The Village is located in the heart of Big Sur along scenic highway 1. Perched along the Big Sur river, 1.25 acres of redwood and sycamore dappled grounds accommodate up to 150 guests. The Village encompasses a full-service restaurant, an organic market and bodega, and a collection of sprawling indoor and outdoor event spaces equipped for celebrations of all kinds. At The Village, guests enjoy locally sourced cuisine, sommelier curated wine lists, and craft cocktails sure to excite the spirit. Event spaces include: multiple lush lawn areas, outdoor bar and lounge areas, a fully-equipped restaurant with private dining and main dining rooms, an interior cocktail lounge and bar, an 1800-square foot barn with roll up doors for an open air experience, and an array of unique add-on offerings for your next event in Big Sur.

    A True Gem

    The Village, Big Sur was an absolute dream to work with, creating our "Night Before" celebration. I could not be happier with our evening and dinner! The staff was amazing both planning and executing our event which was held on the lawn and in "the barn", a truly gorgeous, serene setting. Attention to detail was evident, personal and thoughtful. The evening began with a "welcome" signature cocktail, champagne, and a beautiful canape' station. Dinner followed with a land and sea inspired menu. Absolute perfection! Thank you Catherine, Chef Tim, and Matt for making our special night unforgettable.

    The perfect venue in the heart of Big Sur

    As a local photographer, I have watched the space become transformed into an elevated venue, and gathering space, all while keeping the rustic charm of the building. The grounds are beautiful, the open air feel is great, and the aesthetic details are gorgeous. The team behind it is superb, and I would definitely recommend this location of an event! A great location in the heart of Big Sur.

Yes, you may bring your own wine. We charge a corkage fee of $25 per 750mL bottle of wine. However, you may not bring your own liquor or beer. If you would like to request a specific beer or liquor to have available for your guests, reach out to the event director to coordinate your custom beverage selections with our beverage director and bartenders. We happily accommodate special requests for couples' ideal bar menus.
Yes, depending on the nature and set-up of your event, we offer our private parking lot. For groups of 12 guests or more, we highly recommend shuttle service for an stress-free arrivals and departures. Please contact our event director for local shuttle service referrals.
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible and our trained staff will assist in accommodating and guiding guests to ADA entrances to ensure all guests are included in every aspect of your event. Please notify our event director regarding any ADA requirements in your guest list, and our team will include all information and appropriate considerations throughout the set-up and flow of your event.
The site fee packages include solid wood tables, teak wood folding chairs, stoneware plates, gold brushed flatware, glassware, stemware, dinner napkins, and additional decor upon request.
Your reservation includes 5-hours from start to finish. Set up and break down of your event is included with the site fee payment, but does not cut into the 5-hour event window of your booking. Events that exceed the contracted end-time are subject to overtime charges. Reservation time extensions can be arranged prior to your event, consult our event director for a quote on your desired event extension time.
Booking fees for our facilities, and all payments made including deposits, are non-refundable. If you cancel your event within 40 days of your booked date, you will be billed for the full amount of all estimated charges. Under the circumstances of a natural disaster or government order prohibiting the event from taking place, our event director will work with you to reschedule and transfer your site fee credit to an alternate date.
The Village, Big Sur is about a 30-minute drive from the Monterey Regional Airport.
No, our venue is fully insured. If you hire third party vendors for services that require labor on site at The Village, your vendors will need to provide proof of insurance or may be required to add coverage to their insurance for the event.
