Stephen is a San Diego-based filmmaker who has been creating wedding films for 14 years. He loves to make documentary-style videos that capture beautiful moments for people. Stephen has a keen eye for details and inspired moments. He loves to film discreetly, so the couples and family barely notice him in the background. With a light footprint, he moves throughout the wedding day with positive, calm vibes. His love of camerawork and storytelling drives all his filmmaking. With his commercial filmmaking company, Blue Barn Creative, he has earned 5 Emmy Awards for his editing and commercial cinematography.

I’ve been in the industry for a while and have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of couples. I believe every couple is unique, so I take a “fly on the wall” approach when filming weddings. This allows me to stay in the background, capturing the most important moments naturally and from the best angles. The best wedding films are timeless and should be enjoyed forever. No matter the location or budget, my goal is to create a beautiful film that reflects the love and personalities of the couple.

    So happy!

    Stephen shot our wedding film in July and we couldn't be happier! He was awesome on our big day, he caught all of the big small moments, all while not being super noticeable to our guests! We couldn't be happier with the way our video turned out. We are so excited to cherish this film for the rest of our lives (and have already watched it 10 times since we got it back two days ago). He delivered our video in a timely manner, and is going to send us all the raw footage to have as well. Highly recommend Stephen for wedding videography!

    Phenomenal Videographer for our Wedding!

    Stephen did an AMAZING job as the videographer for our wedding back in May 2019. He captured the love, magic, and excitement of the event so well that we watch our wedding video quite frequently. I literally have it saved on my phone for easy access! Stephen and his team know exactly when and where to be during the day, they're versatile in navigating what we wanted captured, but were also capturing everything we forgot to think If you want a videographer who knows quality filming techniques, uses state-of-the-art camera gear, and edits with beautiful diligence, then Stephen Alberts is your guy!
