Activities may be located in full sun, in the shade of tall 100' eucalyptus or under 50 year-old walnut trees planted by Monroe himself. Heritage Park is a historic site that is operated by the City of Santa Fe Springs. The City has restored the buildings and grounds of an elegant ranch that prospered here in the late 1800's. After being blacklisted during the McCarthy Era, Will Geer & his wife, fellow actress, Herta Ware, established Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga, California providing a safe haven for other blacklisted artists such as Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger. Geer's resurgence came with playing Grandpa Zebulon "Zeb" Walton in "The Waltons," leading to the formation of a non-profit theatre.
