About this venue
The Red Lion Inn seamlessly blends rustic charm with coastal ease. Built in 1704, this historic inn boasts a magnificent Barn venue adorned with exquisite chandeliers, picturesque gardens, and several bars with enough space to host up to 250 guests. The inn also encompasses 15 hotel suites, onsite catering and event coordination, as well as intimate spaces for rehearsal dinners and private after-party celebrations. Every event at The Red Lion Inn is infused with gracious hospitality and New England elegance.

This wooden post beam Barn is the perfect space to host both ceremony and reception with a cocktail hour in the loft space. The loft holds its own two bars with wraparound bench seating fit to accommodate 170 standing guests or 80 seated guests. The main level hosts the boat bar, ample dancing space and seating for 170 guests. The Barn allows access to our picturesque garden and pool patio perfect for photo taking.

Experience the original inn built in 1704 complete with cozy wood burning fireplaces and a picturesque view of the kitchen.
This space features 5 wood burning fireplaces and distinctive accents that create a cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere for your continued late night celebration or buyout. During the warmer months, the Patio is open for outdoor dining. Just off the porch at the front of the Red Lion Inn is our beautiful patio. The amazing waterfall sets the scene of this serene get-away.

Wonderful Experience with the Red Lion Inn
Our wedding at the Red Lion was just perfect from beginning to end. We wouldn't change a thing. We all had a brilliant experience - the venue looked so special, the set-up really worked, the food was delicious, and all the guests were so happy to be there. Our guests came from all over the world, and all over the USA - and they are telling us it was the best wedding event ever. The site coordinator, Krystel, kept her watchful eye on everything during the event - she is so good at her job. Everything went right - and she made sure it all worked superbly. We will always treasure our happy memories of the reception at The Red Lion.

This venue is truly beautiful. We had our wedding here in April in the Barn. We worked with Krystel to plan our wedding and she did such an amazing job. She was on top of details and regularly checked in. She was accommodating, friendly, and professional. Our wedding was everything we hoped it would be. The venue itself is gorgeous, and we got so many compliments on the food. The staff is wonderful and always willing to help. Highly recommend this venue, you will be in great hands. Bonus, all the walkways are covered, so even if it's raining, there's no need to worry.

It’s been one month since our wedding and every day I go back to how loved and supported I felt on the best day of my life. The Red Lion Inn played a massive role in that. My husband and I fell in love with the venue the second we stepped foot inside. From the historic inn, to the stunning barn, to the location right in the heart of quaint Cohasset, the Red Lion Inn is the wedding venue you dream about. It seems impossible that anything could out-do the beauty and charm of the venue, but the staff sets the bar even higher. From Krystel, to Andrew, to Nancy, to the MVP Toufiq, I have never felt more spoiled in my life. Every single person that interacted with me and my guests was kind, professional, and generous with their time. On top of the charm and the incredible team, the food is second to none. As a vegetarian, I have been to so many weddings where my meal is an afterthought. But not at Red Lion. Every single thing on the menu was absolutely delicious, including the vegetarian options. Beyond how delicious the food is, they accommodated every single guest and their dietary needs like the pros that they are. Red Lion is worth every penny. If you are lucky enough to be considering this venue, I encourage you to fully commit. We were taken care of like family from the first time we stepped foot in the venue, and it is because of them that our wedding day was the best day of our lives. We already cannot wait to go back and have dinner in the tavern just so we can feel the warmth of that incredible place once more.
