I hired Abbey with something pink wedding planning (old name) to have someone do the setup, take down and cleanup for our wedding day. The package I chose was the “month of coordinator” so it included more than I was looking for. The issues started with the rehearsal dinner. Our rehearsal began at 5:30 PM, and I received a text at 4:44 PM letting me know the owner was going to be late, she told me she didn’t realize the venue was an hour away, (but also told me she had done a wedding there before). I was told her ETA was around 6:00 PM, which was the same time our rehearsal was scheduled to end. At that point, I told her not to come. Had she attended the rehearsal, she would have known exactly what had been practiced and the expectations for the wedding day. There were also issues with communication and coordination. The planners changed the order of sending out the beer boy as we were getting ready to walk down the aisle, but the DJ was never notified. This was especially frustrating because the order they changed was different from what we had practiced at rehearsal. I was literally walking into the venue with my dad to walk down the aisle when I was informed of the change. Another issue occurred when my matron of honor asked the planning team to clean up the ceremony space and remove the flower girl petals. She actually had to pull them into the kitchen to address it, and they told her that cleaning up the ceremony space was not their job. For a wedding planning/coordinating service, I found that response extremely disappointing. I was supposed to have the final timeline two weeks prior to the wedding, and I did not receive it until 6-days prior to the wedding date. Throughout the planning process, there were additional concerns that I haven’t even included in this review. Other vendors working our wedding also independently shared their concerns and opinions about their experience with Something Pink Wedding Planning, which unfortunately reinforced some of the concerns we had already experienced ourselves. At the end of the night, our decorations and belongings were essentially stuffed into boxes, with some decorations broken in the process. After investing so much time, money, and emotion into our wedding, I expected much more care and professionalism in handling everything at the end of the evening. I understand that weddings can be hectic and that not everything will go perfectly. However, communication, preparation, professionalism, and attention to detail are especially important when someone is hired to coordinate such an important day. Unfortunately, those were the areas where we experienced the most issues. I am sharing this review so future couples can make an informed decision when choosing their wedding planner. There were some positives, particularly with the assistant who was very professional, but overall, our experience did not meet the level of service or professionalism we expected. Before my review I sent my concerns to the planner. She essentially took accountability for not showing up to the rehearsal. Everything else, her pushback was blaming everyone else. She blamed me for different timelines when she said she reached out to all vendors prior and was added to the DJ app with times. I gave her an opportunity to respond but after 10-days of no response I decided to post my reviews.

I had the pleasure of coordinating with this Abbey for a wedding style shoot in Northeast Ohio, and I couldn’t be more impressed! Her creative approach and attention to detail brought the vision to life beautifully. She is professional, responsive, and genuinely great to work with throughout the process.
