While, I craft my videos around the love you share, the fun you have when it's just the two of you as well as the celebration with your family/guests is what makes each story so unique. I was born and raised in Ukraine where I studied at a law school. When I moved to the USA in 2016, I dramatically switched my career path from a lawyer to a digital artist. I got a degree in Media Arts and Filmmaking and started shooting dance, fashion, music, and became a wedding videographer located in Chicago.

My name is Lance and I'm the owner of J'adore Video, based in Chicago and serving happy couples all over the world! I started filming weddings professionally in 2007 and have filmed over 400 weddings in my career, covering many different cultures, faiths, and beliefs.

Basketball was my first love and even in my thirties I still daydream about playing in the NBA. John Severson graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2004 with degrees in Anthropology and Film. His passion for film has taken him all over the world, from Vietnam to Zanzibar. John is a Chicagoland native. After graduating and traveling, he returned back to Chicago’s Lakeview and South Loop neighborhoods. In 2009, he married his wife Sarah, and moved back to their native Oak Park to raise their two children, Stella and George. John is always available to chat with you about your ideas and answer any questions. He’s excited getting to know you as a couple and share your vision for your wedding day.

Our approach to wedding filmmaking is simple- deliver the most sincere, organic recollection of the day by acting as unnoticeably as possible. By eliminating the pressures of being filmed, our couples are able to enjoy each moment of their day and be truly present in the experience, providing us with an authentic and emotional collection of frames. Monday through Friday we shoot food, ads, TV, live events, products videos, documentaries, narrative films, corporate stuff and more. But when the weekend rolls around, we shoot weddings. Our appreciation for directing and videography is rivaled by none. Whether you want something candid and simple or a more elaborately planned wedding video, we'll be there- caffeinated and ready to go! I fell in love with watching people be in love! You can't find a better gig. I went on to receive my Bachelor of Arts in 2019. I've really been able to put my education to work in regards to all things wedding films. When I'm not shooting weddings, I am doing real estate photography, binge watching Bob's Burgers and Saturday Night Live, or most likely eating something delicious. ;)
