The Villa at Ridder Country Club was an amazing venue for our wedding. The staff were so communicative and responsive throughout the planning process, which made things much easier on us. The venue itself is gorgeous - the outdoor ceremony area is surrounded by lush gardens and fountains, while the ballroom has beautiful tall ceilings and chandeliers. For the quality of the venue and service, we felt the prices were very reasonable. The staff were respectful, nice, and truly seemed invested in making sure our special day went smoothly. From start to finish, the Villa exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have asked for a better venue and highly recommend them to any engaged couple looking for the perfect wedding location.

From our first conversation with Anne at Sapphire Estate, we knew we had found the right venue for our wedding. She was responsive throughout the entire planning process and made us feel like we were her top priority, almost like an extension of our own planning team. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous with its modern and luxurious design, and it provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Anne's warm smile and genuine care were present every step of the way, and on our wedding day, the entire staff showed up with the same supportive energy that made us feel so taken care of. I honestly don’t even know where to begin. Our experience with The Lakehouse—especially with Daniella—was nothing short of incredible. From the very start, when we were just debating whether to choose them as our venue, they were beyond helpful in finding a date and time that worked best for my now-husband and me. We're from Massachusetts but currently living in Arizona, so you'd think planning a wedding from across the country would be difficult. Not with Daniella. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt like I was getting the full red carpet experience despite the distance. She was always available to hop on a call, pulled strings behind the scenes to make everything perfect, and honestly felt more like a best friend throughout the entire process. I seriously begged her to just join the party at one point! If you’re on the fence about choosing The Lakehouse—do it. It’s worth every single penny. I could list a million things that went wrong during the overall planning process and even on the wedding day, but none of it had anything to do with Saphire Event Group. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Aubre and Cortney. While I didn’t work with them as closely as I did with Daniella, I met them the morning of the wedding and they instantly made me feel comfortable and welcomed. They advocated for me when I needed it, provided reassurance, and made me feel like I was their top priority the entire day. And yes—it rained on my wedding day. But I loved this venue so much that being inside didn’t even faze me. The transition from the outdoor setup to the indoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception was absolutely seamless. I honestly don’t know how this team operates with such perfection, but I’m telling you—they do. Thank you all for making me feel so supported and at home during one of the most vulnerable times in my life. And Daniella—a huge thank you for all your care, support, and empathy during the MAJOR bumps in the road. I truly don’t know what my wedding day would’ve looked like without you, I probably would've convinced Bryan top elope instead. One hundred time over, thank you SOO much Daniella, you're made for this. Your humanity went a long way for me and its because of you my day was perfect. LOVE YOU ALL!!! ps.. I'd like to add how attentive the servers and bartenders were. I saw them very little, however, when I did encounter them they were super kind and there to do one thing - amazing customer service. I only heard positive comments about EVERY staff member at The Lakehouse. I also cannot forget the chief, I was so overwhelmed by guest raving how top tier the food was. Thank you all for delivering the absolute best experience to our family and friend... and vendors!

From start to finish, Sydney was absolutely amazing! She answered all of our questions, was incredibly responsive, and remained flexible throughout the entire planning process. On our wedding day, Sydney was on top of every detail, making sure everything flowed seamlessly. Even when unexpected mishaps came up, she handled every situation with professionalism, grace, and a calm demeanor that put us at ease. Our bridal attendant Amy was top notch and was a pleasure to work with. Avenir is a stunning venue, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision to celebrate our wedding there. Spacious open floor plan Bank of operable, glass garage doors that open up to adjacent landscaped patio / outdoor space High ceilings with exposed steel roof trusses Catering prep room Dedicated bathrooms State-of-the-art audio system and large bandwidth WIFI Heating and air conditioning

Why you'll love this venue

  • Space for a large guest list
  • Has a relaxed and casual vibe
  • Pets can join the celebration

Venue considerations

  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
  • Dance floor not included
  • Does not provide event staff
When searching for a venue, we were looking for an industrial aesthetic with the flexibility to use our own vendors, and Garage B checked all the boxes. We absolutely loved this space. It’s the perfect blank canvas for any occasion, and we appreciated the freedom to incorporate multiple unique vendors. For our wedding, we had a taco stand, an ice cream truck, a caricature artist, and a raw bar—all of which made for a memorable experience. What stood out most was the ability to blend Asian traditions with a modern twist, creating a day that truly reflected us. A unique feature of Garage B is the garage doors, which you can utilize creatively to enhance the event's flow and aesthetic. Jenna was wonderful to work with—she was highly responsive, supportive, and instrumental in bringing our vision to life. The only small challenge was our guest count. We were the first to host 200 guests in the space, which created an intimate and romantic atmosphere, but guests were seated quite close together. For future events, I would recommend a guest count closer to 150-180 for a bit more breathing room. Despite this, everything came together beautifully, and we had an incredible wedding day. Thank you to the team at Garage B for helping us create such a special event!

Our experience with the DoubleTree hotel was great, and made even more so with the help of Giselle, the event manager. She used her in-depth experience with the space and other events she had helped organize to help us make the best use of the hotel, and on the day-of was there to help coordinate with our vendors. We couldn't have done it without her and DoubleTree!

The space itself has so much character with a beautiful patio, firepit, and fun banquet room that gave us plenty of options for how to lay everything out. What really impressed us was how accommodating the staff was throughout the planning process and on the day itself, from setting up amenities in the room to handling all the little details that made our day special. Dillon's
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
Boston, MA
  • Up to 260 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $4,000

Built in 1887 and a historic Boston landmark, the venue is named after Captain S. Dillon, who was stationed here from 1920-1950. Like its namesake, Dillon's is known for its warm hospitality, friendly staff, and spirited nightlife. Thanks to its All-American menu, two floors of space to gather, and the best patio in the back bay, Dillon's is a local favorite.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Promotes a party atmosphere
  • Space for a large guest list
  • Provides catering services

Venue considerations

  • Limited cleanup and setup services
  • Dance floor not included
  • Does not provide event staff
We hosted a rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Dillon’s in August. The location was great and the back bar was well sized for our group (20 for dinner and 80 for the party). The events coordinator worked with us to pick a menu and iron out logistics (mostly how to transition from dinner to party, and how much food to order, etc.), and was very transparent on pricing. All in all, the food and drinks were excellent and the atmosphere was lively – exactly what we wanted!

We cannot recommend Pagu highly enough for your wedding or event. From the very first email, they were unlike any of the venues we had reached out to. Overall, Pagu is flexible, which not only made wedding planning MUCH less stressful, but it made our wedding personal to us. Every time we had a question, they had an answer and a solution. You’re not messing around with rentals for plates, chairs, tables, linens or tons of decor. The space is beautiful and already functions so well as a restaurant, allowing you to just be their guest on your wedding day. The FOOD! Multiple guests came up to us and said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Everything was hot, fresh, aesthetically plated and delicious. The family style sharing was relaxed, fun and nobody had to wait in line. The cake was so light and beautifully decorated. Day-of, what really stood out was the exceptional service and kindness we received from the entire team at Pagu. Everyone who works there was so positive, accommodating, and thoughtful. When I was “hiding” before the ceremony, the team delivered an entire tea/coffee service with some of the food to make sure I got something to eat! When we got back to our hotel, we found a portion of each dish in our fridge, just because they heard we hadn’t finished our second course or dessert while we were socializing. It was above and beyond thoughtful! Beyond taking extremely good care of us, all of our guests commented that it was one of the most relaxing weddings because the Pagu team thought of everything. At most weddings, there’s not a server checking in with you about your allergies, restrictions, and if you would like a drink. Since Pagu is a restaurant, you get outstanding restaurant-quality service. They even made a last minute, individual substitution for a new dietary restriction on the spot, and allowed that guest to enjoy the food, too! Another huge bonus was there was almost no bar line, since they’re used to making drinks for this many people! Other highlights of our experience include doing the cocktail creation session with Jimmy. We aren’t big drinkers, so we almost didn’t do this, but we are so glad we did - it was a blast, and the guests loved the personal cocktails. We highly recommend it! The space is gorgeous, the people are a dream, and the food was outstanding. Amanda (the venue coordinator/manager) was so easy to work with and on top of everything. Even our very traditional families (who were very skeptical when we said we were getting married at a restaurant) said afterwards it was one of the best weddings they’d been to. All photos credited to Franzi Annika Photography!

Cambridge Boat Club
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
CAMBRIDGE, MA
  • Up to 120 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $4,000

Cambridge Boat Club is a social and rowing club, located on the banks of the Charles River overlooking Eliot Bridge. Originally built in 1909, CBC was picked up in its entirety and rolled upstream to its current location in 1947, to make room for the building of Memorial Drive. Featuring vaulted ceilings and dark exposed beams akin to a ski chalet, and double french doors opening to a full length veranda, CBC offers a unique, rustic setting for any event.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Raw space for complete customization
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup
The Cambridge Boat Club was the perfect choice for our New England fall-themed wedding! It is an absolutely gorgeous location on the river with just the right amount of historic charm. We had originally considered going with all-inclusive venues, but ultimately opted for the flexibility we had with the CBC to craft our own vision. The venue features two distinct rooms, a larger room called the Drinkwater room, which can be used for the wedding dinner, the Club Room, which was used for cocktail hour and the dance floor, and a porch, which has a stunning view. The layout perfectly accommodated both the party enthusiasts and our more introverted guests, who preferred quieter spaces for rest and socialization away from the dance floor. Opting for this venue requires a more DIY approach compared to all-inclusive options. Since it is a historic building, there are some restrictions to be aware of, e.g. no sparklers or ceiling drapery, and existing wall decor generally need to stay on the wall. This was no issue for us since we had a clear vision for the wedding theme and decor, and enlisted the help of Tastings Catering (highly recommend, since they have previous experience working in this space and also handle some of the decor) and Designlight. Major shoutout to Katie Donnelly, the club manager at Cambridge Boat Club, who always responded in record time to all our inquiries and provided helpful guidance. With everyone's help, we were able to create the wedding of our dreams!

For over 50 years, our farm-to-table restaurant in Cambridge has provided a welcoming setting for weddings and special events. We offer thoughtfully sourced, seasonal menus and versatile spaces for every part of your celebration, including rehearsal dinners, bridal showers, receptions, and farewell brunches. Named by Eater as Boston’s Best Private Dining Rooms for Weddings, our venue is known for exceptional service, seamless planning, and a dining experience that highlights the best of New England ingredients. Whether you're hosting an intimate gathering or a larger event, we provide a refined yet comfortable atmosphere tailored to your needs. Harvest is part of the Himmel Hospitality Group and sister restaurant to Grill 23 & Bar, The Banks Seafood & Steak, and Bistro du Midi.

We celebrated an intimate wedding with 15 family members (14 adults and a baby) at Harvest in their Fireplace room. The day was absolute perfection- the room was spacious yet cozy on a frigid 10 degree day, the service was phenomenal, and the food was spectacular. We were a difficult group to feed; nearly every guest had a unique dietary restriction and Harvest ensured that each guest would remain safe and happy while dining. We will forever cherish this special celebration and look forward to dining at Harvest in the future!

We are so happy to have had our wedding reception at Joes. Both of us decided to get married at BPL and wanted a reception in walking distance. Joes was the perfect brunch solution! We opted to have brunch and spent a few hours in the wine room to have the best early reception in where we decided was the heart of Boston for us as a couple. After a short period of tasting food, deciding on drink options, and bringing in details for the table scape it was perfect! They even took our wedding cake the day before for us so we can have it ready for the day of! (And we hope they enjoyed the leftovers because we bought a big enough cake for all of the staff to have some too!) Truthfully everyone at joes was incredibly kind and wonderful. We appreciated how they worked with our team to make sure it was a seamless event for us!

We chose the Union in Union package with Juliet and Dearly Studio, and were so happy with our wedding day from start to finish! They were responsive throughout the entire planning process, and helped catch all the small details. On the day itself, the staff set up the annex space beautifully for both our ceremony and dinner reception, and the flow of service was seamless. The food was delicious, and the space was cozy and intimate. It felt effortless, which is a credit to both teams.

The Multicultural Arts Center

Cambridge, MA
  • Up to 150 guests

This Victorian treasure was built in the late 1880s, and originally served as the county courthouse. It’s been lovingly restored, and boasts a two-story theater space with an exquisitely embellished ceiling and wraparound mezzanine balcony. In the warmer months, ceremonies may be held in Centanni Courtyard. This airy outdoor space continues the historic feel of the Arts Center with lawns, a large arbor, and brick pathways. Your rental fee helps support the Center’s mission: to educate the community about diversity through the presentation of multicultural arts programs, and to make the center available to artists and groups who may not otherwise have access to a professionally equipped space.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Natural elegance with open spaces
  • Bridal suite on site
  • Offers full flexibility in setup and decor

Venue considerations

  • On-site parking not available
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No all-inclusive dining options

We held our wedding reception at the Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, and it was a beautiful venue to host our event. The space was a perfect size for our event with 125 guests, and the ceiling is a showstopper. The building is right on the small city park, Centanni Park, which is such a nice little green space in East Cambridge. The staff was friendly and easy to work with and helped us to create our dream reception. One thing to keep in mind when picking this venue is that you have to select from a list of preferred vendors for catering, and they will need to rent all of the plates, cutlery, glassware, catering supplies etc since the venue does not provide these items. Their list of caterers to choose from is a great list, but the extra cost of these rentals should be remembered when budgeting your event.

Our daughter just celebrated her wedding this past weekend at the Kimpton Marlowe, and I can't imagine a more perfect experience! We visited quite a few venues that we loved, but once we found KM and Rachel, we knew we had found our place. I'm not sure where to begin! The planning process was never stressful thanks to Rachel's patience, professionalism and organizational skills. Our daughter lives out of state, and I can only imagine the insane amount of emails that flew back and forth between her and Rachel! She kept us all calm, and we were always confident that the day would be perfect because of her extraordinary efforts. The venue itself has everything a bridal party could want. It's in an accessible location for out of state visitors to explore Boston and Cambridge. The staff are all warm, friendly and eager to help with anything. The price is very reasonable; we had ruled out Boston/Cambridge because of our budget, but KM turned out to be right on target. There is convenient parking on site. We were offered a block of rooms in the hotel for an amazingly good price, so that our guests didn't have to worry about driving after a big party! The food was exceptional, from appetizers to dinner and even late night snacks of pizza, cookies and milk! The reception room was gorgeous and is very easy to work with because of the neutral colors. I think one of our favorite parts was that we had the entire second floor of the hotel to ourselves! The ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and even a room for the bride to retreat when she needed to change was all included. The younger guests danced until the very end, and the "older" parents and guests found a quiet spot to hang out in the lobby area outside of the reception hall, filled with comfortable sofas, chairs and tables. All who attended were happy with the many choices to party, relax and mingle. In my opinion, KM and Rachel are a still a hidden gem in the greater Boston area. I hope this review helps to get the word out that they are the place to go if you are looking for an affordable option with fabulous spaces, delicious food and most of all, an event planner who puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Thank you, KM and Rachel! 3

A Dream Wedding at Margeaux Supper Parlor We hosted our engagement party turned wedding at Margeaux Supper Parlor, and it was pure magic. From the moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the beauty of the space - especially the bar, which created the most stunning backdrop for photos we’ll cherish forever. Rebekah, the owner, and her incredible team thought of everything. From a custom, dairy-free menu (which was so important to me) to specialty passed cocktails and thoughtful service throughout, not a single detail was missed. The private oasis room was the perfect retreat for a quiet moment together during the celebration and added such a personal touch to the evening. And yes, we even sabered champagne! Whether it’s a bridal shower, engagement party, or wedding, we can’t recommend Margeaux enough. It’s a truly special place run by truly special people.

I was originally anti-hotel wedding. "How boring, how cookie cutter," I thought. Then I toured OPH on a whim once I realized I was priced out of my dream Boston venues - I was pleasantly surprised. Though renovations had not taken place yet, I could see what a historic, old-school Boston charm the place had. The pricing was also extremely reasonable by Boston standards (though I don't know how much they've changed since I booked in summer 2024) and included so much - dinner, open bar, cake, etc. I would be remiss if I didn't compliment Julie (who had since moved on) who really sealed the deal - her warm and friendly demeanor made it easy to imagine working with her. All of the other banquet and events staff I worked with (Latchman, Marshall, etc.) were equally lovely. OPH events staff really go above and beyond, they manage your event from start to finish, set up decor, and are super friendly and communicative. From what I understand, most venue coordinators are simply there to unlock the doors and make sure the food goes out, but the folks at OPH make it possible to have no or limited day-of coordination services from an outside vendor. The renovations have made this hotel and its event spaces even more beautiful, without over-modernizing. It still feels old-school, but just brighter and well-taken care of. The food was incredible (guests were raving), and while that wasn't a priority for me, it was a wonderful bonus. The city views from the ballroom are incredible. Only minor inconveniences to keep in mind: the hotel is OLD - so the freight elevator is small (some vendors had difficulty loading in/out), the wiring is finicky (the electricity in our suite went out a few times while getting ready, though it was restored quickly), and the fire codes are fairly strict (no taper candles, even with hurricane glasses). For me, these were hardly even issues, but it may be good to know. I can't say enough good things about OPH, I think it's a really underrated and lesser-known venue that people who want a downtown Boston wedding should consider!

From food options to set up and decorations, the Mothership team went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Their willingness to accommodate the many guests with varying dietary restrictions was astounding, and EVERYTHING was delicious. They even made our wedding cake plus an array of gluten free and vegan desserts. The space was perfect and was able to comfortably fit our guests for dinner to dancing. They converted their day-time cafe space into the most amazing dance floor for us and our DJ. All in all, this team truly made our special day PERFECT, and I will forever be recommending them to all of our friends and family!!

Before you read this lengthy review, the short answer is: YES, get married at the New England Aquarium! We started our search looking for venues and wanted something fun and unique. The Aquarium made it onto our list, and the prices were comparable to other venues—it wasn’t significantly more expensive than renting out a restaurant with food and drinks. We read every review possible before we had our first meeting and toured the venue. Our biggest concern was catering because there were some older reviews on The Knot about this being an issue. At our first meeting, not only was there a representative from the New England Aquarium, but also a representative from the catering company. This was definitely a green flag for us, and it sounds like the Aquarium took the older reviews seriously and transitioned to a new catering team. Throughout the planning process, the team was wonderful. They kept in touch via email, gave us clear deadlines, and answered all of our questions. We did have to get pre-approval for all of our centerpieces and anything else we were bringing into the Aquarium because of animal safety. This was not an issue for us and was a very straightforward process. A few months before the wedding, we also had our food and wine tasting. This was definitely one of the fun parts of the planning process because all we had to do was show up! We knew we wanted buffet stations instead of a plated dinner, so we told them which entrees we wanted to try. The Italian dishes were really great, along with all of the salads. We also had some suggestions for a customized Indian station, and the team took very detailed notes, which was a great sign that they were listening to what we wanted. Amanda Solomon was the person we worked with very closely as we got closer to our wedding date. The week before, she sent us encouraging messages and made sure everything was on track. On the day of the wedding, she and her team made sure the setup was done correctly and that everything was ready for us. We didn’t have a wedding ceremony at the Aquarium—just the reception. Cocktail hour was inside the Aquarium, while dinner and dancing were outside in the tent. Everyone absolutely raved about the venue! One thing we loved was that guests had options throughout the night. They could hang out in the tent and dance, go inside the Aquarium to see the animals, or walk along the harbor. It made the whole experience feel really unique and gave people plenty to do. People also said they really enjoyed the food, which was the only hesitation we had when touring potential venues. We were so happy that we decided to go with the Aquarium and would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for something unique, fun, and memorable!

We had our wedding at the Marriott Long Wharf October 7 2023 and everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Meg Garruto is a true gem and was a dream to work with! We were actually booked at another venue and after some issues we decided we needed to find another venue and actually booked Long Wharf site unseen. Our original venue not working our was the biggest blessing in disguise. The attention to details and the accessibility to answer any questions we had was above and beyond. There was absolutely no stress in wedding planning thanks to Meg and her team. We also were so impressed with the food! From the cocktail hour to late night snacks everything was perfect. Our guests have been raving about the service and the food for the past week! The location of the hotel and the views are worth booking for alone. If you are looking to book a Boston area hotel for your wedding I would seriously consider booking long wharf before it’s too late! We are already looking into visiting for our one year anniversary (and we are not locals!) because we love the hotel so much!

I cannot say enough good things about my event at Joe's Waterfront! I had my reception dinner in the Dockside Room and everything went so smoothly. I was a bit hesitant at first to book Joe's because I was worried the venue didn't match my style. The photos they have do not do this place justice! I'm so glad I gave it a chance and visited in person because the room is so cute and classy, especially with the plain white linens and brown chairs. At night, the candles really bring the place together for an intimate dinner. We brought a few bud vases and flowers for extra decor, but it looked good as is! Rachel was a great help leading up to the night. I had so many little questions and requests and she was able to help me navigate everything so smoothly. Day of, the staff was so attentive and kind. Everyone was such a pleasure to interact with! The food was amazing! Shrimp Scampi was the crowd favorite with the Pan-Seared Salmon as a close second, but you can't go wrong with any of the dishes. Bread and butter was also included and it was a pleasant surprise! Guests also loved the cocktails! We couldn't have asked for a better night :)

About wedding venues in Brookline, MA

Massachusetts offers an unparalleled backdrop for your wedding day with historic mansions in Boston's Beacon Hill, lighthouse-dotted shores of Cape Cod and rustic barns nestled in Western Massachusetts' Berkshire mountains. The state's rich colonial heritage gives you venues in buildings dating back to the 1700s while modern spaces showcase innovative architecture and contemporary design that can make your celebration truly unique.

What Makes Massachusetts Wedding Venues So Special?

The Bay State combines distinct regional characteristics to create unique ceremony experiences for your special day. In Boston and Greater Boston you'll find historic landmarks like Boston Public Library where you can exchange vows in elegant reading rooms then celebrate with receptions offering harbor views at the Boston Harbor Hotel. Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket feature oceanfront estates like Wychmere Beach Club with direct beach access and sunset ceremony opportunities that create magical memories. Western Massachusetts offers converted tobacco barns featuring original beam architecture and mountain backdrop photography locations perfect for couples seeking rustic charm.
