“Tyson and Sam at Skinny Boy Media were one of my favorite vendors at my wedding. It is so so hard to choose a DJ because you've been to other weddings and had trauma from terrible DJ's that play the same old songs that are awful. Or they don't announce things at the right time or just don't communicate. This was my fear. I was recommended Skinny Boy Media from my photographer in Cincy. Then I noticed he was in Cleveland and I am located in South Central Ohio (where there are no good DJ's). I was so nervous that I was going to have a massive upcharge due to travelling 4.5 hours. I reached out and got a quote from him and discussed the type of wedding I wanted with the music and flow of things. He communicated amazing right from the start and was transparent in pricing and had no problem whatsoever travelling to Southern Ohio/Northern KY. Whew! Then I dragged my feet because this is a large decision. The website of DJ's are hard to tell what they are like. It's not like you can go to a wedding they are at and see if you like it, haha! But then as I looked on a Facebook group of Ohio Bride's to Be I noticed his name kept getting referenced. Which was a good hint. Then I talked to him further about uplighting and Photobooth services for the night. I kept delaying again... Then he reached out to me again telling me someone else wanted my date (July 8) if I didn't want it. That sealed the deal and I paid the deposit online. My husband and I completed a detailed form he provided on Google Docs to say what songs we wanted during what time. And what songs we did not want! We had a video chat with him describing ourselves, the vibe we wanted for our wedding, etc. We are 28yrs and wanted a middle school dance party vibe. I also didn't want songs switched every other minute, but transitioned nicely with reading the crowd. I also asked for some Disney songs during dinner. Man did he deliver!!! It was a party!! And he politely communicated with me during the night, asking if I was ready to begin the dances, the speeches, let dinner tables go to the buffet, etc. We also added a game from 4H camp called Bring-Me and he had it organized on his iPad, let my sister run the game on the mic, etc. The photo booth also sent photos to each person and I got a google drive link to all of them. I chose the Ivy wall with props. I did not choose to have a glow light in the photo background, but that is an option. The 30 uplights literally pulled everything together in the long room! (70ft x 30ft). He was on time, stayed till the end as expected. He also helped create a super special memory for my husband and I that I didn't even plan for! At the end (11:30pm) he had everyone go outside or towards the end of the building and he played "At Last" with just my husband and I. It was so perfect to end the night. If you made it this far...I hope I've convinced you to HIRE SKINNY BOY MEDIA!!! He will communicate like you want, provide a clear contract, provide uplights & a photo booth, travel to your venue without complications, keep things running smooth and does a great job!!”

I was so worried our wedding would have an empty dancefloor considering the big age range and being hard to appeal to lots of generations, but John and John did so seamlessly. After a lot of shopping around during wedding planning, I believe the price of their services is of good value. As an add-on, I also opted to do uplighting. This was battery powered and had dynamic color-changing. The battery powered part is important for older venues that may not have as many outlets, and also avoids the trip hazard of too many wires on the floor. All and all 10/10 experience. Thank you!”

On the day of the wedding Terrell was at a venue he has never worked at before but set up and communication was seamless. He kept the party going and had the dance floor packed all night (one of the most important things for us that night). We didn't give him a playlist; just more like some guidelines and he did an amazing job. He came up to me and my husband to ensure we were happy (and even fed!). He communicated with me and the photographer to ensure all the big moments were captured before the photographer had to leave which was so nice because the thought to do that had not even occurred to me. Whether you wish for elegant classical music, toe-tapping fiddle tunes, or a favorite popular song, I can help you find that perfect sound! I offer high-end wedding sound at an affordable price. The instrument on which I perform is a gorgeous sounding violin made by MacArthur "genius" grant winner, Joseph Curtin. For outdoor weddings I use a Fishman SA330X Performance Audio System which provides terrific amplification without sacrificing the purity of acoustic violin.

“Devin was the perfect touch for our outdoor ceremony. There are not adequate words to describe his musicianship and talent. He went out of his way to make sure that he played exactly what we wanted. Devin also played at our reception and asked our guests if they wanted to hear something specific. My Austrian side of the family asked him to play "Edelweiss," which he promptly began to play. I can not rate this musician high enough. He also played the music for our first dance, which he learned, recorded at different speeds, added bars to the recording, and again, went out of his way to deliver the greatest day of our lives. I highly recommend Devin, and if I ever need a violinist/fiddler again, Devin is the only person I am going to call. As far as professionalism goes, Devin arrived early, and had everything that he needed. He also gave us options for what effects we wanted to come from the speaker. He was quick to respond to emails and we never had any problems getting in touch with him. This musician is a real professional.”
