The Barnett on Washington is a unique and sophisticated St. Louis event space, that has been making its’ client’s dreams a reality since 2013. The Barnett, which is on the National Historical Building Registry, has an extended history beginning in 1921.

This outdoor patio bar is a hidden gem in mid town Saint Louis. It has doors leading into the Barnett so you are able to hosts guests for a private cocktail hour outside and easily transition inside for the main event. Space offers full granite wrap around bar, gas fire pit, slate waterfall.

    Wonderful venue

    Barnett On Washington was the perfect venue for our wedding. Joe was super easy to talk to and made sure I had the wedding of my dreams, even with last minute requests. The venue was definitely one of my most favorite - the space was beautiful and the staff was so attentive. It was worth every penny, and I would highly recommend Barnett On Washington to any couple looking for a wonderful wedding venue.

    Barnett On Washington was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, their team was incredibly responsive, helpful, and provided constant check-ins to ensure we felt supported throughout the planning process. On the day of, they went above and beyond to help us with an unexpected emergency, and everything was executed perfectly. The space itself is absolutely stunning - beautifully decorated with a classic, timeless style that our guests raved about. We received so many compliments on the venue and the staff as a whole. Barnett On Washington truly helped make our special day everything we could have hoped for and more.

    The Best Venue

    The Barnett was the BEST choice for a wedding venue. It is so beautiful and all of our guests adored it. You barely have to decorate because it is so pretty. It is small and intimate and the stairs were perfect to have our wedding party come down. They have both an indoor and outdoor bar and had fantastic bartenders. There is a secure parking lot and they do offer valet as an add on. Working with Joe was seriously the best. He is so helpful and makes the process so much more fun.

Yes! Our building opens to our clients and their vendors 1 hour before ceremonies and 2 hours before receptions. If you are having both your ceremony and reception here, our building will open 2 hours before your ceremony. This allows for time before guest arrival to set up and decorate. We also allow an hour after the end of the event for décor and vendor breakdown.
Included in the cost of the rental is the space, tables, gold chiavari chairs, , and a venue manager. Your venue manager will coordinate event logistics and timing as they relate to our venue and services.
Yes, we have two patio spaces available to guests. Complimentary access to our lower patio that includes an ambient fire pit and a waterfall fountain is available to you and your guests. This is also a smoking area, and a great place to make a quite phone call during a reception. The Bronson House is our larger patio space and can be rented as an individual space.
Most of our receptions fall between 100 and 150 people, however at maximum capacity we can seat up to 180 with a buffet and 200 people for a plated meal service. For a ceremony rental we can seat a maximum of 180 people. If you would like to have both your ceremony and reception with us, we recommend a guest count of around 150 people.
Once an event has been booked (deposit paid and contract signed), there will be no refunds of money for a cancelled date. We are happy to work with you to reschedule the event within one year of the original date.
Yes, we do have ceremony only rentals available in the afternoon from 12-2pm. The Guest arrival, ceremony, and staged pictures all to take place within the rental time frame.
We are happy to add valet parking onto your rental for an additional fee. Street and metered parking is always available to your guests, as well as use of our parking lots located behind our building. (Parking lot security included in weekend evening rentals.)
We have a full-service bar and do not allow outside alcohol on premise. If there is a special request, we are happy to order it for an additional charge. If we are unable to source the item, we may allow you to bring it in for a corkage fee. We will hold it and our bar staff will serve it from our bar.
Yes, all our facilities are wheelchair accessible.
