Meet The Artist A Syracuse University Dean's List graduate in Cultural Anthropology, Alexandra is the owner and founder of Henna Art ALS, established in 2016. With a passion for cultural exchange, she worked as an English teacher in Maadi, Cairo, and studied in Northern India in 2017. Specializing in traditional henna styles from the Middle East and Mehendi designs from South Asia, she brings artistry and heritage to her work. A proud Muslimah since 2018, she continues to blend creativity and tradition through her henna designs.

As a professional bridal henna artist I only use 100% organic handmade henna paste. I source my henna powder from a farm in Rajasthan India during harvest season. Stored in the freezer, I mix my paste fresh for each appointment. Ingredients: Henna powder, eucalyptus oil, sugar, water

At least 3-4 days before the date you want it to look its best! Henna takes 48hrs to fully darken to its darkest color!
You cannot get the area where the henna has been applied for 24hrs after application to ensure the darkest color. You must shower before the time of your appointment.
For the stain to develop into its darkest color you must keep your arms and or feet warm (with a heating pad). In the winter months you must stay indoors for the first 24hrs to keep warm after application.
The stain can last up to two weeks. But it comes off with exfoliation of the skin. Using non water based moisturizers, and wearing gloves while cleaning will help keep it looking good longer.
