Nestled in the historic Old Cottage Grove (est. 1843), our hidden gem of a venue offers a picturesque setting for your special event. Our iconic white gothic arched roof dairy barn, built in 1947 by the Vandenberg family, sits on five acres of pastures and oak trees, overlooking a valley with stunning sunsets. The historic John P. Furber Farm, with its Italianate home, has a rich history dating back to the town's founding. Transformed into a gorgeous wedding venue in 2010, this unique space retains its historic charm while offering modern amenities.

In 1910, President Taft signed the bill to establish Glacier National Park as the country’s 10th national park. Mr. Healy was given a plumbing contractor for the train depot here in St. Paul, where he met Samuel Bartlett, the architect of many of the railroad depots and Glacier National Park Lodge. Healy then commissioned Bartlett to renovate and enlarge the house. In 1914, the farm was sold to John Healy, the owner of Healy Plumbing and Heating Company of St. Paul. Mr. Healy’s company became closely tied to the Great Northern Railroad, as it provided the heating and plumbing for many of the train depots that were being built around the country at that time. The farm was named Hope Glen Farm, the name of John Healy’s mother’s maiden name of Hope, and the house settles in a Glen, thus Hope Glen.

Bloom Lake Barn is a freshly renovated wedding and event venue located in Shafer, Minnesota near the gorgeous St. Croix River. Forestville Winery and Event Center encompasses 17 acres of beauty and serenity. 2026 marks our seventh season hosting events and memories to guests. Our climate controlled Event Building features spacious room for 175+ guests in a “country elegant” décor. The building features a Bride’s suite with full bathroom and private patio. Also inside is a wine, beer and liquor bar, a catering kitchen, a food serving area, and spacious restrooms. The Forestville property is also home to a completely renovated one room School constructed in 1897 and used as a school until 1964. The School building houses our wine, beer and liquor tasting room and also the Groom’s Suite.
