“Wedding was 1/9/2020 . Our officiant didn't add our ring exchange to our ceremony. (We had a buddist ceremony); The chaos of a strict photography schedule kept my husband and I busy. But I was so upset that moment was not going to be in photos. Dom somehow knew I needed that moment to complete. He snuck it in before our cake cutting and I was overjoyed to have him officiate that for us. He was spot on with the playlist and songs matching to our chosen genre. He did more than we asked for even when our venue coordinator dropped the ball on us with not posting seating charts. “He served as out DJ and MC but brought along Joey C to co-MC. With Lon on the mic and a second host working the crowd, the whole night had that high-energy club feel. The lighting, projectors and fog machines were fantastic, and he even created a "dancing on the clouds" effect for us. Our first dance as newlyweds felt truly magical. This is a DJ who genuinely wants you and your guests to have an incredible time, and he'll go the extra mile to make that happen. Lon exceeded every expectation, and it's obvious he loves what he does. Here's a comparison that really illustrates the difference between a great DJ and a bad one. The bad DJ (from a company with 500 reviews across Yelp, Thumbtack and other platforms): Two months before our wedding, we went to a friend's wedding handled by a different DJ, and it was a letdown. Despite receiving a list of requested songs - he ignored most of it. Rather than engaging with the guests, he mostly just hit play and disappeared to flirt with one of the servers. He'd also told the couple he wouldn't guest requests, yet caved every time someone approached him. By the end of the night, several songs had repeated two or three times. It makes you wonder if some of these companies pay to be featured on booking platforms and use that leverage to get negative reviews taken down. We later learned that the company had hired this DJ through Offerup for just 300 - clearly inexperienced. Do your research before booking a DJ. Some of these companies care more about profit than about whether their clients actually have a good time. The Great DJ - DJ Lon Lee: My husband and I have wide-ranging musical taste - EDM, R&B, Hip-Hop, Indie Rock, Cumbias, Reggaeton and more. As a bride who wanted every single song we asked for, respected our "must play" and "do not play" lists completely, and transitioned between them so smoothly it was unlike anything I'd heard at a wedding before. Whether it was the ceremony, recessional, entrances, cake cutting, dances, or the final song of the night, every cue landed exactly when it should have. I've already sent five friends who are planning their own weddings his way, and I'd hire him again without hesitation. One last story that sums up the night perfectly: several guests came to say their goodbyes at different points, only for us to spot them still dancing 30, 45, even an hour later. When I asked why they hadn't left yet, they told me "We couldn't, the songs were too good." Thank you, Lon, for helping make our day perfect.”

“Jonathon was awesome from day one. A very laid-back and chill energy made planning with him feel non-anxious. He made us feel like he had everything under control and that he knew when to accommodate us and when he could use his knowledge to make sure everyone had a great time. In the pre-ceremony, he mixed it up between some pre-selected songs I chose and played some live. I am a musician, so many of our family and friends that were in attendance are all musicians and singers. They all immediately were drawn to his smooth voice and incredible playing. The ceremony went great and had minimal to no tech issues, the sound was clear, he helped us incorporate our musician friends to play a song during the ceremony. He played our First Dance song live, and absolutely knocked it out of the park! We did a small choreographed dance to Love Like This by Ben Rector. His voice was perfect, and I was able to send him an edited version of the song that matched with our dance. He played it flawlessly and the moment was special for my wife and I, and for our guests. During the dinner, he played an acoustic set consisting of covers of 90s-2000s R&B songs, which were a huge hit with us and our guests. He played with a loop pedal and was able to simulate a full band with just his guitar and voice! He had some moving and grooving, singing along during dinner, while others were still able to hold a conversation without distraction. I gave him many songs to include in the dance portion of the night. And while he included MANY of my suggestions, he also knew when to throw in some crowd favorites to keep the party going. The dance floor was PACKED all night, the transitions between each song where seamless, and it became a fun game for my and my friends to try and guess what song he was cueing up next! My wife and I loved every musical moment of the evening, and it was exactly what we dreamed of for that day. All of our guests loved the music, and were so impressed not just with his professionalism and on stage banter with the crowd, but his musicality and rich voice. I have worked as a wedding musician for a few years, and as a gigging musician and singer for much longer. I have always feared that I would spend my wedding day judging the Wedding Band/DJ because of my high standards for live music. Jonathan blew every single one of those expectations out of the water, and he was such a breath of fresh air during a stressful period of wedding planning. I cannot recommend Jonathan Blake Salazar any more for your wedding. He is a dream to work with, and will do an incredible job performing, Emceeing, and DJing your special day!”

“We hired Dj MikeB for our wedding in North County San Diego. We were so grateful that he and his assistant, Joanne traveled to our wedding and helped us with having the best day ever! He was responsive from the start when I first inquired about his services. What stuck out to us was his level of professionalism including his website and having his packages clearly listed out, unlike other DJs we were looking into. “My husband and I used Direct Entertainment for our DJ and videographer for our wedding and we could not be more pleased!! The team was professional, great at communication, very kind and professional, and they helped make our day absolutely perfect! Jeff, our DJ kept the dance floor alive ALL NIGHT!! When the music had to stop at the end of the night, the dance floor was still completely full and no one wanted it to end. He did a great job announcing the events of the night, made sure that our ceremony music was perfect, and he stuck to our wedding playlist with the exception for a couple guest requests (which we were happy to allow). We were so happy and thankful to have Jeff there! Sie, our videographer also did a wonderful job! We have not yet received our video as our wedding was less than 2 weeks ago, but I already know it is going to be amazing. He was so great with communication, was prompt with his timing, and he even set up a second camera for guests to break away and give us well wishes for our marriage, which I'm so excited to watch back. He was very professional and wonderful to work with. We decided to add videography at the last minute because we thought we might regret not having it, and I am SO happy we asked Jim at Direct Entertainment if they had someone available for our day just a month before, and they did!! Jim, the coordinator at Direct Entertainment frequently checked in with us, asked us questions about ourselves, and genuinely made us feel like he cared about us and our special day. He was great to work with leading up to being assigned our designated DJ and videographer, and even after, he checked in to make sure we were happy and that all of the planning was going well. Overall, we would 1000% recommend Direct Entertainment for any wedding entertainment needs! “Our experience working with Jamie and Ceremony DJs can be best summed up by the fact that multiple people told us after the ceremony they wanted to book him for their wedding and at least one got his business card! I can't imagine a better DJ, truly. When we first met with Jamie, he said he could make people dance to anything and would keep people on the dance floor all night, and he WAS NOT LYING. The whole night, the dance floor was PACKED even though it was rainy/muddy/cold/wet. Jamie took us on a journey that covered all of the bases of the music we love to hear and dance to, seamlessly and magically (?) integrating genres with the best mixes, it was pure wizardry and really captured who we were. We as a couple care a lot about music and wanted music that represented who we were and what we like to listen to, and he did not disappoint! So much prep work went into this, he took patience and time to try to understand our tastes and vibe, and it was so cool to have the wedding played on vinyl- basically, Jamie just "got it" from start to finish and we had the best time! Our wedding also got delayed due to rain and a road closure and he was such a good sport, staying late to keep us all dancing for a whole other hour- so fun! Also, when our ceremony musician was stuck in traffic due to the storm, he was so prepared and had our prelude/processional music downloaded so we could still walk down the aisle to the songs we'd chosen. Overall, such a cool, kind, funny guy who was professional and prepared in every way and honest just takes time to meet and know his clients, and clearly just loves to share his love of music. I would book him for everything if I could. BOOK THIS DJ. You will NOT regret it!”
