Well, hello there! I'm Katie. Okay, so where do I even begin to describe myself? Well, I'm a photographer (you've probably guessed that already), mountain mama, hiker, camper, "vanlifer" (or whatever), raging feminist, art school grad, dog petter, traveler, and all around life-enriching-experience-haver. I was born in Colorado and spend a good chunk of the year there, but I'm all over the Western US because I'm nomadic- ask me about anywhere, there's a good chance

I'll gladly show you all of my favorite most secret spots to say "I do", and take beautiful, emotive photos of the two of y'all, but any ole' photographer can do that. What I really want, is to capture what makes you, you. If that means guiding your adventure, hiking to the top of a mountain, finding a hidden waterfall, or even just hanging our in your parents' backyard with your pup, so be it. I wanna capture what makes you smile, the things and people that are special to you, the way you are when you don't know a camera is there, all the things that make your heart sing, no matter how unconventional. I wanna be there for all of it.

I started taking photos when I was just a wee babe of 15 after taking a photo class in high school. I took my first engagement photos of some friends a couples years later, and I've been growing my business ever since!
Typically, couples book me about one year before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame, because cancellations happen, random dates become open, and if I can fit you in my schedule, I will!
No, when you book with me, it's just me. Most weddings don't really require more than one photographer, unless it's just a really big guest list, or if the wedding parties are getting ready in totally different locations or something. If you think you might need another shooter, though, we can discuss and I can bring one of my trusted photographers with me for a smaller fee.
I edit all of the images I send you- fixing colors, brightness, contrast, etc. However, I believe in photographing authentically, and for that reason I don't believe in editing people to look skinnier, removing wrinkles, making someone look younger, thinner, lighter, darker, etc. The only things I alter are temporary, uncontrollable blemishes- acne, scrapes, bruises, and other things of the like.
I personally don't do video, I only focus on photo, but I can always recommend one of my assistants to take beautiful videos for you, and they can even use my editing style if you'd like.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 6-8 weeks after your wedding. I will send you your photos with a link via email, and you can share and download as many as you'd like with whoever you'd like.
I don't ever keep images from my clients for an additional fee, I prefer to give as many good photos as I can, and for this reason, the number vary. I typically give clients around 300-800 photos, depending on the length and size of wedding.
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
I've never had to cancel a booking for any reason, but in the case of an uncontrollable event that prevents me from being able to shoot, I'll have one of my associates take my place. If it comes to the point where I cannot shoot the wedding and neither can an associate, I'll reach out to the network of photographers I'm in touch with to find you a replacement.
This can vary a little, depending on when you book ,but typically, I require 50% up front, to secure your date in my calendar, and 50% is due at least 3-6 months prior to the wedding.
