We spent 11 months planning every detail, and booking Golden Bell Music as one of our very first vendors was hands-down the best decision we made. The band/DJ hybrid concept? Pure genius! It absolutely delivers the best of both worlds, and they pulled it off flawlessly. But really, the biggest shout-out – and the core of this whole review – belongs to the phenomenal Marlon Aldana, our DJ and drummer. We first spotted him in action on Golden Bell's Instagram, and it was an instant "that's our guy!" moment. You can imagine our excitement when we found out he was available for our date! We decided to do something a little different and host it in a wine cellar, and Marlon and his team elevated it beyond anything we could have imagined. When they brought in a fog machine, the entire atmosphere transformed. It wasn't just a party; it was an experience! That fog machine honestly MADE the party, turning the space into something truly epic. I genuinely can't picture it having the same incredible energy without it, so a massive thank you for that unexpected, perfect touch. And because we had a masquerade theme, I asked if the DJs would wear disco masks and they SAID YES and wore them the entire time, even after I told them they absolutely didn't have to for more than one song! It just created such an amazing vibe, and we've got the pictures to prove how much fun everyone had! There's just so much to appreciate about this incredible group. “We hired Bob Gail's dance band "Higher Ground" for our wedding last month at the Bel Air Bay Club. Having a live band at our wedding was always my dream but admittedly not my fiancee's or her family's. Any skepticsim completely evaporated by the time the wedding reception started. Our band--11 pieces, including trombone--was spectacular. I really can't say enough about how fun the evening was with Higher Ground leading the dance floor. We, and all our guests, danced non-stop. From start to finish, the band's song selections perfectly matched the energy throughout the evening. Every member was super talented, with the lead singers perfectly capturing the sound and feel of the original songs but with an energy that is only possible performed live. We were seriously impressed with their sheer versatility, jumping effortlessly between different genres and eras. We also had a few specific requests that the band very flexibily accommodated. We had choreography for our first dance and the band offered to rehearse with us before the reception. We also wanted to play some recorded songs during the band's breaks and they wove our songs into their own set list seamlessly. Bob Gail also offered a very intuitive song selection tool on which we could specify which songs we wanted to hear at the wedding. They even went out of their way to learn a song that was not part of their set list but that they knew we love. The band members were also incredibly friendly and gracious. They felt like a part of the family for the night. Even now, a month after the wedding, we still have family members tell us how great the band was and one guest even told me she can't wait to hire them for her own son's wedding no matter the cost.”

“I am writing this review wayyyy too late (a little over 2 years after my wedding) and it has been eating me away inside because I need to give Michelle(aka Haute Mobile Disco) all the praise she deserves. As a wedding planner myself, I had worked with Michelle and Ian previously and found them to be so sweet and easy to work with as well as extremely professional. All of their paperwork to fill out in advance for which genres of music I wanted was super easy and helpful to get exactly the vibes we were looking for. They created the PERFECT playlist and had my guests on the dancefloor literally the entire night. I added a live Saxophone which was the perfect addition. He was incredible. It created such a fun and interactive experience for my guests that they are still raving about. Michelle was so flexible with all my crazy song choices, a few which weren’t easy to find, as well as my idea to have a re-introduction when I chopped off my hair during the reception and came back out in a sequin jumpsuit. She did the perfect introduction and made the dancefloor feel like a night at the Grammy’s instead of a humble backyard wedding. “The Moon Units made my wedding. It all started when my wife (fiancee at the time) forwarded me an Instagram clip of them because she knew I was set on hiring a live band. I took my sweet time to cast a wide net and to follow, interview, and compare A LOT of bands. We went out to watch our top two choices and when we saw The Moon Units' positive energy, ability to rock the crowd, and musical skill, we immediately knew that they were meant to be our band (just like when we saw the venue we wanted, we just knew). They are highly accommodating, musically versatile, and truly professional, Hollywood type performers who will seal the deal on upgrading your wedding from already great to one of the greatest your guests have ever been to. The three things that most impressed me about them during my wedding were: 1) they gave it their all on every song whether there were two people on the dance floor or the whole group (and believe me, your guests will notice this too), 2) they were able to improvise to seamlessly integrate with all my other vendors and moving parts without any interruptions, as if my wedding was truly an entertainment production, and 3) whether they were singing rock, hiphop (yacht version), metal, r&b, pop, Kpop, oldies, or jazz, they performed as if it was their main genre. We requested them to learn two of our favorite songs that we loved but were skeptical that they could perform because of how hard they were to sing, and man did they prove us wrong! Each of the musicians are friendly, multi talented/multi instrument, down to earth people who love what they do and have a great time performing. They output pure sound candy and also look great doing it. Your stage will be glammed up and filled out, and your guests will compliment and remember your band choice even more than your food, I guarantee it. My wife and I are now semi-groupies (and I'm not ashamed as their gigs take me back to the best night of my life), and we aren't the only ones! That's something that no Youtube clip or online review can really convey. Good luck and have a great time wedding planning, but hire The Moon Units!!!”

With Trey, we always had clarity over next steps, and we also got as much flexibility as we could ever hope for. We had a slightly unusual (or, unconventional) ceremony in a couple of ways, and Trey handled every request without any issue. Lastly, and most importantly for a DJ, he nailed the music. We felt like he "got" us while also filling in the gaps appropriately. A true professional, and we feel fortunate having him on the deck for our celebration.”

“Living Jade was the best decision we made for our wedding vendors. They played at our engagement party in Santa Barbara and our actual wedding in San Francisco. Steve encountered an issue with a band member. The singer got sick the day before the wedding, but he found a replacement that was outstanding. His network of musicians allowed him to resolve a major issue. My husband and I were happy that our contract was respected. On top of that, the energy of the band was amazing on stage. We were so happy that our guests were all on the dance floor. I never sweat so much on a dance floor.”

“DJ Nahchey and DASH entertainment do a great job coordinating all your musical needs for any type of event - for us it was our wedding. From the beginning it went smoothly and he and his team are very thorough and responsive. We chose DJ Becca who is very nice and was up our alley of musical taste. Our goal was for a dance vibe type of wedding but there were a few miscues with the songs she played. We’d hope she would read the room better and continue to play songs that she noticed people were enjoying but her transitions between songs were a bit odd. Nonetheless, she was a joy to work with and maybe with a bit more direction (our fault, not hers!) this would be a 5 star review. Highly recommend reaching out to DJ Nahchey and DASH Entertainment, they have many DJs to choose from!”
