"We had first met with Chris in person for a meet and greet, which I would have never thought to play such an integral role in the process. He demonstrated so much passion for the trade and was so invested in making sure he was exactly the photographer we were looking for so we could truly get the most out of our day. " - Steph

Awarded Best of Zola
I am beyond grateful we hired Chris as our wedding photographer. From our first time talking I knew he was the right fit. He went above and beyond to make this the best experience. From meeting us in advance and even scouting photo spots at the venue when we visited, to preparing an iron clad schedule with room for flexibility, to making me an electrolyte drink so I'd stay hydrated during the morning prep, and making us laugh and stay present throughout the day, we couldn't have been happier with our experience. Chris has an innate ability to connect with anyone and he made all of us feel at ease, which helped our authentic emotions shine through in the photos. We knew we wanted a photographer that could capture all the feelings in a unique, artistic and fun way, and Chris did all that and more. Our wedding photos are beautiful, precious memories that truly allow us to relive each moment, and I am so grateful for that gift. Chris was one of the best investments we made for our wedding, and he truly made the day even more special for us and our families. 1,000 out of 10 recommend!

Love by Justina
Rating: 5.0 (18 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,200
  • Serves Groton, MA

Based in New England & California, I capture celebrations of love and guide them through a layered visual process—transforming them into tactile keepsakes. My work blends editorial storytelling with an experimental approach, resulting in deeply personal and textured imagery. Alongside creative direction, my experience allows me to be an advisor for timeline shaping so the day moves with intention and room to breathe, building a collaborative storyboard, capturing visual analog film & super 8

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot say enough about Justina—she helped our wedding day run seamlessly! From the start, she was incredibly helpful and communicative, working closely with us to construct the perfect wedding day timeline. She even provided a detailed wedding guidebook and questionnaire, which helped us envision the exact vibe we wanted. On the big day, when we inevitably fell behind schedule, Justina handled it with such grace and adapted quickly. She adjusted effortlessly, stayed flexible, and kept everything moving. Even with less time for photos, she still managed to capture all the shots we had requested. Justina’s collaboration with her brother Anthony, who did our videography, was another highlight. Instead of coordinating between two separate vendors, we were able to meet with both of them together, ensuring that our wedding day vibe was beautifully reflected in both the photos and video. They both were extremely professional and helpful, in addition to providing creative ideas that helped bring our vision to life. What truly sets Justina apart is her talent and eye for candid shots that look and feel so natural. You can tell she cares deeply about the quality of her work. She got us a preview album within a week of the wedding, and my husband and I were so moved by the photos. We still cannot stop looking through them! If you want someone who will make your wedding photo dreams come true and help you feel comfortable and taken care of on our wedding day, look no further than Justina. We couldn’t be happier with our choice!

Callan Photo
Rating: 5.0 (11 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,500
  • Serves Groton, MA

I believe wedding photography should let you stay present while your story is captured naturally. My approach is relaxed and candid, blending authentic moments with creative portraits that reflect who you are. For more than a decade, I’ve photographed weddings across New England—from Cape Cod beaches to rustic barns and city ballrooms. My couples value not just the images, but the experience—calm, easy, and stress-free—resulting in timeless photos that feel as genuine years from now as they do today.

We wanted a photographer that would capture our wedding day without making it feel like a photo shoot and Shawn did exactly that! He made a point to listen to what we wanted. Shawn was easy to work with and reasonably priced. He did a great job capturing candid moments during our wedding. We would highly recommend using Shawn as your wedding photography!

Scott was great from our first experience- he was very timely in his responses and was flexible with preference of communication, Zola messenger when needed, email and call when requested. He was willing to work with the budget we had set and what services he could provide within that budget. He set expectations appropriately for the timeline of services, payments and contract and answered any questions we had. Come wedding day, he made sure to hype me up where needed and helped me feel comfortable with the process (I am someone who prefers to take direction vs come up with things myself when it comes to pictures). I was also able to provide important key moments to him (wanting to get ready with my daughter, pic with my husband's grandparents, etc) and he rose to every occasion. I received feedback from my groom and several other people that they loved the photographer and felt he did great work. I agree, and would definitely refer Scott to any friend looking for a photographer

Zhaun Frias Photography
Rating: 5.0 (8 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,200
  • Serves Groton, MA

Why, hello there. I'm the creative behind the lens. I am a Canadian who pursued his true love, got married and found himself in the United States. It turns out, it can take some time to receive permanent residency, which led me to pick up a camera and fall in love with the art.

I don't even know where to start regarding Zhaun!! From our engagement photos all the way to our wedding day, he was so remarkably supportive, reassuring, & honestly invaluable the entire process. My husband & I always joke that we're remarkably unphotogenic & can be awkward in front of the camera-- but all of that really washed away with Zhaun. I know you've all seen the more cheesy or uber serious photographers, & Zhaun truly met us where we were & was able to create such a wonderfully laid back vibe. His photos obviously speak for themselves & it goes without saying, but holy MOLY is he talented!!! I made a pinterest page with different 'inspo,' wanting our photos of the big day to capture a lot of the joy in the little interactions with not only us, but all of our guests & boy did Zhaun deliver & then some!! We cannot thank him enough for all he's done for us!! You're the best!!! xx K&J

Nia Kovacev Photography
Rating: 5.0 (8 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Groton, MA

Hi there! I'm Nia, a wedding and elopement photographer based in Boston, MA but obsessed with traveling. I love the days when I stumble upon a new landscape, learn something new from a stranger or aimlessly drive until I end up somewhere decent. This is why I love storytelling. My favorite stories to tell are by far the love shared between two people. Storytelling and making a moment last is what drew me to photography. Documenting your day in an honest, soulful way that shows who you are is what I strive for.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are so grateful to Nia for photographing our wedding this past May. From our very first discovery call, she was warm, easygoing, and genuinely excited to capture who we are as a couple. Throughout the entire process she made everything simple and stress free, always communicating clearly and offering guidance whenever we needed it. For our engagement session, Nia even took time out of her personal trip to Colorado (where we lived at the time) to meet us for photos so we could document that chapter of our story. That extra effort meant so much to us. On our wedding day, she was the ultimate hype woman—calm, upbeat, organized, and smiling the entire time. She kept us relaxed, made the process feel natural, and helped us stay present in the moment. Our guests adored her, and her positive energy made us feel like we had a trusted friend behind the camera, not just a photographer. The photos speak for themselves. She captured the joy, emotion, and tiny in-between moments that we never want to forget. Her work is truly a form of art, and her ability to document real connection is unmatched. We are endlessly grateful for Nia and will cherish our photos forever. We cannot recommend booking her enough!!

Brett Crawford Photography

  • Serves Groton, MA

I’m Brett, a former photojournalist based in Boston who brings over a decade of storytelling experience to wedding photography. My passion lies in transforming fleeting moments into lasting art, using light, atmosphere, and genuine emotion to craft images that feel timeless and deeply personal. Serving New England and beyond, I’m devoted to preserving your celebration with care and intention, creating photographs that become part of your legacy.

Awarded Best of Zola
Brett is hands down the best wedding photographer we could have ever asked for. He was highly recommended to us by a family member, and honestly, hiring him was the best advice we took throughout the entire wedding planning process. From the start, working with Brett was like working with a close friend. He got to know us and made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera. As a result, he was able to capture photos that were meaningful to us. For instance, as bird lovers, we were excited to encounter baby geese while taking our engagement photos, and Brett incorporated them into the shoot for us. The photos he took on our wedding day truly captured the special moments and emotions of that day, and they are absolutely gorgeous without being overly edited. He just has an amazing talent for finding the best light and backdrops for both posed and candid photos. Observing his process was a lot of fun. We will definitely hire Brett again in the future and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

My name is Sarah! I’m a preschool teacher and Wedding photographer. I’ve always been obsessed with love since I can remember. I’ve photographed TONS of weddings now and quite frankly, to this day each one still makes me cry.

Working with Sarah was an absolute dream. My now husband and I are both awkward people, but we felt so comfortable working with her. She was so helpful, flexible, and understanding, and she really made things easy for us on our wedding day! We ended up with some really bad weather at the start of the wedding, but Sarah was able to make the best of things, and I’m so excited to see everything! If our wedding photos come out anything like our engagement photos, I’ll be so happy! I could not recommend Sarah more!

Kataram Studios
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,950
  • Serves Groton, MA

Why go with us, when you may have another option or two to look at? Well to keep it simple is because we love what we do, and get to love the people we do it for. We tend to start off as strangers meeting for the first time, then turn out to smile and laugh, maybe tears of joy also throughout the day. The day is not only important to you, but to your family and friends. To the next generation coming after you who will dust off and look at your photos and say “Mommy what was up with your hair,” those are the ones who will relive your wedding with you through your photos the most.

Awarded Best of Zola
Kat and Aram are a phenomenal duo! From our info call with them about 2 years prior to the wedding, we had a gut feeling they would prioritize our wants and document the night as if they were guest (with great eye for angles) at the wedding. We are truly mesmerized by our photos of not only us but our guests (making fabulous birthday and holiday gifts)! We cannot recommend Kataram Studios enough for photography and videography.

Channing Johnson Photography
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Groton, MA

I have a photojournalism degree from the oldest and most prestigious journalism school in the country. TIME Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and U.S. News and World Report have all hired me to photograph assignments for them. Whether I’m capturing moments for a national audience or for a single family, I draw on my storytelling background to honor the truth in all moments big and small. My job isn’t to create beauty. My job is to see the beauty already there. All work is personal work.

When researching a wedding photographer, my husband and I knew we wanted photos that would last well beyond our wedding day. At the same time, we didn’t want taking photos to consume too much of the day. We found Channing, and he was beyond perfect. He was everything we wanted in a photographer and so much more. He was non-intrusive while capturing moments, made the process quick and easy (even for my husband, who’s not big on taking photos), and delivered work that was better than we ever could have imagined. Our photos are still the most talked-about part of our wedding, and we’re so happy we invested in Channing. Because of his documentary-style photography, we truly get to relive our wedding day every time we look at them.

It starts with the typical story of an old-film-camera-at-11, and the love of photography growing into a passion. I aspire to capture beauty through light. I love to incorporate the built and natural elements into photography. I love working with people, and always look forward to being a small part of your life story; there to document your most loving moments. The language of light and movement inspires me to document the beauty that is life. Every client is a friend, and every experience is unique to its own. Every relationship sparks from the soul within it, and I seek only to capture it in it's element.

I can’t express how impressed I am with our Valima photos! These are the kind of wedding photos I’ve always hoped for- romantic, whimsical, and dreamy. Saleema and Ehsun did an incredible job, and the location they helped choose made for a beautiful, fairy-tale backdrop. We’ve received countless compliments, with some even saying the photos look straight out of a magazine. All of this is thanks to their exceptional talent, attention to detail, and keen eye for beauty. Not only did they deliver stunning photos, but they helped so much in managing logistics, coordinating our arrival to ensure we were unseen by guests, and addressing any overlooked details. Their professionalism, communication, and proactive approach were greatly appreciated. I especially valued their follow-up in the days leading up to the event to finalize the details, which was a refreshing change from a previous experience where communication was minimal until the event itself. I highly recommend Saleema and Ehsun for anyone seeking beautiful, memorable photography with exceptional service.

On your wedding day, you can count on me to be a calming presence ready to adapt. I’ll capture the day candidly, letting moments unfold naturally without too much interference. At the same time, I'm always ready to give a little push or guidance in the right direction for poses and creating moments.

Jesse was beyond exceptional. He worked our wedding in June 2023. It was important for us to find a photographer familiar with Chinese Tea Ceremonies and Catholic Weddings. And we did! From the beginning, Jesse helped with preparing the timeline and keeping us on schedule on our wedding day. He was so calm and encouraging during the day. A very reassuring person while we were running around. During the wedding, he was not intrusive; we barely noticed him and his colleague were there. Yet, they were personable, polite, friendly, and even our family commented on how lovely they were. When looking back at the photos, we feel we are reliving the emotions and love from the day. Even our wedding planning friend was impressed. We have a lot of candid poses mixed with formal portraits. He also has the patience of a saint, given the multiple photography demands from our family. If done all over, we would choose Jesse again. He is talented, professional, and has a wonderful personality.

I’ve traveled around the world photographing people and places, and I’m proud to call Boston my home base. I love everything about weddings. Perhaps part of that is because of how happily married I am, how much I enjoyed planning and experiencing my own wedding, and how much happiness I still get from looking at the pictures from my big day. Hey hey! I'm Abby: youngest of four sisters, cat mom, self-certified Malbec connoisseur, lucky wife to a goofy Puerto Rican man named Mike, and most recently the newly-minted mom to our chubby cheeked little one, Nico. I love to meet new people, try delicious new restaurants, dance whenever there is music playing, and I've been known to dabble in karaoke. In 2014 I took a giant leap out of the comfort of my 9-5 to start my business, leaving the world of copywriting and fashion behind to pursue my long-time love of photography. It has truly been one of the best decisions I ever made! I absolutely love what I do!

Awarded Best of Zola
We love the pictures Abby captured of us during our engagement shoot! We love her aesthetic, creativity, and knowledge of places to photograph in Boston. I am from New Orleans and communicated with Abby that even though we don't reside there, I wanted to find a way to capture the vibe of my hometown in Boston. It was a hard ask and she found a way to get it done. She took us to an area of Beacon Hill that had a house with a beautiful fleur-de-lis on a blue door. She also found other details in different settings that provided a French Quarter vibe. Her attention to detail throughout the shoot was amazing. Family and friends remarked how they could see the love shining through our photos. She captured our relationship beautifully. We are so glad we worked with her on our engagement session!

I'm California laid back, with a bit of New England hustle. I love to be near water and to read books on real paper. (But my Kindle is cool too.) I've listened to the Hamilton soundtrack about 300 times. When it comes to love, I believe commitment and unconditional acceptance are more powerful than fate. I've been told I'm kind of a photo ninja - I'm magically everywhere that the action is, but never obtrusive or in the way. (Coolest compliment, right?)

Shaina and her assistant Jasmine were the perfect pair to photograph our wedding day. Before the day, Shaina and I were always emailing or hopping on the phone. She was always quick to respond and was very helpful when planning our day and making sure we had time to get all the pictures we wanted. She was so patient and was a calming presence during the actual wedding day. Our preview photos came back and we were amazed with how they turned out. We are so excited to get the balance of our photos. I can't recommend Golden Door Photography enough for your wedding or other celebration!

Elizabeth Willis Photo
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000
  • Serves Groton, MA

I'm a hybrid film + digital photographer who loves squishing baby cheeks and is terrible at making the bed. I'm a glass-half-full kind of gal who loves naming and caring for my plant babies, creating new cocktail recipes, the color yellow, and twinkle lights. Collaborating with clients to make images that tell your story is what drives my art. I strive to be inclusive, so if you aren't seeing yourself reflected in my portfolio, I aim to change that to make sure others feel seen too. I'm a sucker for weddings that include pieces of family history and love creating images that will be dog-eared and adored for generations to come.

I've worked with Elizabeth Willis Photos as a client and as a professional in the wedding industry. I'm a florist in the wedding industry and Elizabeth shot a wedding we both worked on. I was thrilled with the photos that I got back of my work. Not everyone can capture the beauty of flowers. It sounds funny, but there is a special talent for it, and Elizabeth has it. Not only did she capture the flowers beautifully, but all the soft and quiet moments of the couple as well. Once I saw that, I knew I had to book her for a family session. The session was comfortable and fun. I'm usually pretty awkward in photos, so I was completely prepared to have trouble picking the ones I liked. When the proofs were delivered, there was so many good photos to choose from that I elected to purchase more than what was included in the package. I will forever cherish the photos she took of my family!
