About Touch Of Jewel Events & Designs, Llc

Touch Of Jewel Events & Designs, LLC

Founder & Creative Director

In 2009, a young Nigerian-American college girl from Dallas, TX, found herself planning her 800-guest, multi-day, culturally rich wedding due to a lack of local wedding planners. This journey was both stressful and exhilarating, a profound learning experience. As our engagement faced strain and wedding planning took over our lives, we realized the need for professional help. We hired an out-of-state wedding planner, which made me understand the true value of this service. After a decade of happiness in our marriage, I found my calling in creating memorable events and established Touch of Jewel Events & Designs.

What sets us apart is my personal journey and experience. I went through the stress and challenges of planning my own complex wedding, which helped me truly grasp the value of a wedding planner. My own experiences have given me empathy for the clients' struggles in relationships, budgeting, family dynamics, and decision-making, making my approach unique. My passion and ability to create memorable events have translated into a successful career at Touch of Jewel Events & Designs, offering a personalized and understanding approach to event planning.

In three words: Creative, Flexible, Organized

TOJ offers a Full Service Planning, Design & Production in local weddings, destination weddings, social events, or corporate events, GALA and Non-Profit.
Yes, we have a minimum budget. To produce the magnitude of designs and events you see on our page, we require a minimum budget requirement of $80k for weddings and $20k for social events. Our wedding couples typically budget and spend an average of $800-$1000 per guest. For example, a guest count of 100 would require a budget of $80K - $100k.
We charge a retainer of $3500 to lock in your date plus a percentage of our clients overall budget of the event elements we manage. So rest assured, we’re not getting a percentage off your $15k Ese Azenabor custom wedding gown! Or the fees for your penthouse getting ready suite that we book for you. Your total planning fee is split into 4 equal payments.
Our service is a luxury and we understand that we are not for the masses, nor do we want to be. We are exclusive to a handful of distinct clients, producing no more than 8-10 weddings in a year.
Our primary form of communication is via email. However, our clients have access to contact us more privately on our personal numbers via call, text or WhatsApp messages.
We charge a percentage so that we can be fairly compensated based on the scope of our couples event. It also prevents us from coming back to ask for more money when their guest count increases and we need more staff to manage the guests or we suddenly find out we need to grade the ground to install a tent for an outdoor wedding. Having over a decade of experience in the industry, we have experienced changes in clients event scopes.
