About Ross Photography

Ross Photography

Photographer & Videographer

Ross Photography is a wedding photography business operating out of Escondido, California. Previously working in photojournalism, I have a keen eye for capturing the candid moments of authentic emotion that reveal themselves throughout every once-in-a-lifetime celebration. I try to put passionate and creativity into every project that I take on, I strive to craft stress-free photography experiences and images that reflect each couple’s one-of-a-kind romantic bond.

With my photography previously rooted in journalism, I’m always looking through the eyes of a storyteller. My instincts are to preserve each moment in a natural style, breathing a sense of real-life into each image.

We initially hired Naiya for our engagement and wedding photos. She cancelled our first engagement session which was incredibly inconvenient as both my fiancee and I took take time off and scheduled hair cuts and other appointments in preparation. It took nearly a month to reschedule (effectively wasting our appointments) as she was completely unreachable and ignored all of my texts to reschedule until I finally called her, which she ignored, and then texted me back immediately to reschedule. During the photoshoot she pretty much forgot all of my inspiration photos and I was effectively directing myself and my fiancee in order to get any of the pictures I wanted. She was very awkward and off putting in person. I lost one of my nails during the shoot which she told me she would fix in post, which she never did. It took over a month to get our photos back after trying repeatedly to get in contact with her for a solid week, which she routinely ignored until she sent me all the photos saying she "thought she already sent them." None of the photos were edited and were completely raw images from her camera. The photos were poorly cropped and were just plain not good. Incredibly disappointing. When I tried to contact her about fixing the editing and my missing nail she completely ghosted me, which from other reviews seems like her MO. Save yourself the headache and DO NOT use this person.

DO NOT USE! Naiya is almost impossible to get ahold of and scammed us out of a deposit. We booked her services for an engagement session and our wedding. The week leading up to the engagement session, I reached out via multiple texts, emails, and calls to various phone numbers I could find on her website and our contract with no response. Hours before our engagement session was scheduled to happen, she texted me cancelling and asking to reschedule. When I told her we no longer felt comfortable moving forward due to the lack of communication and planning, she ghosted us. At this time, only I had signed the contract and she had still not signed almost two months later. The contract explicitly stated no refund of the deposit with ALL signatures, so I requested a refund as no services had been rendered. She continued to ignore all my attempts at reaching out for a refund and has refused to acknowledge that our contract has been voided. After multiple attempts to resolve on our own, we had to report her to the Better Business Bureau. Almost immediately after that report, she went in and SIGNED THE CONTRACT, confirming to me that she has absolutely ZERO intention of resolving this with us or refunding us our money. For two young adults paying out of pocket for their wedding, this is a devastating financial loss. I cannot recommend enough avoiding this photographer at all costs.

I found Naiya when searching for a young, female photographer for my wedding on The Knot. I specifically wanted to support a woman breaking into the industry and I can’t express just how happy I am that we ended up working together. Naiya did my engagement and wedding photos and I’m so grateful for her craft. I was feeling really anxious, as I normally hate photos of myself, but Naiya did such a beautiful job that it actually made me tear up when I received them. She made me and my now-husband feel so comfortable, and we loved chatting with her. We specifically wanted a lot of candid photos and she totally delivered. Communication with her was quick and easy and I found her pricing to be more than fair. She had suggestions for us when we weren’t sure what to do and she accommodated all our requests. She captured our spirit and made all our friends and family look amazing! I cannot recommend Naiya enough and we will definitely be working with her again for all our future professional photo needs. Naiya is extremely talented and professional, while remaining approachable and genuine. We can’t wait to work with her again!

My husband and I hired Naiya for an engagement shoot and to photograph our wedding. She was extremely difficult to get ahold of the entire time. When we reached out to confirm details of our engagement shoot, it took multiple days of emails and phone calls to hear back, only for her to cancel last minute. When we tried to rebook, we also could not reach her. She no showed for a planning phone call prior to our wedding, and we finally had to hire a new photographer less than a week before our wedding since she did not follow through on any of the venue insurance requirements and we never heard back from her about photography timeline. We eventually got our money back after 2 months of multiple broken promises and excuses after I initiated a chargeback through my credit card.
