Stella Events & Adventures
Rating: 4.0 (1 review)
Braithwaite, LA
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor

Perched on 1,500 acres of picturesque countryside, Stella combines Mother Natures beauty and contemporary sophistication to create the highest level of service and experience. Stella’s vast space, varied venues, and absolute privacy make it an exquisite open canvas for your special day as well as bridal portraits, engagement parties, showers or rehearsal dinners.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Lush gardens
  • Space for a large guest list
  • Allows pets

Venue considerations

  • No free parking
  • Not for you if you're looking for a sleek and contemporary space
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
They were helpful but some things were stressful for us. We paid for the house for the weekend and even paid for the extra room for the rehearsal dinner, and after the rehearsal dinner they wouldn’t let us set up for the reception. The day after the wedding they wouldn’t let us clean out the reception hall until 8am but checkout was at 11, so we were up at 6 just waiting around until we could go in at 8 to clean up. Shelby was extremely helpful and even gave us the nicer rehearsal room due to the heavy rain, but they did shoo us out right at the minute that it ended. I guess you get what you pay for when you have a wedding at a venue though. She answers all our questions and it was a beautiful venue and a beautiful house, but I do wish they had a little more leniency. Felt a little strict. But it was a beautiful venue. Wish we could’ve used the pool but the mosquitoes were too bad at night.

House of Broel
Rating: 4.0 (3 reviews)
New Orleans, LA
  • Up to 100 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Outdoor

House of Broel was built as a story and a half family dwelling in 1850 in the Garden District of New Orleans. In 1884 the family decided they needed room for weddings and parties so they had the house lifted, making it a two and a half story mansion that we use today for events as they did back centuries ago. The Victorian style makes for the perfect romantic setting for your wedding, as well as the enjoyment of being on historic Saint Charles Avenue with its access to many five star hotels and the Street Car line.

Why you'll love this venue

  • All-inclusive venue packages
  • Historic touches
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Not for you if you are drawn to more unconventional venues
I was so happy to have been able to have given my niece the best day of her life. I had the honor of walking her down the aisle, since her father passed away. Thanks to House of Broel the evening was everything she dreamed of. The outside garden setting was so romantic. The highlight of the evening was my uncle age 94 on the dance floor for his last dance in life. My niece said it was so much fun having her family and friends all dancing in the iconic ballroom. Great DJ! The whole staff made us feel welcome and relaxed. I highly recommend this venue. It was a true New Orleans experience

From our first conversation with the Patterson team, we knew we'd found the right venue. Margaret Place
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
New Orleans, LA
  • Up to 180 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $5,000

Margaret Place is a dynamic, authentically New Orleans venue that seamlessly blends historic charm with modern sophistication. Located in the heart of the Lower Garden District, this meticulously restored 1854 Greek Revival townhouse and its classic courtyard offer a versatile space for events of all sizes, along with a boutique hotel that celebrates the city’s vibrant culture and spirit. More than just a venue, Margaret Place is a welcoming space designed for unburdened leisure and extraordinary moments. It connects guests to the culture-bearers of New Orleans through a philosophy rooted in generosity, flexibility, and timeless architectural beauty. The two-and-a-half-story, three-bay sidehall mansion offers contemporary interiors, custom furniture, and concealed state-of-the-art infrastructure for maximum flexibility. With its prime location, effortless planning process, and minimal restrictions, clients can create a truly personalized New Orleans experience without compromise.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides catering services
  • Designed for grand celebrations
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • Not for you if you are looking for something nontraditional
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Does not have a dance floor
My only regret is that I only get to be married at Margaret Place once. This venue was perfect for our 200 person wedding. I would recommend this venue to anyone for anything. The space is beautiful, the bridal suite is stunning and gigantic, and the owners and staff are highly competent and friendly. The pricing was very reasonable and quite competitive for a venue of this quality in New Orleans, especially considering we were putting this wedding together relatively last minute. For additional context: Margaret Place saved the day after another venue permanently closed and canceled an existing contract six months before our wedding date. Thankfully, Margaret Place was available for the same date and made us feel comfortable and confident from our very first meeting. The owners are very involved in the wedding planning process and know what they are doing; they are well-connected with vendors in the city and know what kinds of things work best in the venue. We heard nothing but positivity from all of our guests as to the beauty and execution of the event at this venue. As a testament to their competence, Margaret Place is probably the only venue in the whole city with a website as detailed as theirs is. I want to also highlight that Margaret Place owns their own tent and only needs four-hours-notice to deploy it in the event of rain. Luckily, it didn't rain during our April wedding, but I felt very comforted knowing that I didn't have to hire an extra vendor to execute a rain plan and that Margaret Place was so adaptable. On the topic of adaptability, the drink options offered by this venue are highly customizable. You can adjust hours for open/cash bar service down to the minute, determine specialty cocktails and a frozen drink to be offered during the wedding, and purchase liquor of your choice at wholesale pricing to be offered to your guests when setting out for a second line, and all of this is accounted for/discounted very fairly in pricing with the venue. I'll also note that this place has an awesome balcony set-up for a DJ. There is so much I could compliment about this place. I'll end by saying that the after party we had at Margaret Place was SO FUN. Smoke machines, synced lights, and an excellent sound system kept the party going.

I was married at First Presbyterian Church and found them to be the epitome of God Is Love! The church staff was welcoming and accommodating to give couples and parents a "church" wedding that feels right for both generations. Not too many rules about music or ceremony, welcoming guest ministers. We used the church's minister and couldn't have been happier. The building is gorgeous on the inside and outside, great acoustics, an old fashioned church bell, and a great center aisle to walk down. I love all of my pictures and memories.

The Historic Swoop-Duggins was the perfect place for my husband and I to hold our wedding celebration! The house is beautiful all on its own and has a lot of interesting history, which was a major draw for us as we wanted to have a very New Orleans-style wedding. The proprietor/GM, Linda Novak, guided us through all the options and offered recommendations and helpful tips for vendors and second line bands. Chef Lisa took wonderful care in helping us create a delicious menu of Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya, blackened Swordfish, fingerling potatoes, house-made focaccia, chilled and grilled shrimp, and a seasonal vegetable salad. She was so attentive to ours and our guests' various dietary restrictions (we received compliments all night and all weekend long, even from locals!). The bar director, Taylor, curated fun and delicious cocktails and mocktails to bring the Nola spirit. Try the Baroness Spritz! Our special events coordinator Meghann and onsite venue coordinator Rashaad, helped us figure out every detail so that we could have a well thought-out and smooth evening curated to our vision. The night ran beautifully! Every person we spoke with had a favorite staff member who made them feel welcomed, at home, and taken care of. They were all wonderful! Special shoutout to Thyme for taking wonderful care of my husband and I all night long- making sure we got to eat the delicious food, had plenty of water and drinks to keep us going, and an overall warm-hearted delight (she was such a gem giving me beautiful words before I walked down the aisle)! My husband, myself, our family, and all of our friends who traveled from near and far, had a beautiful and unforgettable time!
