Lovely barn venue with a wonderful host

If you are looking for a picturesque barn wedding, this is the perfect venue. A historic barn with gorgeous lighting in a lovely farm setting. Located only 40 minutes from the Twin Cities it’s easy access and a lovely drive. Local hotels only 1 mile away. The venue owner is so warm and friendly, she felt like family. She was a great communicator and well organized. She handled all of the details so we could focus on the joy of the day. She also recommended good local vendors and worked seamlessly with our caterer. I was impressed that she also provided decor items that saved money and time. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding.

    Large wedding issues

My husband (!!) and I got married here in late August 2026. We chose the venue because of its beauty, location, and flexibility, and we were very happy with those aspects. Unfortunately, our experience in trying to coordinate a large wedding with the venue owner felt very disorganized on their part, and we ultimately incurred thousands of dollars in unexpected costs that we believe resulted from their lack of communication, organizational issues, and inexperience. Many of our emails regarding important logistics went unanswered for months. We were also unable to reach the venue owner about alcohol service until the week of our wedding, which prevented us from planning the cocktails we had originally envisioned. We were given different information about alcohol service fees than we had initially been told, adding lots of unnecessary stress immediately before the wedding. We were additionally charged for replacing tablecloths weeks after the fact due to what appeared to be quite normal food stains that they were unable to handle. We were told there would be additional ventilation and decorations in the barn, but these were not prepared. Our vendors had issues sourcing power on the day of, despite reassurances by the venue that they would have extension cords ready to go, and our vendors had to scramble on the day of the wedding. Overall, the venue logistics felt disorganized throughout the planning process and on the wedding day itself. Everyone we interacted with was kind, and the venue itself is beautiful. However, based on our experience, we would not recommend this venue for any large or complex event.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m sorry parts of your experience didn’t meet your expectations, and I want to clarify several details so future couples have a better understanding of what happened. We had multiple Zoom meetings discussing both logistics and alcohol options and pricing, and I explained several times that a full open bar would be quite costly. Your initial selections estimated around $5,000, and you were upset that you would not get the alcohol pricing at my cost. After reviewing the price, you chose to adjust your drink preferences. I lowered your liquor pricing from $6–$7 per drink to $5 to help reduce your total cost. On the wedding day, I also provided extra Jack Daniels, Crown Royal, and wine at the same discounted rate to ensure your guests were satisfied with the options available. The barn was fully prepared, equipped with two fans and a full built-in ventilation system. You rented additional fans, and I personally helped move them into the barn to increase airflow. My crew and I also spent over an hour assisting your DJ, who was feeling overwhelmed during setup, to make sure everything ran smoothly. My generator supplied continuous power all day and night for your tent lighting and DJ equipment without interruption. Cleanup required three 55-gallon bags of cans, cups, plates, and trash left on tables and scattered throughout the barn. What normally takes one hour took three hours due to the condition of the space—I did not charge you for the additional clean-up. Finally, FIFTEEN 120-inch SCUBA tablecloths that had only been used twice, were returned with multiple large stains that neither I nor a professional cleaner could remove, so the replacement cost was taken from the damage deposit. I care deeply about every couple’s experience at The Lotus Ranch and always aim to be fully transparent, supportive, and accommodating. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify these details and wish you both the very best moving forward.

    Rustic chic

From our first conversation with the team at Lotus Ranch, we knew we had found our venue. Their communication was clear and direct throughout the entire planning process, making it easy to understand what to expect and how everything would come together. The space itself is charming with an authentic beauty that didn't require much decoration on our part. What really stood out was how the owner went above and beyond on our wedding day—bringing dinner to one of our guests and ensuring that we had everything we needed. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend Lotus Ranch to any couple looking for a genuine, welcoming venue.

    Beautiful Venue

We had our wedding at the Lotus Ranch and Teresa was great to work with. She was detailed, conscientious, and very helpful, regularly checking in to make sure everything was going smoothly. The venue itself was beautiful and inviting, with an open landscape and cozy corners. Teresa was flexible and accommodating for our all of our needs. We appreciated her willingness to work with us on our special requests, and found the overall value to be very affordable. We would highly recommend The Lotus Ranch to anyone looking for a countryside wedding venue.
