Chic Spring Soirée in Carmel

The communication with the team at La Playa Carmel was quite confusing, short, and at times even hostile. While the venue itself is beautiful, we felt that it was extremely expensive for the value we received. They did help with the basics like setting up chairs for our ceremony, but we ended up paying an additional 2,000 just because our ceremony had more than 10 guests. The space rental alone is very pricey, and the food and beverage minimums were also exorbitant. Overall, we felt that the value just wasn't there for the high cost of hosting our wedding at La Playa Carmel.

La Playa did a phenomenal job hosting our wedding and our families. If you have the chance, I highly recommend staying at the venue too. Every single staff member was so sweet and attentive during our whole stay and throughout the wedding itself.

Also, I have to say the hotel breakfast was everything I dreamed of and should be the standard for a five star hotel. And the cookies? Truly to die for.

On our wedding day, I honestly felt like a VIP. The way the staff made sure we were fed, hydrated, and completely taken care of meant so much. Michelle was amazing at answering questions both before and during the wedding. When we met her at the food tasting, I loved how direct and to the point she was.

Primo was incredible. I felt so calm knowing he and the entire La Playa team had everything handled. They created such a smooth, unforgettable experience not just for my fiancé and me, but for all of our guests. The catering team absolutely did an amazing job, the dinner was delicious and beautifully done.

Some people might not love that hotel guests can see or walk by your wedding, but honestly, I found it kind of sweet. Everyone was so nice and congratulatory. It made the whole day feel even more joyful and special.

I can’t even take credit for finding this venue, my fiancé toured it and fell in love. Then our photographer recommended it, and that sealed the deal. We’re so glad we went with it.

After staying here, I truly don’t think I could ever stay at another hotel in Carmel. This experience was just that magical. Thank you so much!
