My work blends true-to-color edits with rich, cinematic tones, and I shoot on both digital and 35mm film to bring a little texture, nostalgia, and realness to every gallery. She just gets it
Choose Emily. I didn’t know it was possible to capture such raw joy, love, and FUN until seeing her photos. I almost booked a different photographer until I saw her photos and how she just got it. She is somehow able to convey the most intimate moments, while also getting artsy shots from the dance floor. When the rain disrupted our day, she handled it like the pro she is, made sure we still got the most beautiful portraits, and kept me stress free. I don’t know that I would have been able to have the perfect day without her. She didn’t just get the shots I asked for like it was a checklist. She totally bought into our vision and ran with it (see photos of us with our porch geese below, LOL). Emily’s video team also captured the silliness and genuine love of our day. We will cherish these memories forever as we and our loved ones get older.

Absolutely amazing!
Hiring Emily was easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! She also shot our engagement photos, which was the perfect way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. By the time our wedding arrived, it felt like having a close friend capture our memories. Emily has an incredible eye for detail and beautifully captured both the candid emotions and the posed portraits. She kept everything running smoothly and made us feel so relaxed and confident. After the ceremony my bustle broke and she didn’t hesitate to step in and strategically place a ton of safety pins to keep my bustle in place, and it didn’t budge for the rest of the night! We are absolutely obsessed with how all of our photos turned out and will cherish them forever. We couldn't recommend her more!

She captured the Vibe
From our first conversation with Emily Avila Photography & Videography, we knew we had found the right fit. She was responsive to every question and made us feel at ease throughout the entire planning process. On our wedding day, Emily captured not just moments but the true vibe and personality of everyone there—something we've never seen done so well before. What really impressed us was her commitment to excellence; she carefully reviewed every single photo to ensure they were flawless. The final gallery was gorgeous, and the couple and family portraits are the most beautiful photos we've ever had taken. A comfortable experience and beautiful photos!
We stumbled across Emily’s website while looking for Philly engagement photographers and absolutely loved her vibe. Working with her was so easy and natural; she’s great at making people feel comfortable and setting up poses and shots that don’t feel too staged. We’re both a bit camera shy, but the photos show none of that! We’re in love with the results and so glad we found a photographer who was able to capture photos that felt unique to us. Emily was so communicative and flexible throughout the whole process with scheduling and planning for the shoot. Her turnaround time was also insanely fast considering how many photos she included! We had a tight window for getting this shoot finished before moving out of the area, and she was able to work with us with plenty of time to spare. She is fantastic! We highly recommend.

Emily's the best!
Emily is an amazing wedding photographer! My husband and I are not comfortable in front of the camera at all, so we definitely appreciated the engagement photo session to get to know Emily and her style. Leading up to the wedding, Emily was very communicative about what information she needed to make the day run smoothly. On our actual wedding day, we had some unexpected snow, so Emily was running a bit behind. However, she was able to send a third shooter so we were able to stick to our original schedule and didn't miss any of the photos before the ceremony! Her ideas and vision for photos are so creative and fun. She pulled us out of the reception for about 20 minutes to take some photos outside and in the lobby/elevator of our venue. We have gotten so many compliments on those photos and it was really nice to take some time to ourselves during the reception. The dance photos are also SO fun! She really captured the vibe and how hard we all were dancing. I would definitely recommend booking Emily for your wedding or any other life events!
