Oakwood Creek was built in the 1930s by WW Wood and his wife Leanora. Wood drove a truck that hauled dairy milk from the outlying ranches into the town of Julian. Later on, Wood would operate B&L Liquor on the main street. The remains of W's garage are still very apparent on the property today, along with his goat shed & stables. We have one of the last intact water towers in the historic district. The property has been preserved to reflect the period in which it was built. This beautiful venue sits atop a picturesque knoll overlooking the historic town of Julian. From the backdrop of our heritage apple orchard to our tree-shaded reception area, it will be a day you will be proud to call your own. Here at the HomeStead we pride ourselves on not being copy and paste, each wedding here is built around the couples individualized style and vision. Due to our elevation (4,750ft), we have Season's! Our Spring is lush and green (last weekend of April thru mid-July). Summer is generally temperate (late July to August), and in Fall, the colors are eye-catching (September thru mid-November). Weddings are not scheduled from the last week in November through mid-April, but we are open for tours and visits throughout the year. We have two venues: *The Island -- Lake Cuyamaca has a scenic, natural site suitable for small outdoor weddings. Venue is rented for 6 daylight hours. Tables & chairs are not included.  *Ole Firehouse -- The Firehouse is a newly renovated former fire station with a 40' x 60' event room, the perfect space for both weddings and receptions. Amenities include: the venue room, a full kitchen, two restrooms, an outdoor patio area, a large, shaded deck, and an upstairs bridal dressing room/loft space. It has a 80-person indoor capacity with the Firehouse bay doors closed & a 100-person capacity when they are open. We'd love to give you a tour of our unique locations & are committed to doing all we can to help you make this a memorable day!

Our event area is “El Fresco" with a spacious covered patio and additional open space under a beautiful sky, which easily accommodates any social distancing requirements. There is plenty of area for a ceremony and reception to host 50-125 guests. In addition, we host one wedding per weekend to guarantee a more relaxing and unhurried special day. For costs we start with a base price and have several options you can "Add on". Once we know what you would like included we then create a customized wedding package just for you!
