    A beautiful venue with deeply unprofessional management, broken promises, and a complete lack of integrity. We were sold a polished, all-inclusive wedding experience, but what we received was a stressful, disorganized mess that ultimately led us to cancel our wedding just two months before the big day. From misleading package details and poor communication to outright disrespect from the staff, our experience with The Monte was deeply disappointing. One of the most upsetting aspects of our time with The Monte was how we were treated. My mother, sister, planner, and I were all left feeling disrespected and insulted after multiple interactions with their General Manager and Event Planner. Instead of being met with care or professionalism, we were dismissed, talked down to, and often met with defensiveness and condescension. We came into every meeting patient, kind, and collaborative, but that grace was not returned. It became clear we were not being treated as valued clients, but as burdens. During our tour, we were told our package included a preferred vendor list, experienced planning support, matching linens, balcony access for photos, flower vases, and full access to their Planning Notebook/Catalog. But shortly after we paid over 10,000, we learned the Notebook was merely a “guideline,” and most of what we were shown was either unavailable or would cost extra. Nearly everything we were promised was either walked back, redefined, or simply no longer an option. The lack of communication and support only made matters worse. We were led to believe we’d have professional planning guidance throughout, but instead we received conflicting answers, unreturned emails, and constant confusion. Even straightforward issues—like clarity around policies or mismatched linens—went unresolved. We eventually hired an outside planner at our own cost just to help us navigate the mess. With only eight weeks left before our wedding, we made the heartbreaking decision to cancel and start over with a new venue. Incredibly, even with such a tight timeline, re-planning everything from scratch was less stressful than continuing with The Monte. And despite everything, The Monte has refused to refund even a single dollar of the 10,000 we paid—despite not delivering what was promised. They pick and choose which policies they enforce based on what benefits them most. When asked to take accountability, they hide behind fine print, deny, or deflect. It’s slimy and unfair. This venue may look beautiful on the outside, but beauty means nothing without integrity, professionalism, or basic respect. If you’re planning a wedding and want peace of mind, do yourself a favor and stay far away from The Monte.
