I'm Eleni. I've been photographing weddings and elopements for over 10 years, on digital and film. Somewhere along the way I stopped trying to run the day, and started watching it — I'm at my best when I can disappear into a day: catching the look you two give each other before anyone else notices, the quiet minute before the ceremony, the stuff you don't stage because you can't. Most of my life outside work is spent outdoors, and the days I love most tend to end up somewhere with a view worth the hike. I hiked the entire Appalachian Trail — so when a couple wants to get married somewhere that takes real effort to reach, I'm not the photographer who hesitates. I've probably already been there. But the terrain isn't the point; it's what happens on it. What I chase is the way two people fall into each other when they forget anyone's watching - the laughing, the crying, the weird private jokes, the small unguarded stuff that never shows up when someone's posing you.
