Clean Plate Pictures began when Erica Beckman left her fancy Photo Editor job at The Wall Street Journal to photograph happy couples full-time - guess what? Weddings are way more fun. Erica earned her degree in photography and uses her twenty years of experience in the industry to bring exacting editorial standards and creative excellence to all her work. Her documentary style captures genuine emotions and artfully records events as they unfold organically.

    Thank you Erica!

    From the moment we booked Clean Plate Pictures, we were impressed with their communication and responsiveness. Erica was always open to our suggestions and worked closely with us to ensure they captured our day perfectly. Her impeccable attention to detail and great eye for the perfect shot were evident in every photo. She was able to herd our many relatives to make the family shoot less stressful, and even made the slightly janky Hyatt Place look elegant in the getting-ready photos. Erica was so friendly and had a strong expertise on the best shots for our venue. We were thrilled that Erica was willing to travel to New York City to shoot our engagement photos as well. We absolutely loved working with Erica (and Elle the second shoot, a dream!) and would highly recommend Clean Plate Pictures to any couple looking for professional, talented, and personable wedding photographers.

    Magical experience

    Erica was absolutely amazing to work with from answering all our questions meeting up to the day of and everything in between. Erica and Lee were so amazing and truly captured the little happy moments for our wedding day we had so much fun with them and are beyond thrilled with our sneak peek photos we can’t wait to see the rest!     Absolutely exceptional photographer team

    Erica was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. She was incredibly responsive and patient during our booking process. She helped us build the perfect engagement shoot that was exactly what we wanted. And then on wedding day she was everything we needed -- my now husband has said a few times now that Erica's calm, cool, organized demeanor was a HUGE help for our day-of anxiety. We just got back our full gallery of photos and could not be happier. The images are stunning and everything we'd hoped for. Highly recommend Erica and her team!

    Absolute perfection

    Erica and Elle were a dream to work with for our wedding! After seeing Erica in action at a wedding I was in the bridal party for, we knew we wanted her to photograph our Brooklyn wedding too. From the planning, to wrangling everyone day-of, to the photographs themselves and our wonderful album, we could not have asked for a better person to document our wedding. Since then, Clean Plate Pictures also photographed my sister's wedding and that of a good friend. Erica also referred us to our Coordinator and Photobooth, both of whom we were also incredibly happy with. We can not recommend Clean Plate enough!

We work with each client to create an individual schedule that meets your needs and hopes for the day. We like to start early, photographing details as you get ready for the big day. From there, we’ll find time for portraits and all the family photos you need. We’ll be close by throughout the ceremony and reception, capturing candids of you and your guests.
Engagements shoots are a ton of fun – we love them! They’re a great, low-pressure setting in which to meet and get used to working together. They give you an idea of what being photographed is like, and give us an idea of what you’re into and how you interact with each other. More than a warm-up, it’s a chance to celebrate your love in a way that’ll take the pressure off the big day.

We have a really easy online booking process. First off, get in touch and we’ll send you our wedding guide, then we can talk about the collection you want – we have a range of options for different budgets. When you’re ready to book we’ll send you a link so you can sign the contract and pay the 35% non-refundable retainer online. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to your wedding.
Once you’ve signed the contract and paid the deposit, the date is yours! But before that, unfortunately, we can’t make reservations. We will, however, try to let you know if someone else is interested in the date.
Yes, we do! We love shooting destination weddings. Travel fees apply for any locations outside of the Tri-State area or the Catskills.
8-12 weeks after the wedding you’ll receive a web gallery with your fully edited, high-resolution photo files that you can order prints from or download
The number of images depends on the length of the shoot. For an average 8-hour wedding, the couple usually receives between 800 and 1000 images. Each image will be individually color corrected and edited for clarity and lighting. We also add an artistic element to the images and, if needed, we include spot and blemish removal.
Yep! We carry a two million dollar event liability policy and are happy to provide venues with copies of the certificate of insurance.
