About Whole Heart Video

Monday through Friday we shoot food, ads, TV, live events, products videos, documentaries, narrative films, corporate stuff and more. But when the weekend rolls around, we shoot weddings. Our appreciation for directing and videography is rivaled by none. Whether you want something candid and simple or a more elaborately planned wedding video, we'll be there- caffeinated and ready to go! We can now boast that 6 of Chicago’s best videographers are on the Whole Heart Video associate roster. To keep quality high (and to make sure we have back up shooters), we limit the number of weddings accepted to 3 per day.

We aren't trying to create some hollywood movie with swooping, cinematic shots- We are trying to capture the joy, laughter and happy tears that accompany the wedding day in the most beautiful and candid way that we possibly can. Our goal is to weave together stories and anecdotes from the ceremony and reception with lively b-roll to create a wedding video that makes you both laugh and cry on EVERY watch.

Ceremony + Reception Package

Description

These edited Ceremony + Reception videos are what most folks watch on their anniversary and what the future kiddos want to see. We’ll start and end each video with about 45 seconds of B-roll with overlaid music to set the scene. The Ceremony Reel includes everything from walking down the aisle to walking back up the aisle. The Reception Reel includes grand entrances, cake cutting, speeches, dances, as well as cocktail hour and open dance floor.

Small Highlight Package

Description

The wedding highlight is our most wanted video and for good reason! We can create a small wedding highlight video that hovers around 3- 4 minutes in length as well as a longer wedding highlight video that clocks in around 10-15 minutes. Highlight videos are great ways to see an overview of your big day. They are fun, light-hearted and our couples love watching them. We love making them too- So, it’s a win-win! Plus you get a full ceremony + reception reel with this package:)

Long Highlight Package

Description

The long highlight is the industry standard 10-15 minute edited wedding video. It allows you to go back and really immerse yourself in the wedding day. It’s underscored with music and truly is a comprehensive look at the prep, ceremony, reception and everything in between. Plus you get a second shooter, a small highlight, a ceremony reel, and a reception reel

    We had the absolute honor of working with Ben & Nikolai for our recent wedding. We had friends who chose them for their wedding in March of 2025, so when it came time for us to pick someone, Whole Heart Video was at the top of our list. From our first call to wedding day, things were exactly what you hope for when in the chaos of wedding planning: simple, efficient, and you feel understood. Once the wedding day arrived, as someone doing all the planning myself, it felt awesome to not have to micromanage Ben or Niko and to trust them to capture incredible moments in a style that truly reflected us. There was also a moment we had told Ben we wanted captured and he made sure to find us and make sure we got it, that meant the world to us!  I appreciate their approach because they make you feel completely comfortable, especially if you’re not someone who is used to being the center of attention.  Their communication, attitudes, and kindness are standout among the MANY reasons we would recommend them.  We haven’t even received our finished product yet, as we JUST got married last week, but I know it is going to be something we cherish for the rest of our lives and we feel such happiness that Ben & Niko captured our day!

    We LOVE our videos!

    Whole Heart Video was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. Their communication style was fast, friendly, and fun - they made the entire process really enjoyable. The quality of their work is incredible, we laughed and cried watching our final video and all of our friends have gotten emotional after seeing it too. Ben, our videographer, really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable on camera and even helped us set up a live stream so my grandmother who couldn't attend could watch the ceremony. Yes! We’re happy to send a copy of our certificate of liability insurance to your venue or any other vendors upon request.
We like to show off our work on youtube and tag other vendors. This is the best way we know how to get future work- It speaks for itself. That said, if you would like to keep your video private, simply let us know and we would be happy to oblige!
Don't let anyone tell you that you NEED 2 videographers to shoot a wedding. One shooter can usually handle a basic set up of 2x cameras (one on a tripod), 2x external audio sources (like lav mics), and a LED light. I find having more than one shooter comes in handy if you are getting ready in different locations or if you are having a ceremony in a religious institution or you have over 200 guests in attendance. I'd be happy to field a call, talk through your wedding and let you know my candid opinion!
