About this venue

The DCTV Firehouse is an authentic 1895 landmark firehouse in SoHo that's part media space, part artist's studio, part wedding venue. Think: soaring ceilings, exposed brick, industrial soul, professional AV systems, and genuine character. It's not traditional—it's you. Three distinct spaces, outdoor alleyway access, and a team that actually gets unconventional couples. Every rental dollar supports DCTV's nonprofit media education work. You get a one-of-a-kind space, professional AV systems most venues don't have, a team that gets unconventional couples, and the peace of mind that your rental dollars fund real creative work in our community.

Step into a dramatic, secret artist's loft with soaring 90-foot vaulted ceilings, exposed steel beams, and gothic window dormers. This 1,300 sq ft historic firehouse space features incredible natural light, full blackout capabilities, and elevator access. Perfect for intimate ceremonies (up to 70 seated) and small receptions. A truly unique, theatrical setting.

We've got room for everyone, from intimate gatherings to bigger parties. Here's the breakdown: Studio 100: 70 people seated, 100 standing – intimate feels, think ceremony vibes or a cozy reception Event Space: 115 seated, 200 standing – our star player; this is where most full receptions happen Engine Bay: 25 seated, 50 standing – our sweet little side space (perfect for cocktails or a backup when the main room is busy) Pro move: Rent the Event Space + Engine Bay together and you get access to our outdoor alleyway. Morning light, fresh air, phenomenal for photos.
Our landmark firehouse isn't your typical wedding venue. Built in 1895, this stunning building is modelled on a 16th-century French chateau from the Loire Valley. Even better, it’s based in the heart of Manhattan. We don’t just offer high ceilings and dramatic Gothic windows: we also offer cutting edge technology like immersive sound and automated lighting to make your big day unforgettable. Our experienced team will work with you to figure out every detail of your ceremony setup, creating a bespoke event that will live up to your dreams.
Absolutely. Full wheelchair access, so everyone can celebrate without worrying about logistics.
Here's the process: Fill out our Venue Rental Request Form or just message us here – tell us your date, party size, and what you're envisioning Our Venue Rentals Manager, Christian, gets back to you. He'll talk through your vision, what the space can actually do, and give you a number that makes sense for your event We require a 50% deposit to lock in your date, with the remaining 50% due 48 hours before your wedding day.
Your rental includes exclusive, private use of the venue for your wedding day. In addition to the space, our team provides support with: Catering: We can recommend our trusted catering partners or welcome your preferred outside vendors. Audio & Visual: Our in-house technicians are available to ensure your DJ, videographer, and sound systems run flawlessly. Event Enhancements: We can arrange for extra lighting, specialty gear, and other equipment as needed.
We know that life happens and plans can change! If you need to cancel your booking more than two weeks out, we will refund 40% of your deposit. Unfortunately, if you cancel within 14 days of your wedding, the deposit is non-refundable. (Because of this, we always recommend looking into wedding insurance just in case!) We'll go over all the details regarding rescheduling when you book with us, as we always try to be as flexible and helpful as possible.
We don't offer in-house catering, but we have a fantastic list of recommended vendors. From intimate chef experiences to full-scale catering setups, we can point you in the right direction. You are also entirely welcome to bring your own catering team! Just loop us in early so we can coordinate kitchen access and load-in times.
If you rent the Event Space and Engine Bay together, you gain access to our versatile outdoor area.
As a historic firehouse, we don't have dedicated parking on-site. However, there is street parking present, as well as multiple paid lots within a three-block radius.
Yes! The building is fully equipped with heating for the winter and air conditioning for the summer, ensuring you and your guests stay completely comfortable.
Due to strict fire codes (it is a firehouse, after all!), open flames are not permitted. However, there are incredible alternatives like LED candles, lanterns, string lights, and uplighting.
There is strictly no smoking or vaping inside the building. Smoking in the outside alleyway is determined on a case-by-case basis by our team on the day of the event.
Yes! We’ve hosted everything from minimal, modern designs to extravagant floral installations. Let's discuss your aesthetic during the planning phase. We’ll guide you on what works best and what restrictions apply.
For day-of deliveries, please ensure your vendors have your name and contact info to avoid any mix-ups. If you'd like to drop items off before the wedding day, reach out to Christian (our Venue Rentals Manager) and we’ll coordinate a time for you to stage your items in advance.
Yes, and it’s top-tier. Because DCTV is a professional media production space, we offer a high-quality, built-in audio setup. This includes multiple professional speakers, a mixing console, and subwoofers for rich, clear sound. (For your tech team: we use a Mackie mixer, QSC/Yamaha speakers, and a dedicated subwoofer).
Yes! We have a Christie 4K laser projector (11,000 lumens), which means your visuals will be crisp and clear even in daylight. It’s perfect for ceremony videos, slideshows, or custom graphics during cocktail hour.

As a nonprofit media organization, we are careful about how we are publicly represented. We ask that you please refrain from tagging us when promoting your event online, as we do not officially promote or endorse individual rentals.
