I provide custom beauty timelines to keep your day stress-free and am available throughout the process to answer any questions. I also offer hair extensions to help achieve fuller, more intricate styles when needed. From the trial to the final touch-up, I’m here to make your vision a reality and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Yes, and the fee depends if both Desirée and Mikaela are both needing to travel over a certain number of miles to your location to provide services. If only one needs to travel, the fee is usually lower.
Yes, because we are traveling within Cape Cod or out of Cape Cod during the summer, the traffic here is REAL! If you know, you know!
Yes a 200 holiday fee is applied to any weddings on a holiday weekend, again, Cape traffic causes all kinds of stress!
Yes! Lashes are included in your service!
Yes! If time allows we would LOVE to accommodate as many additional services so that anyone who wants to feel their best on your big day who may be in photos or is a special person in your life, that they have that luxury too. Payment is due at the time of service.
Yes! Brides need a trial to book their services. This gives us the chance to discuss your vision, try out a few styles or looks, and ensure everything runs smoothly and stress-free on the wedding day. You can always change your mind or make tweaks on the day of but at least we are on the same page about your likes and dislikes!
Trials are typically scheduled 1–3 months before your wedding day. However, if you're unsure of your look or planning around another event (like engagement photos), you can schedule it earlier.
It will depend if Desirée or Mikaela are doing your services. All trials by Desirée are performed in-salon on Main Street Hyannis, MA. All trials by Mikaela are held in Hanover, Ma. Trial appointments are available Wednesdays and Thursdays by appointment.
Please bring: Inspiration photos of hairstyles or makeup looks you love Any hair accessories, veil, or jewelry you plan to wear A white or light-colored top (similar to your dress) Photos of your dress for reference (if you’d like)
Yes, please arrive with clean, dry hair unless otherwise discussed. A wash and blow-dry service is not included unless added ahead of time. If your hair is damp or requires blow-drying, an additional fee will apply.

    Amazing bridal hairstylist

    I truly cannot say enough amazing things about Desiree! From the very beginning, she was so clear and helpful about everything I needed to do leading up to the wedding, even down to little things like how to wash and prep my hair beforehand. I never felt like I was guessing or worrying about whether I was doing something wrong. On the wedding morning, she was absolutely incredible. She fit right in with all of us immediately—joking and laughing with my girls, my mom, and my mother-in-law—and made everyone feel so comfortable. It honestly felt like she was just another part of the group, while still being so professional and keeping everything running smoothly. Having someone with that kind of calming, fun energy around me made my morning so much less stressful. And of course, my hair came out absolutely beautiful. She listened to exactly what I wanted and made me feel so confident and beautiful on such an important day. Desiree is not only incredibly talented at what she does, but she is also genuinely the kind of person you want around you on your wedding morning. She made the entire experience easy, fun, and stress-free, and I’m so grateful she was part of such a special day. I would recommend her a million times over!

    Bridal Party!

    Desirée was beyond amazing!! She was so much fun and was with us throughout the entire getting ready process and was the perfect addition to it. She was super accommodating and gave each of the girls exactly what they were looking for! Would ask her to come back for any future events in a heartbeat!

    Wonderful to work with!

    Desiree and Mikeala were so wonderful to work with. They made everyone look beautiful and the vibes were immaculate. Desiree was great at communication the whole time, respectful of our wishes and executed our vision flawlessly, and I had a great time being in her chair. Really can't recommend her enough!

    Desiree Filkins was a gem!

    I was thrilled with the services provided by Cape Cod, New Hampshire, Nantucket, Rhode Island Bridal & Event Hair and Makeup for my wedding day. From the very beginning, their communication was incredibly thorough and timely, which helped put me at ease during the wedding planning process. I scheduled a trial for just hair and on the day before changed my mind to do both hair and makeup. Desiree rolled with it and fit me into her schedule. I had some issues with the makeup application on my trial and she and I talked through different options to help solve the problems. On the day of, the quality of her work was truly excellent - Desiree was so kind, easy going and willing to work with any ideas I threw at her, even offering her honest feedback when she thought something might not work as well. With everything we talked through with makeup, the day of my wedding we decided to use some of my makeup and some of hers and it worked flawlessly! Her attention to detail and collaborative spirit were greatly appreciated, and the final look was absolutely perfect. Desiree is also so calm and has such chill vibes which really helps on a day that can be full of stress and anxiety. I couldn't have asked for a better hair and makeup stylist to help me look and feel my absolute best on my wedding. Highly recommended!

    Wonderful

    Cape Cod Bridal & Event Hair and Makeup by Desirée & Mikaela were wonderful to work with. They were very responsive throughout the planning process and made the entire experience seamless. When our other makeup artist had to cancel at the last minute, Desirée came in and saved the day. She did an amazing job on our makeup and was so easy to work with. I can't say enough great things about this team - they truly contributed to making our special day perfect.
