    Lovely venue with historical charm

    Swedish American Hall was our perfect home for our wedding day. The team responded to every question with speed and precision, and they genuinely listened to our very specific vision, especially when we wanted to drape their tall ceilings to create the exact atmosphere we imagined. They made us feel like we were in control of our special day. What really set them apart was how they helped us use their different spaces to shape the mood throughout with a cocktail room to kick things off, a separate dance floor where guests really let lose, and a grand reception space that felt both elegant and warm. The venue itself has this special historical charm that made everything feel intimate, like we were celebrating in a place with real character. We couldnt have asked for more thoughtful service paired with a space that truly felt like ours for the evening. Highly recommend Swedish American Hall and Cafe du Nord to couples looking for something distinctive. Their throne seats? Honestly iconic

    Perfect San Francisco Venue

    We are extremely fortunate to be based in San Francisco and have the luxury of working at the Swedish American Hall. Unlike your typical hotel ballroom or country club, the venue has a completely unique look which includes wood beams across the ceiling, a partial wrap around mezzanine, a built-in wood bar, and a platform stage, the perfect location for the ceremony, sweetheart table, or wedding cake. The venue provides tables and chairs, allows flexibility with vendors, and couples have the option of adding the below ground speakeasy, Cafe du Nord, for their cocktail hour or late-night dancing.

We do not have on-site parking but our venue is situated in the Upper Market/Castro area, between Church and Sanchez Streets, making it easily accessible for guests traveling to the historic venue via Muni bus and rail lines from hotels such as Hilton San Francisco Financial, Fairmont San Francisco, Hyatt Regency San Francisco, and more to the heart of the city for your special event.
Yes, our venue is full ADA compliant: We have an elevator to ensure that everyone can party on all levels.
All bar service is provided through Swedish American Hall/ Cafe Du Nord. We offer a range of bar packages and customization options. Outside beer & wine is allowed for a corkage fee, but outside spirits are not permitted.
