I started DJing over a 15 years ago. In 2008 I started running my own event company, from weddings and private parties to corporate events. After all the planning was done, I became passionate about matching my clients vibe and intensity and sharing it with the rest of their guests. The DJ at every wedding is responsible for setting the tone through the music and lighting, emceeing, and coordinating the events that take place throughout the night. I’ve seen many weddings fall flat because of DJs who didn’t know how to entertain a crowd or would leave major gaps of silence in between songs, losing any build up they may have acquired.

At Wave Source Media, we are passionate about working by your side to create a professional and inspired event. Our open format DJing (being able to mix in any genre of music) will allow your day to be completely personalized with the style you desire. It’s no mystery why we’re as successful as we are. It all comes down to caring about the music and (most importantly) caring about our clients. We sit down with you and discuss exactly what atmosphere you’re wanting to create and customize our sets specifically for you.     Amazing DJ

    WE LOVE BERNARDO!!! We initially heard about Bernardo through our wedding photographer. She mentioned to us that she had worked with Bernardo before, and has loved every wedding that they've been able to work together at. So, we booked a consultation call with him, and after that call, we could not wait to have him DJ/MC our day! Bernardo is truly skilled at what he does. He doesn't just play a playlist for the ceremony and reception; No, he puts so much thought and attentiveness to understand what the mood should be within each event of a wedding. He helped set the tone of each transition period of our day. We got several compliments on how good of a job Bernardo did DJ-ing our wedding, and we couldn't agree more with those comments.     The Best Captain for the Ship

    Bernardo was absolutely incredible! When they say that the DJ runs your show, they aren’t kidding - and Bernarndo ran our show beautifully. The sound was great, the music flowed perfectly, and you could tell that he was mixing music, not just playing a playlist. My matron of honor gave Bernardo a copy of her speech when he arrived, and not only did he make sure to read it beforehand, he played a song, unprompted, that she mentioned in her speech near the end. This means that he read the speech and added the song without any request, and it created an incredibly special moment between my wife and my matron of honor. He makes sure to listen to what you need and guide you on what works best, and any request we had for changes the day of were no problem. Absolutely incredible DJ, would recommend to any and everyone.

    Willow, I love you guys!!! I’m so glad you and Hays had a wonderful time! To Morgan’s credit, she asked me while I was setting up if I could play that song at that moment. We quickly discussed where she wanted it to come in and out of, and the rest was just me reading through her speech to not miss my cue. 😃 I loved working with yalls music and how detailed you were with every aspect of your wedding! Your guests were awesome, you and Hays were stunning, and I truly am glad you had such a beautiful, memorable wedding!

Unless something else is requested, I come to set up in all black and change into a nice black suit for the wedding/event itself. Nice comfortable dress shoes, black slacks, a black dress shirt, and a matching suit.
Absolutely. I'll customize my set list for every couple. If there is something specific that they vibe with that I don't have, I make sure to grab it from a DJ record pool where the quality will be good. I'll spend anywhere between 20-40 hours the week of your wedding prepping, and that includes creating a set list and working that new song into my set list so it can be quickly mixed in and out and we're hearing the best bits of each song.
I've been in this business for over 15 years. I previously owned a company that ran 3-4 events throughout the Metroplex every weekend. We were a full in house service company that did Catering, Decorating, Flowers, Photography, DJ, Photo Booth, Green Screens, etc... I decided to go back to DJing full time because music and entertainment is my passion. I wanted to just focus on the part of weddings that I feel is the most important, and that's controlling the atmosphere in the room. What makes me different is that I've gone through it all and understand everyone's roll to create a truly personal experience for my couples.
I have a discussion with my couples first about what they want. If my couples are ok with it, if I have it, and I can work it in to the set where we don't ruin the vibe, yes. If it's on a DO NOT PLAY list, then I kindly tell them I'll play it if I have it, but I'll never throw anyone under the bus. The last thing a bride wants is for her cousin to come up to her and beg to allow the Cupid Shuffle and make the situation awkward.
Yes to both. I talk to my couples about the vibe they're wanting to create. Weddings is all about different atmospheres at different times. Once I have a good idea of what we're going for, I have music suggestions and playlists for ceremony's and cocktails, and I work with my couple to make sure their personality shows throughout what I'm playing. I want every guest to walk out of that wedding saying "That vibe was 100% them!"
Yes. And I proactively have a discussion with your venue to make sure I get them added as a preferred vendor. My insurance has never had a claim filed against it, and hopefully never will, but it protects the venue, my clients, and me from any issued that could possibly ever happen - such as someone running into my speakers and hurting themselves.
Like every DJ I have things I love to mix. Hip Hop and EDM for dancing, maybe throw in some 90s punk. But truly, I love everything and it just depends on my mood. I grew up extremely southern baptist where anything other than christian music was frowned upon... When I went to college I just submerged myself in absolutely everything from classic rock, to country, edm, hip hop, punk, raggaeton, you name it. What I LOVE about weddings is that every set list is different. DJing to me is the art of expressing yourself through music, but I get to express my couple's style and create a different atmosphere every night.
I give myself plenty of time to set up, change, and go over my notes. I want to be fully set before any of your guests start arriving. Depending on what enhancements we're providing I can be set up anywhere from 30 mins or an hour and that typically includes load in. I always do a site visit for a venue I'm not familiar with to make sure I've built that relationship with the venue, and I know everything I need to know without asking anyone any questions day of.
I do. I have a list of enhancements that I provide and I'm always adding to that. I customize my DJ packages according to what you're wanting for your wedding. Let's talk about what your ideal wedding is, and what I can provide.
I don't have an extra fee for anything other than travel expenses for destination weddings. My pricing is my pricing.
There is no sales tax for DJing. DJing is a service and thus not a taxable item.
