We booked the Full Day-Of Coordination package with Dahlia Events, which included creation of a timeline, assistance with rehearsal coordination, day-of coverage and taking over vendor communication starting one month out. These services were clearly listed at the time of booking and were a major reason we chose this company and package. Unfortunately, that wasn’t what we experienced. Communication was minimal from the beginning. Rather than stepping in a month out to manage logistics and vendors, we found ourselves chasing our coordinator, Sasha, for updates and clarity. I created the timeline myself. While she gave some initial feedback, she never responded to the revised timeline and our follow-up questions. Some major things, like signing our marriage license, were missing and she didn’t even point those out. We didn’t hear from her again until the week of the wedding and that was only after we reached out first. The week of our wedding, we raised concerns and asked to schedule a call to align on expectations. At that time, we also noticed that the company’s online description of the package and pricing had been updated. Services that had been included when we booked (like vendor communication a month out) were now add-ons or removed entirely. This felt sketchy, unprofessional and only deepened our concerns. We actually tried to cancel during our call but were convinced not to. Execution from that point on fell short across the board. We shared a clear list of priority tasks, which included coordinating family photos. Sasha said “I will work closely with your photographers ensuring we get all of those photos and assist them in gathering people when it’s their turn for photos”. But she was no where to be found during this portion of the evening and it was beyond stressful and disorganized. The rehearsal also left us uneasy. She didn’t lead the walkthrough and stood quietly off to the side. On the wedding day, she didn’t check in with either of us (bride and groom) AT ALL. She didn’t take initiative and when our family and bridal party asked questions, she didn’t know the answer. There was no feeling of support having her at our wedding, instead she made us uncomfortable standing in the corner staring at us holding her clipboard. Our DJ, photographer and family members ended up stepping in to cover key details. We booked this service to reduce stress, not add to it. Unless major improvements are made in transparency, communication and professionalism, we cannot recommend this company or service.

We hired Dahlia to handle all of the decor and tablescapes for our Engagement party in Northern Michigan at a private estate and it was absolutely flawless! Sasha brought together some unexpectedly unique and beautiful table decorations, plus we rented a few extras that were new and well kept, such as beverage dispensers and buffet chaffing dishes to keep the food hot. We also rented a big wooden triangular shaped arch, which she turned into a gorgeous backdrop by covering it in flowers and eucalyptus with twinkle lights. If we were getting married in Michigan, we'd hire Dahlia Events in a heartbeat to plan and design our entire wedding!

Dahlia Events and Decor was a fantastic wedding planning partner for our special day. Their communication was highly responsive, whether by email, text, or phone, and they maintained a professional demeanor throughout the process. The quality of their work was truly impressive - they were able to take our vision and turn it into a customized, unique, and alternative event that exceeded our expectations. Dahlia took the stress away from worrying about our timeline on the day of our wedding, and they worked closely with our budget to help us save a lot of money by bundling their day-of coordination services with the a la carte decor they provided. We are so grateful to the Dahlia team for contributing to making our wedding day truly unforgettable!
