My name is Bailey O'Neal -- I am the owner + videographer of Avant-Garde Videography located in the Chicagoland area, and I love making videos! I love going places with my camera and enjoy capturing the content around me. I love starting a new project, and having an open opportunity to be creative and original. Any talented wedding videographer can create a 5-minute cinematic wedding film of your wedding but there's so much more to a wedding day than that. I love coffee. I never leave home without it. I’m easy going. I love to chill. I’m a huge sports fan and I love watching Skip Bayless and others argue on Fox. Basketball was my first love and even in my thirties I still daydream about playing in the NBA. As a teenager, while most of my peers were listening to 2Pac and Biggie, I preferred Marvin Gaye, Al Green and The Temptations. I’ve been told that I have an old soul. At the end of the day I love life, I love my job and my customers always come first.

John Severson graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2004 with degrees in Anthropology and Film. His passion for film has taken him all over the world, from Vietnam to Zanzibar. John is a Chicagoland native. After graduating and traveling, he returned back to Chicago’s Lakeview and South Loop neighborhoods. In 2009, he married his wife Sarah, and moved back to their native Oak Park to raise their two children, Stella and George. John is always available to chat with you about your ideas and answer any questions. He’s excited getting to know you as a couple and share your vision for your wedding day.

I became indulged in the story-telling of my wedding couples. Being surrounded by the excitement, sometimes nervous couples, and their loving families and friends made the filming such a rush. Then to have the honor to edit a film where their personalities and love shine through is the greatest privilege. I want to take them on a journey back in time to the most epic day where they laugh and cry with all their family and friends. I make films that last the ages. I love to think about how my couples might show their kids or even grandkids someday.

Monday through Friday we shoot food, ads, TV, live events, products videos, documentaries, narrative films, corporate stuff and more. But when the weekend rolls around, we shoot weddings. Our appreciation for directing and videography is rivaled by none.
