We live in Massachusetts but my husband is from Sarasota so we wanted to get married in Florida. Bakers Ranch made everything so easy especially since we were from out of town. The entire planning process was relatively stress free because they include and help with so much. The fact that I had someone to email with and ask questions the entire year of planning was huge. Missy was our day of coordinator and she made sure everything ran smoothly. It really took away stress on the wedding day. They provide almost all vendors but you still get a choice (shout out to DJ Rafael with Grant Hemond, Blue Water Catering & Tampa Bay Cake Co). While we wished there was an additional dinner catering option (there were only 2) we were still very happy with Blue Water. They can also help with outside vendors and give recommendations. I highly recommend this venue and it felt like the best bang for our buck!

Our wedding at Ridgecrest at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn was everything we wanted and more! We couldn't imagine a more perfect weekend even if we tried. First off, the wedding coordinator MELISSA at The Milestone Denton is godsend and 10000% deserves a huge raise and fat bonus for the amount of work she does and is so helpful in the planning process. She was very honest and upfront during the entire planning process. I am very Type A and for once in my life it was nice to have someone else in charge and I fully trusted her. She even provides recommendations when you don’t know what you want and will be honest with pricing. If it weren’t for Melissa, I don’t know how the wedding would have gone and I would have been so stressed during the planning process. She is so awesome that she goes out of her way to do things for you (be nice everyone!) and is very responsive. She also helped with the reception layout with my divorced parents who do not get along with other family members and it was a success. MELISSA IS THE BEST!! The venue - BEAUTIFUL. We had our ceremony indoors which was nice because our guests were able to take pictures at the gabezo in the back during cocktail hour. If you do your ceremony outside at the gazebo, the guests won’t be able to have their little photoshoots. The entire venue is gorgeous and every corner is a photo-op. It’s a great venue if you have 150 or less people. The big windows everywhere were just so beautiful. The bridal suite is HUGE and beautiful and the grooms suite is upstairs and has a tv and pool table. Perfect for the boys! The food, bar and DJ - everything was great and explained throughly by Melissa so expectations were set and made based on what tier and package you purchased I did not use the Walter Weddings photographer, florists or cake designer so I can’t speak to that. One downfall was on the day of the wedding with Melissa’s day of partner, Allison. She is super sweet and helped steam my bridal gown and Matron of Honor’s dress, which I’m so appreciative of. But I guess she didn’t communicate well to the staff on what needed to be done that day because there were several mishaps that shouldn’t have happened. The ceremony room was incomplete and she didn’t give me the chance to see how the front tables looked. I purchased 100 of bouquet flowers and ribbons that were supposed to be tied to each seat which I was told could be done since it was a simple task to tie 3 flowers and a bow on each aisle chair. This was not done so that small detail from my ceremony room seem bland and a waste of money. The front tables weren’t done how I wanted and it was chaotic having presents with our guestbook and our wedding sign. We wanted to utilize the buffet type table in the front room for presents so it’s not so cluttered when you walk in. Also, a lot of my items were not used for cocktail hour. After the wedding, I noticed the box was opened but she did not use what I purchase and the display for cocktail hour looked like a “backyard bbq” according to my guests. I was so disappointed because I had custom items and “backyard bbq” did not fit the vibe of “old Hollywood glam” of the wedding. Other than the day of mishaps, I highly recommend doing your wedding at Milestone Mansion Denton and having Melissa as your coordinator. GIVE HER A HUGE RAISE, Walter Weddings!!! She’s top notch and deserves it!

From the moment we toured the space to the final send-off on our wedding night, they went above and beyond to make every detail perfect. One of the biggest advantages of choosing this venue is their incredible preferred vendor team. We were blown away by the talent and expertise of everyone they recommended. We had our wedding at the Villa in the tent this June and it was truly a dream! From the very start of wedding planning, the event team worked closely with us every step of the way. Jocelyn was our event producer and she truly was so helpful, thorough and made everything so easy. The night of our wedding, all of the staff worked so hard and were so kind. All of our guests complimented the service and the event as a whole - we even heard it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended. The tent itself was as beautiful as the day we toured it, the grounds were beautiful and full of florals. The appetizers and buffet dinner were fabulous, and we got so much positive feedback from our guests. The entire team at the Villa was amazing, and I’m so thankful for Jocelyn and her team. Thank you so much for everything!

While dating my now wife, I used to drive past Olio every time I came to Peabody and knew from the start that it would be the home of our future wedding. The time came and we immediately scheduled our tour and fell in love. We knew we needed a special venue since our flower girl is in a wheelchair and Olio shocked us by being not only fully accessible but also so willing to accommodate our needs. Sarah helped us envision the reception and ceremony of our dreams during the walk through and we got straight to work! Olio provided a comprehensive vendor list but also allowed us the ability to bring in a few personal vendors as well making the process simple and also very customizable. Through Sarah we learned about her day of coordination service, Without a Hitch, and they truly lived up to their name! Ashley was an absolute icon and kept us on track through out the planning process and then made the day of entirely effortless for my wife and I. Our families can not speak more highly of the natural beauty of the space and also the amazing team. We can’t recommend Olio highly enough and can’t wait to spread the word about this amazingly LGBTQ and disability friendly venue.

The Wheeler House was the perfect venue for our wedding ceremony, reception, and getting ready, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Spending the morning in such a beautiful, historic home made everything feel so special. The bridal suite was amazing—plenty of space for my bridesmaids and me to get ready together and enjoy those moments before the day began. One of my favorite memories was having a quiet moment on the private porch swing to write my vows. It gave me the chance to pause, reflect, and take everything in before walking down the aisle. Emma, our wedding coordinator, was absolutely incredible. She stayed in constant communication throughout the entire planning process, provided helpful checklists, and made sure I was always ahead on what needed to be done. She was so kind, cheerful, and easy to talk to, which made everything feel smooth and stress-free. On the wedding day, she truly brought everything together and made my dream wedding come to life. My partner and I’s venue search ended the second we ascended in the historical elevator to the penthouse of the James Oviatt Building. The Oviatt venue is a multifaceted piece of beautiful Art Deco history that lends itself well to whatever event you are trying to throw. In our case, they hosted our wedding. We will forever be grateful for their immense care and kindness leading up to, on, and after the big day. We met the President Gabe first, who had his own wedding at this venue before he managed it. He made us feel right at home and answered every question we could muster. Our one hour showing turned into a two and a half hour conversation where his care and passion for the venue and his clients became very clear. We felt a connection right away. He shared a wealth of great advise and reassurances and gave us an impeccable pool of preferred vendors. We were sold in minutes. Every event is different, but my partner and I did not feel the space needed any help to become beautiful. The architectural art of the space is breathtaking and unique from the valet area outside of the Cicada Club all the way to the terrace. We saved a fortune on a florist. Who needs one when everything is already so classy? Speaking of class, the Director of Events Lindsey took point on execution and was our resource during the planning process. I as an individual am not the most communicative. I needed someone with that attention to detail and she delivered. After giving her all the venue required specifications (seating chart, insurances, etc,) two conversations was all it took for her to equip the venue with everything it needed and make it gorgeous. It seemed effortless for her. Not a spec of dust or dirt to be seen and the staff was respectful, efficient, and welcoming. I had a panic attack because I forgot to ask them for valet and she was able to get her people on it without issue the same week as the wedding. (Don’t be like me, but that is a perfect example of how on top of it they are.) They had EVERYTHING we could have wanted for a downtown metropolitan wedding and then some. If they didn’t have it? They knew exactly where to refer you. One of my personal favorite features was their completely customizable LED lighting strips on the hedges that lined either side of the rooftop. We had them a bright warm light for dinner and then a cycle of rainbow colors for dancing. They are inclusive and welcoming to any and all who come to visit. We felt valued, respected, and well cared for. It truly was the best day of our lives and we owe it all to The Oviatt. I implore to to reach out to them. I can say with certainty that you won’t be disappointed and whatever it is you are planning will become a memorable experience unlike any other.

My husband and I are eternally grateful for the Red Barn and their staff. From the beginning, Nicole was extremely attentive and answered all of our questions when booking the venue. One of the main reasons we picked the Red Barn was because of its natural beauty inside and out. The wood finishes and landscaping are the perfect backdrop to any wedding, which allows you to decorate as much or as little as you want. We worked with Rachel in the last 3 months before the big day and could not have asked for a better day of coordinator. She made us feel so calm and heard throughout the process. She was open and excited about all of our ideas. Her and the staff made our decorations and personal touches look better than we could have imagined when we arrived on wedding day. The food, drinks and atmosphere were amazing, as well. The Red Barn made things feel so easy on the most important day of our lives. We will cherish these memories for years to come!

When I tell you Mountain View Ranch was the best experience a bride could ask for, I say this without hyperbole. I just got married 05/04/25 and the entire experience was so smooth I felt like I had no thoughts on my wedding day. Alex Hubbart was my wedding coordinator and she SLAYED all my wedding planning, day of coordinating, and anything else. I literally, LITERALLY could not have asked for a better coordinator. I had no idea what I wanted and she was so patient and helpful the entire time. Caryn was my banquet captain and if you can you should request her. The whole night went perfect. Aiden was our server and he was so sweet and professional. Kevin and Nate killed it. Our food was perfect. And Christie and Carrie were our bar tenders. They made me a custom drink from my grad school days helped me perfect it. I was pumped. Nate the DJ was a crowd favorite. I got the best feedback about how good he was from my guests. If I got married again, I’d do it at Mountain View ranch and I would pick the same team. Especially Alex. Do yourself a favor and book her as your coordinator before someone else snaps her up. The venue itself is beautiful and all the vendors worked so well with the venue. Imagine because they are familiar with the trip and timeline. If you want a low stress, mountain wedding with stunning views? This is the place.

Nazareth Hall is known throughout the region as a banquet and wedding facility, but it’s the rich history and lush setting that draws people here. When we were looking for a venue, I immediately fell in love with the look and feel of Nazareth Hall. It is a beautiful place that allows for so much diversity in decor/theme. Not only was Nazareth beautiful, but the staff was absolutely wonderful! They worked with us to ensure that we had exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. There was never a time that I felt stressed during our wedding planning because our coordinator at Nazareth helped us through each step! She always ensured that we had specific things booked by certain times in our planning. The amazing staff didn’t end with our wedding planner/coordinator, the waitstaff and day of coordinator were also amazing! I never felt like I was forced to pay for things we didn’t need and the food was amazing! Nazareth Hall is 1000% the best wedding venue in the area! We have had nothing but positive experiences here!

Wedding venue shopping is a lot on a couple. It takes time and energy and can be very stressful. However, when we say we found the perfect place we mean it. Donauschwaben’s was one of our venue choices coming highly recommended by our friends and family already. We reached out through their website and within no time we got an immediate response from the Christine, Event/ Wedding planner to set up a meeting together. She is not only extremely kind, but had everything organized so beautifully to choose from it was a no-brainer to choose this venue. She even recommended our DJ who had played a previous wedding there who was incredible. All communication leading up to our big day was efficient and layed out easily for us to understand. Our checks were deposited in a timely manner by the venue, our tasting was so nice and so delicious. The no pressure wedding planning was worth every penny spent. Our wedding day was so special and so beautiful from start to finish from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to our lovely reception to follow. Not only was Christine present the day of, but the staff was also on their A game all night long. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and kind, we felt like royalty. We both highly recommend this venue and if you do, definitely get the Schnitzel, Prost! The only recommendation to the venue would be to update their beverage packages to include seltzers such as High noons or White claws. Had a great time attending two different friends’ wedding at a simple affair - the space was beautiful and the perfect size for the amount of guests. I know the bride and groom at both loved being able to bring in their own vendors, which was nice that the venue allowed for something different compared to typical wedding venues. Jess Hoge was a really great planner for one of the weddings, it couldn’t have gone so smoothly without her!

The Inn at Leola Village was absolutely phenomenal! From the very first interaction, Stephanie and Gianna were effective, friendly, and thoughtful in their communication, making the planning process a breeze. The value they provided was excellent - not only is the venue itself beautifully appointed, but so many conveniences were included for the price that it made our day run that much more smoothly. For example, Stephanie recommended we skip the traditional first dances and family speeches and instead just dance our guests right into the dining room to a small surprise set from our band! This really kicked off the party in a fun and lively way which set the tone for the entire night. Absolutely wonderful to work with, Stephanie and Gianna are true professionals, and all we had to do as the couple was show up and leave the rest to them. We couldn't be happier with our decision to host our wedding at The Inn at Leola Village.

When we went to visit The Farm our first time it was March, cold, gloomy and rainy -- and we fell in love! That itself is a testament to the vibes and the staff! The next time we visited was for our engagement session with our wedding photographer around a year to our wedding date and it was absolutely stunning! We did the full decor package in which The Farm staff would take care of all our and any of our decor needs day of, which truly was the best investment in my opinion. I am also a super type A person in some things and we wanted some small details specific to our personalities. They were so amazing with everything. All the meetings leading up to our wedding day to make sure we had everything how we wanted was so reassuring. Kim was my coordinator and she was so communicative leading up to my wedding day and made my day run so smoothly. If anything was wrong, I surely didn't notice it! Every staff member was so nice and sweet and made my day honestly the best day of my life and made it perfect! It truly ran so smoothly and without a hitch, like no issues at all! I was so nervous about things going wrong and there was nothing that happened and I believe that is due to the staff. They are all so educated, experienced, and how much down pact in the routine they have everything down. I would have any event here again easily! I wish I could re-live my wedding day because I feel like I missed so much because I had so much fun and it was so perfect and it was truly all due to The Farm. They truly do care about making your wedding day the most perfect day ever and about the love you two share.

Overall, we would absolutely choose Ashton Gardens Corinth again. We had a wonderful experience with the venue and Walter’s Wedding Estates overall, and I’m sharing this review in hopes it helps future couples researching venues. First, our wedding planner and coordinator, Becca, was incredible. She is extremely organized, a great communicator, and such a kind person. Our day would not have been the same without her. She kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes, checked in on us throughout the day, and truly made us feel supported and cared for. Venue: The beauty of Ashton Gardens is truly unmatched. The chapel is breathtaking, and I will never forget the moment the doors opened for me to walk down the aisle. The bridal suite was exactly what I hoped for and comfortably fit me, my seven bridesmaids, both moms, and our hair and makeup artists without feeling crowded. The groom’s suite is smaller, so the groom and his groomsmen chose to get ready off-site, which worked fine for them. One thing we loved is that the reception space is just a short walk from the chapel, making the transition to cocktail hour and the reception very easy for guests. The reception hall is spacious and offers a lot of flexibility for floor plans. We had 142 guests, plus a rented dance floor and dueling piano players, and the space felt perfect. One thing we wish we had known before booking is that the “included” rehearsal hour is only offered Monday–Thursday. Rehearsals outside those days require an additional fee. Food & Drinks: We chose the exceptional catering and bar package through Walter’s. Unfortunately, the food ended up being our least favorite part of the wedding, which is the only reason we are giving a four-star review instead of five. Several guests mentioned their meals were cold or dry, and we later learned the last table served received noticeably smaller portions, which was disappointing given that our final guest count was submitted well in advance. However, the team did a great job accommodating guests with dietary restrictions. Along these lines, we were disappointed that there was no opportunity to have an actual tasting to choose our menu, so we chose a chicken and steak duet as a safe choice. We did attend a Walter’s showcase, but they only had pork, fish, or chicken to try that night. Since we had fewer than 150 guests, we paid to have both bars open, which we highly recommend to avoid long lines. Guests had great things to say about the bartending services, and the signature drinks were fantastic. Vendor Package: The vendor package was a huge benefit. Not having to worry about rentals like linens, plates, glassware, and tables saved us a lot of time and stress. The vendors we worked with through the package were professional, communicative, and wonderful to work with.

About wedding venues

How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors
