on the dance floor from the moment it opens to the last song, only leaving for bathroom breaks or to pull friends to the floor. Finding Alternative Wedding DJs was one of those serendipitous moments and I knew it was meant to be. From the website being transparent (let’s be real, a lot of vendors hide details and waste your time, but these guys don’t), to hearing samples I knew this was going to be the best decision for my wedding. Their vibe and energy is palpable, even from a digital screen. They worked secretly with my family to coordinate a surprise flashmob from my favorite movie and handled requests as if they had the ability to read my mind (yes, Rasputin Just Dance choreography came out). If you’re looking to have the best dance floor of your life, call Alternative Wedding DJs. You won’t regret it.”

DJ
Starts at $1,500
Serves Hickman, NE

Stereotypical wedding DJs spoil the fun. They play the same songs (boring). There are gaps between songs (awkward). And they talk on the mic too much (obnoxious). We’re the alternative. We beat match & blend music (non-stop dancing) We use the mic appropriately (vibe isn’t ruined) We personalize the playlist with your input (you’ll love the music) If you say things like, “We’re having a non-traditional wedding!,” or “We need to blend our multicultural families,” or “I’ll die if my domineering future mother-in-law demands that the DJ to play her QVC album collection,” ... then we're for you!

A true "American Dream” story; their once “side hustle” has blossomed into a full time growing business that also employs their children and is still sparking their creativity to this day.

“ASE helped ease our minds throughout the entire planning process! The entire team, start to finish, made our big day a breeze! We loved that they sent out an email the week of to all of the vendors ensuring that they were all on the same page! ASE even pulled off a suprise photobooth rental, gifted to us by my (the brides) parents! DJ RJ was the best! We threw a lot of "untraditional" reception ideas at him and he went with it, supported it and best of all, had fun with it! We had a great time and RJ really listened to our requests! We gave him a broad genre of music and he got it right! The entire team was truly the best! Would highly recommend to any couple looking for a quality company who care for every single wedding they work!”

“I don’t know where to start with Dillon and Electric Sugar…. They were incredible. Plain and simple. I worked with Dillon leading up to wedding weekend and he was kind, prompt, professional, and fun. We worked together to create a set list that was perfect for our taste in music. Dillon also played guitar at our ceremony and it was beautiful. He did a combo of guitar and prerecorded music per our request and it was perfect. He brought all the equipment needed for our officiant to have a microphone as well. The Electric Sugar band as a whole played for our reception. We had them for 3 hours and the dance floor was packed for 3 hours. They were so much fun and SO talented!!! It was the best party and they were a huge reason behind it! I would recommend them to anyone for their wedding or any other occasion they are looking to add spice and energy too. If we ever host another event where music is needed I would book them in a heartbeat”
