About Marie Monforte Photography

Marie Monforte Photography

Born in the Netherlands, I grew up in 4 time zones, 3 countries and 2 continents, but finally put my roots down here in SoCal. Now my husband, our two dreamboat kids, our fur-baby, (and the box turtle I've had since I was 10) live in a little beach town just north of San Diego. By day I'm beach bound, but in the evenings I'm often editing away, though you might also catch me making jewelry, curled up on the couch watching re-runs of Schitt's Creek. I consider myself a Citizen of the World and use my dual passports to experience as much of it as I can. Next stop: Bali for our 10-year. Some day: an African Safari!

I am most inspired by raw emotion, candid connection, and authentic affection. But my main focus, always, is your experience - how you feel working with me. Because if you have a genuinely great time at our session the photos will reflect genuinely awesome memories - not just fakery contrived for photo ops. Because if I create a comfortable space for you to be yourself, wildly and freely, without abandon, then together we can create compelling, emotive imagery that goes beyond aesthetic beauty - it transports you back to how you really felt in those moments worth remembering.

    Perfection!

    Our wedding photos turned out so incredibly beautiful, I am having trouble not filling our walls with them because there are so many amazing pictures to choose from. Not only this, but Marie was SO helpful and easy to work with on the day of, she really made things feel seamless for me as a bride. AND she gave me some great non-photography related ideas for our small 20 person wedding when we had our first consult!!! I seriously could not recommend her enough!

Nope. I choose to specialize in photography to give you the very best of this specific art form. However I know several wonderful videographers and am happy to refer you to them - so you can have a team that focuses on video with the same intention and care that I give your photography.
My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 4-8 weeks after your wedding.
You will receive all the best images from your day, edited in our signature style. I only remove true out-takes from your collection such as duplicates, eyes-closed, flash didn't fire, soft focus, or someone walked in front of the lens. I hesitate to list an amount because every wedding day varies so significantly, but you can expect about 50-100 high resolution jpegs per hour of coverage.
Our exclusivity clause ensures that we are the only hired vendor photographing your day, but we would't dream of asking your family and friends not to take their own photos for enjoyment. We will kindly ask them to stay out of the aisle during your ceremony, to give us space to get what we need, and request privacy during your couple's portrait time as guests can be distracting during romantics.
In fairness to all my clients, I cannot hold dates. Bookings are confirmed with a paid retainer and fully executed contract - all on a first come, first served basis. (I will, however, offer the courtesy of informing you about any competing inquiries as they come in).
Definitely - and we can provide documentation to prove it. Most venues require at least $1 million in liability coverage and besides, it's just solid business practice. We carry insurance on our gear, liability insurance, plus errors and omissions insurance for our business. We'll even reach out to your venue on your behalf to make sure they have everything they need from us ahead of time.
