About Ashley Helen Photography

Ashley Helen

Owner | Lead Photographer

Artist | Mama | Aspiring Plant Lady | Insatiable Sweet Tooth | Enneagram 9 | Southerner Living in New England Lover of antiques, rustic European style, and fluffy animals. Middle of three sisters. Collector of vintage cameras, milk glass, and music boxes. Hi! I'm Ashley. I'm a fine-art wedding and boudoir photographer, and love what I do because of the places I've been and the people I have met (and photographed) along the way. I work with Old-World Romantics who value heirlooms and elegance to create bespoke wedding albums worth cherishing for generations.

My superpower is my calming presence, and natural posing. Even in the most stressful situations, I am calm and collected. I love being able to look past the chaos and find solutions. This comes especially in use during wedding days, when anything unexpected can come up. It's a big day, and no matter what, I have your back. Couples often tell me they are not photogenic or unsure of what to do in photos. I will coach you through each pose, but also work off the way you naturally interact with each other. These naturally posed images give a candid feel, and exude your unique selves in a way I could never over-contrive.

    The most beautiful pictures!

Ashley Helen captures the most elegant images, her creativity is fantastic and we could not be more pleased. In addition to her finding a way to make our day perfect, her follow-up and professionalism was also perfect. The wedding album itself is beyond anything we could have imagined. Her attention to details is evident in the quality of images she was able to produce. Our wedding day was presented with the grace and class we had hoped for, nothing was typical or cheesy, everything aligned with our plans!

A: I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
A: In the very rare event that I’m unable to photograph your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues and/or my contracted second photographer. This replacement will be with someone of equal or greater skill. I wouldn't send someone I wouldn't also be happy with photographing my own wedding.
A: You can expect about 50 to 100 images per hour of photographing. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding collection, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
A: My turnaround time varies by season. Typically, you’ll be able to view your photos online about 60 days after your wedding. However, I love sharing sneak peek images with you as quickly as possible, often during your honeymoon!
A: No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible. However, I have worked with some fantastic videographers and would be happy to send along some trusted names.
A: Absolutely. Each image delivered will be meticulously hand-edited and color corrected to match the aesthetic seen in my portfolio.
A: Each wedding includes two photographers. We have a rhythm and system of working together to tell the full story of your day. I stay in the bride’s getting ready room, while my second spends time with the guys; We work together for two vantage points during the first look & ceremony; During family portraits my second will head to cocktail hour for candids of your guests enjoying time together
A: Couples book me anywhere between 9-18 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
A: Yes! Upon receiving your images, you will also get a full print release. Through your online gallery, you will have easy access to upload your images as high resolution print size, and low resolution for social sharing.
A: While I never limit my shooting on a wedding day to a quoted number, and I shoot to fully tell the story that is unfolding, a typical number of images clients receive is between 75-100 per hour that we’re shooting.
A: One of the main things I like to talk about early in the planning process is your timeline. Each wedding is different, but I generally find that 8 hours is absolutely ideal. I would love to chat through the details of your wedding and put together a tentative timeline during our initial consultation, so you can see exactly what your day should look like.
A: Yes! From wedding planners to florists, bands, dj’s and caterers, I have worked with some of the best companies in the industry & would love to share their information with you!
A: I highly recommend ordering prints through the studio, but it is not required. The difference in quality is huge when it comes to ordering through a professional lab, so I encourage clients to let me help with prints. However, you do have printing rights to your wedding photos!
A: Yes! I’ve been traveling my entire life, and love seeing new places and am more than happy to create a custom wedding collection to suit your travel needs. I've photographed everywhere from New England to North Carolina, Florida, France, India, and South America.
A: After we get to chat about the details of your wedding and your vision for the day, I will send over an online proposal. Your entire booking process is easy to navigate through this proposal. A 50% retainer & signed contract is required in order to get your wedding day on the calendar. The remainder of your balance is due 30 days prior to your wedding.
