Professional and bi-costal makeup artist Sarah Holland offers luxury makeovers for brides and their wedding parties. With over ten years of beauty and bridal styling experience, as a license in esthetics, Sarah has the skills and passion to bring your wedding vision to fruition. Sarah doesn’t believe that makeup should be a mask, her signature style is “naturally enhanced” and soft glam, making sure that you feel like the best version of your authentic self on your wedding day.

Sarah Elaine Artistry offers pre-wedding hair and makeup trials to help ascertain clients’ personal tastes and preferences. On the big day, she can complete everything from airbrush cosmetics to tattoo coverage and false-lash applications. Her hairstyling repertoire includes chic updos and boho styles. She provides on-location beauty services, so you can enjoy the preparations in comfort, surrounded by your nearest and dearest. This talented individual also offers men’s grooming services. Sarah prides herself in going the step above and providing personable, passionate service in every step of the process!

Not to worry! While the artists of Sarah Elaine Artistry are capable of full glam looks, we specialize in natural, enhanced makeup that makes you feel like the best version of yourself. We will discuss in detail the ways you normally wear your makeup, compare your inspo photos to your facial features and create a style that flatters you the most. A trial is the perfect way to ensure you are happy with your makeup look. Here we can make as many adjustments as we need to create exactly what you’re envisioning.
Of course! The most important part of being an artist is to understand the differences between skin tones and types and feel confident prepping, color matching, and creating a custom style based on each individual client. Our artists have experience with a wide variety of skin shades and conditions.
Yes. There is a minimum requirement of 5 makeup services (bride + 4 guests) to book Friday, Saturday or Sunday during peak season months: May-October. This minimum may or may not require the need for a secondary makeup artist depending on your available time to get ready.
Yes. A signed contract and 50% retainer of the day of total are required to secure your date. No date will be reserved until the contract has been signed and the retainer has been paid. The retainer is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Our artists use professional quality, long lasting (often silicon based), waterproof or water resistant products. Many of our clients contacted us back saying that their makeup lasted 10-14 hours without any touch ups needed! Our artist will do everything they can to prepare your skin and finish your makeup in a way that ensures longevity, however we do like to remind clients that makeup responds differently to each person's skin and results can sometimes vary.
We prioritize maintaining a stress free and enjoyable getting ready experience on your big day! We allot 45 minutes per service for guests with a 5 minute break in between to properly sanitize brushes and reset our station. The bride received a 60 minute time slot as close to the end of the getting ready process as possible. Please note that additional services such as individual lashes, hair extensions, blow dry services or Hollywood waves require additional time.
Yes! We are very familiar with how a wedding day looks and we would love to help you feel more comfortable by coordinating the day-of schedule. We will collect details such as the number of people requiring services, what time everyone needs to be ready by and if photography is arriving for getting ready photos. Should you choose to book Sarah Elaine Artistry for makeup and a separate artist for hair, we are happy to coordinate the schedule with your hair stylist so that everything runs smoothly.
We will travel as far as you need us to! We most commonly travel to Washington DC, Arlington, Baltimore and Ashburn. Travel over 2 hours may require additional travel charge and overnight accommodation.
For your safety it is pivotal that the person you hire for your hair and makeup is sanitary. We have been professionally trained and certified in sanitation with the knowledge of how to keep our clients safe with properly cleaned tools and products. Tools and brushes are cleaned with salon grade brush cleaner between clients and sanitized with 70% alcohol. All eyeshadows and powder palettes are also sprayed with 70% alcohol and allowed to fully dry. All cream products, liquids and mascaras are applied with disposable tools to avoid any cross contamination.

    10/10 would book again!

    Sarah is THAT GIRL! I had the absolute best experience with Sarah as my hair and makeup artist for my wedding! I booked her last minute, and she was so accommodating and flexible throughout the whole process. From the moment she arrived, her energy was just incredible—good vibes, warm, and genuinely excited to make the day special. She’s incredibly detail-oriented and really takes the time to understand your vision. Not only did she nail the look I wanted, she made the entire getting-ready experience fun, relaxed, and memorable. She is incredibly knowledgeable, explained everything she was doing, and from the preview to the final look, she was SPOT on with any adjustments. She understood the assignment. period. I couldn’t imagine my wedding day without her. If you’re looking for someone talented, professional, and just downright awesome to have by your side, Sarah is the one. Highly, highly recommend!

    Sarah and her team were incredible! She was able to take an entire pinterest board of renaissance/fantasy ideas and pull it into a dream wedding look. She is highly receptive to feedback, fun during the getting ready portion of the day, and was a superhero with solutions when a piece of my wedding outfit broke. I looked and felt beautiful, and my bridesmates were so pleased with their final looks. As someone who had a lot of trouble figuring out what I wanted, it was literally magic to see that final evolved form.

    The BEST!

    Sarah and her team were the absolute best MUAs I could ask for! It's hard enough to make natural/minimalist makeup last on a normal day let alone a wedding day but my makeup looked flawless till 2am, even through tears, cheers and tearing up the dance floor. All my bridesmaids, my mother and mother in law looked so beautiful and stated it was the best professional makeup they've ever had. Sarah was prompt, professional and just FUN to work with, she shared in all of the giggles and gossip with us while we were getting ready!! Can't recommend enough.

    Sarah is AMAZING!!

    Do not miss out on booking Sarah for hair and make-up!! I had a trip with a different HMU company and wasn’t happy with it and I was so fortunate Sarah still had my wedding day opened because I had constantly been going back to her website and knew from the beginning I should have booked her initially! It worked out anyways! She is amazing at what she does and my make-up and my bridal party’s make-up was absolutely stunning on my big day! It was humid on my wedding day and I was on the dance floor all night and my make-up stayed perfect for 12 hours!! Sarah is super cute and friendly and so fun to work with! I’m so glad I found her! You will not be disappointed so book her ASAP!
