Noble House Inn Venue was an absolute dream venue for our wedding. The inn itself is beautifully decorated and all the rooms are cute, quaint, and exceptionally clean. Across the road is Highland Lake which makes for fantastic pictures that really capture the essence and beauty of Maine. It truly feels like you're in a New England Hallmark romantic comedy! The outdoor grounds and ceremony space are also incredibly beautiful, lined with flowers and birch bark trees. The real stars of the show are Lynn, Cassie, and Matt. They truly care about you and your special day. They will do everything and everything to make you feel at home and at ease! Their communication throughout the planning process was quick and effective and they went above and beyond to provide us with things that other venues would charge for, such as tables, chairs, linens, etc. Their list of recommended vendors also shined brightly and helped to make our special day even more special. On the day of our wedding, a massive storm hit the area. Right when we were supposed to be walking down the aisle, the power went out and the intense rain literally knocked the power lines onto the road! Lynn, Matt, and Cassie kept calm and kept us all calm as well. They quickly got the generator running and the power back on with the help of the fire marshal that lives next door! They truly saved our day and it's a moment we will remember and appreciate forever. We're so grateful for their professionalism and dedication to making our wedding day perfect. We couldn't recommend the Noble House Inn Venue more highly and we're so happy with how everything turned out!

  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Natural elegance with open spaces

Venue considerations

  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Not for you if you're looking for a sleek and contemporary space
Let me start by saying that having our wedding reception at the 1812 Farm was something I had dreamed of for 18 years, since I was only 10. My family and I would visit the Pemaquid Lighthouse every year growing up, and every year I would point out the car window and say “That’s where I want to have a wedding reception after getting married at the lighthouse!” Little did I know, I would eventually have that exact dream come true. My now husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at the 1812 Farm in September. From day one, the communication between us and the owners and event coordinator Olivia was punctual and incredibly helpful. From the thorough initial tour, to the food tasting where we were made to feel like royalty, to Olivia’s continual help with planning and the ultimate picture perfect wedding day, we were beyond pleased. Wedding planning would have been far more stressful without the calls with Olivia, a detailed shared Google document, and the fun 3D modeling software for the venue table setup. The catering was excellent- the food was delicious with perfectly tender meat and paired seasonings/sauces. The servers and bartenders were professional and friendly. The first thing that struck me on the wedding day was how gorgeous the grounds were, with a multitude of flowers and perfectly manicured lawns even towards the end of the summer! I also cannot say enough good things about their bridal suite. Getting ready in such a comfortable place with my loved ones was unexpectedly one of my favorite times of that day. The Farm also coordinated with our bluegrass band and other vendors efficiently to ensure the day went flawlessly. Thank you, the 1812 Farm, for helping us host a beautiful, classy, country wedding that couldn’t have been more perfect.

I cannot say enough about this incredible venue. From the beautiful property, to the attentive and friendly staff, Newagen made our entire wedding weekend smooth and seamless. Newagen offers all the charm of a small quaint Maine Inn with the delivery and professionalism of a large well run venue. Maura was amazing and responsive with the booking of the venue and sales process. She was so responsive in answering all my questions and helping us navigate putting the weekend structure together. The reins were smoothly handed over to Tiffany as the weekend got closer and she ensured everything ran smoothly through the weekend. We held a lobster bake Friday evening, ceremony and reception Saturday and a farewell breakfast Sunday morning. Every single aspect was flawless. Tiffany and her team kept things running on time, making sure everything I brought (decorations and the like) was put out so that my husband and I could just spend time with friends and family. It felt that every time I had a concern or a question, I could ask Tiffany and she'd have already thought of it/handled it. I truly cannot say enough about how amazing the staff was. From the front desk staff, managers, coordinators to the waiters, everyone made us and our guests feel at home, taken care of and special. My husband and I will definitely be returning to celebrate anniversaries and will recommend this venue to anyone. The property has so much to offer guests (pool, pickle ball, sunset path) and is not far from the cute downtown harbor and local sites like the coastal Maine botanical gardens. The chef was fantastic and the food was delicious. Highly recommend going to their pub for a bite if you are in the area and are considering this venue.

  • Bridal suite on site
  • Rustic-chic setting
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Couple must handle cleanup and setup

My mom booked Cranberry Mountain Events for my baby shower. We used the indoor building and it was beautiful. It was a safe place for the kids to run around. We had access to the catering kitchen because my mom did all her own food prep and was able to use the refrigerators and counters. Was clean and easy! I had about 30 people and we had a large center table and everyone could sit together. The space is big but it was cozy and it didn't feel awkward for our smaller event!

Unexpected Farm was the perfect backdrop for our fall wedding. The foliage on the property was absolutely beautiful and the views of the lake were breathtaking at sunset. I am a horse owner so having horses involved in some way was very important to me. Having them in the background while getting married was the perfect touch to make my wedding so memorable. Getting married can be difficult at times the fact that the property owners were easy to work with throughout the whole process, made everything so much simpler.

Not only is the setting beautiful, but the team at the Inn went above and beyond to help us have our dream wedding, despite having to scale down due to COVID. We are convinced that Caitlyn is the sweetest, most accommodating person in the entire Maine wedding industry. She did everything from answering our millions of questions to even setting up the arbor and ceremony space. She was extremely flexible with all of the changes that we threw her way! Our guests thoroughly enjoyed "getting away" to a quaint little island for the weekend as well as experiencing the incredible food the Inn has to offer. Everything we had was delicious and our bartender, Ryan, made sure the late night party did not disappoint. My wife and I were married at Walnut Hill in July of last year and we had the best day of our lives there! Mike and Essie were an absolute pleasure to work with - they were so friendly and accommodating throughout the process. The entire property is so beautiful, from the Barn itself (and its attached, charming country house which can sleep up to 12 if memory correctly serves), the newly redone patio beside the barn, the sprawling lawn and last but certainly not least, the ceremony area (the main reason fell in love with this location!). The ceremony area lets the perfect amount of light in, which in our case was especially great since it kept our guests (and ourselves) cooler on what was a 90 degree day! It is also equipped with speakers surrounding it which is really helpful for whatever sort of musical arrangements you have for the most important part of the day. Cocktail hour was out on the patio. The massive tree nearby provided shade to those who needed to step out of the sun for a few. We had our reception in the barn. It is HVAC-equipped which was key on such a hot day. We had a little under 70 guests so we had plenty of room for a full band and dance floor in the middle, but I think you could fit double that size without much trouble at all. The barn also has a bar built in which was such a great touch. I would recommend The Barn On Walnut Hill to anyone looking for an intimate, all-inclusive venue. It really is one of the best spots in the Portland, ME area, if not all of Maine in my book. Thanks again Mike and Essie! -Pat

I attended one of the events that they hosted (not a wedding, but they have a bunch of different types of events come through regularly), and I LOVED the spot! My fiancé & I are debating having our 2025 wedding reception here next year. We heard nothing but great things about the owners, and the staff working the event seemed to be having a blast. We loved that it's so different from your typical stuffy, overly-elegant wedding venue. This is a photo studio that is run by 2 photographers, and the vibe feels more NYC than Maine. Concrete floors with high ceilings, white walls, in the brewery district of Portland.

Everything about Ri Ra was amazing! I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a restaurant setting reception or event. We had a small ceremony at Portland City Hall with our immediate family and then had our reception upstairs at Ri Ra with about 100 guests. We rented out the entire upstairs space. The location is beautiful, with a great view of the water and boats. Most of our guests stayed at the Hilton across the street, so they were able to walk to the reception and everyone commented on how great of a location in Portland it was. The upstairs is already beautifully decorated so we just had tealight votives and bud vases with flowers for decor on the tables. We were also able to have a mix of large and small tables for dinner, which ended up working out great for us as opposed to each table having the same number of guests. The events manager, Tara, was great to work with from the moment we inquired and booked the space. She was always very helpful, communicative and friendly. The rest of the staff were also so friendly and did an amazing job at the event. They were constantly checking in with guests at dinner and the bar ran smoothly the entire night. As far as food goes, everything was delicious! So many of our guests told us they had great meals and were very impressed with the food. We had passed appetizers for cocktail hour and salad/dinner was served family style, the serving were generous and we had plenty of food. Most of our guests that needed food accommodations were vegan and gluten free, and many of our food choices already met that criteria, but Ri Ra was also very accommodating to other allergies, even with serving dinner family style. We did hire a wedding coordinator for the day of to help set up/break down decor for us, make sure our timeline ran smoothly and to coordinate with our DJ and photographer day of, which I would recommend for a larger event.

Haly at The Press Hotel was so helpful in helping us to plan our wedding reception celebration. The space was outfitted for our needs, and she ensured all our food and drink requests were accommodated for, incuding bringing in late night pizza from an outside vendor. They managed the set up and clean up of the space. Her team was fun and kind who worked the event too and everything went smoothly. The space was so unique splitting up into multiple spaces, many of our guests commented on how much they loved it. Can't recommend it enough for your next celebration!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at the Westin Portland Harborview Hotel. From start to finish, the entire team made our wedding weekend absolutely seamless, beautiful, and stress-free. A huge and heartfelt thank you to Lindsay Plantier, the Hotel’s Catering Sales Manager and our wedding coordinator. Lindsay was extraordinary—accommodating every last-minute change, working with our budget, and helping us customize the perfect dream wedding. On the wedding day itself, we were completely hands-off and everything ran with incredible professionalism. We received so many compliments from guests who noticed how organized, smooth, and well-run the entire event was. The staff throughout the hotel deserves major recognition. From check-in to check-out, we felt truly cared for. The front desk team was warm and attentive, and even the waitress assigned to us at our reception went above and beyond—checking in throughout the evening to make sure I ate, stayed hydrated, and could be fully present with our guests. Every single employee we encountered was kind, professional, and clearly part of a well-oiled, highly coordinated team. The ballroom itself was stunning. We didn’t have to purchase any extra décor besides a few bud vases we chose to add. The hotel provided linens, table numbers, candles, charger plates and more at no additional cost. The room looked polished, elegant, and absolutely beautiful! We also loved that our package included a farewell brunch at the Top of the East, which was gorgeous during the day and at night. We invited guests to "meet us at the Top of the East" after our reception to serve as an after party for those not ready to tuck in for the night. Guests raved about both the daytime ocean views and the nighttime skyline. The convenience of having everything under one roof was priceless. Our guests appreciated being able to park once and enjoy the entire weekend in one place. We were married at the church directly across the street, making it incredibly easy for everyone to move between events safely and comfortably. Choosing the Westin Portland Harborview was one of the best decisions we made. The venue, the service, the staff, and especially Lindsay created a wedding weekend that exceeded every expectation. We are so grateful and would recommend this venue wholeheartedly to any couple looking for a beautiful, expertly managed, guest-friendly wedding experience.

It’s taken me a while to sit down and write the review that Megan and Steve deserve, sorry for the delay! My husband and I got married at the Whitney Farm Estate in May of 2025. When we had originally booked this venue, it was with different owners so when we heard in December of 2024 that our wedding venue had sold, needless to say we were terrified. There were so many questions running through our minds, but in the end, I think it’s an understatement to say that we lucked out. Megan and Steve were absolutely wonderful. They were helpful, they were kind, and they made everything so easy. They only improved on what we already knew to be an incredibly beautiful property. The number of renovations and projects they completed in the 5 short months between them taking over the venue and our wedding date, it blew us away. The house was big enough to accommodate the majority of our wedding party and immediate family. We had four days on the property, and we enjoyed and used every last second of it. It was so nice to sit in the hot tub at the end of our days of decorating (and on the wedding night itself!). The huge kitchen made it easy to prepare meals for the about 20 people we had staying over the course of the weekend. The speakeasy was a fun and awesome addition to the house that we did not expect but was by far one of the most popular spots for us to end up in throughout our time there. On the wedding day itself, it rained (unfortunately, as I had been very excited to get married under the huge, beautiful birch trees in the backyard, but oh well). Steve showed up to make sure the heat in the barn was working as needed and brought floor mats and umbrellas for the guests. At the end of the night Megan and Steve both checked in with us to make sure everything went as planned. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with them. If I could give 100 stars I would. 10/10 will recommend this place to anyone that wants to listen. We hope to go back in the future, maybe for an anniversary or vow renewal. Our entire family loved this property, and we get asked repeatedly, “when are you getting married again so we can go back there?”. Thank you Megan and Steve, for everything.

Maine's only greenhouse event venue exclusively designed for wedding receptions and ceremonies. 2021 marks 72 years of Highland Farm’s history in Scarborough, Maine. The saying is true here: “you come as strangers and leave as family.” The Greenhouse and The Farm has been run by 3rd generation owners, Joe and Christine since 2008, but Joe and Christine’s involvement in the farm runs far deeper than ownership. We worked with Board Landing for a wedding celebration in August of 2022. The venue is beautiful and pastoral, and lent itself well to having both the ceremony down by the water and reception up the hill overlooking the Bay.
