In the 1950s & 60s, The Bronx was home to an amazing photographer that captured weddings and family events. His name? Warren Meurer aka the “Silverfox” (due to his flowing silver and gray locks). Fast forward to the early 1990s, Warren’s grandson, John Salkowsky, decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and open a wedding photography and video studio. Born & Raised in Southern NJ, just outside of Philly, which is my favorite city in the world, next to Seattle. Taking in breathtaking pieces of nature, slowly becoming a beach bum, and being a Tea pig are my current hobbies. My grandmother first taught me to use a 35mm camera, and my passion and interest for photography have been unending. So combining this love with the love of others, seemed to be a perfect idea. I've been in business for over 10 years. What started out as a hobby in fashion, photographing my daughters fashions shows and an unfortunate work injury led me to wedding photography. I heard lots of horror stories about photographers. What I feel was missing is the relationship between the couples and the photographer. I'm not driven by money so therefor I can communicate and build a relationship based on honesty, communication and trust

We include an Engagement Session with our packages as we believe in getting to know our couples personally so in the end your pictures are uniquely yours. We use two photographers and a lighting assistant with the majority of event packages to ensure that NOTHING gets in the way of getting the stunning pictures you deserve. From NY to TX, then back again... I started my photography adventure 10 years ago in a small studio in upstate, New York. My name is Lauren McCarthy. My parents, photographers Wendy & Charlie McCarthy began Weefan Photography in 2001. At 11, I started watching them photograph events and weddings, and the first wedding I photographed, just as I remember my first day of school. For the past fourteen years, I have mastered each and every job related to the wedding photography business. After graduating from Siena college in 2019, I was invited by my parents to manage our family's business of professional photography, and assume the duties of managing our New York Office. ​
