I wish I could give them 10 stars!!!

Crazy Dutchman Catering was an absolute hit at our wedding! Their communication throughout the planning process was quick, helpful, and professional. The quality of their work and value was unbelievable - the food was simply delicious. The chicken and waffles were to die for, the shrimp and grits were perfect, and the BBQ with pimento mac n' cheese was chef's kiss! My guests can't stop raving about it. The staff was extremely efficient and friendly, going above and beyond to serve the guests. The lines to get food were short and everything was hot and fresh. I would recommend this caterer to anybody - they provided the best wedding food I've ever had at a very reasonable price. Crazy Dutchman Catering truly cares about making your special day perfect!

The best caterer you can hire!

I have worked with Crazy Dutchman Catering over a dozen times, and they are consistently wonderful! They have an impressive variety of food covering all of the options - lowcountry classics, BBQ, and upscale gourmet options. The team is extremely helpful and professional, and they run like a well oiled machine while still providing the custom experience every couple craves for their special day. You couldn’t ask for a more amazing partner for your wedding!

No, we do not offer plated dinners or family-style catering. We offer buffet or station style service options.
Buffet service features appetizers followed by a continuous self-serve buffet line and uses 10” dinner plates. Stations style service has appetizers followed by multiple mini-meal stations and uses smaller, 7.5” plates. For more information, see our website blog about Buffet vs. Stations.
We do not hire out our food staff or bartenders.
On our menu list, each category is ordered from least expensive to most expensive.
You can still make changes to your menu and bar selection after you’ve signed a contract. Your menu must be finalized 30 days prior to your event.
Once you get to a menu and a pricing that you feel comfortable with, we can get you on our tasting calendar. We schedule complimentary tastings Tuesdays through Thursdays between 11am and 4pm. Our tasting room can accommodate up to 4 people. Tastings last 45 minutes to an hour. The tasting menu will consist of your current menu included on your quote or contract. Our kitchen staff prepares tasting food based on your specific menu. We typically need roughly two weeks notice to schedule a tasting.
Once we send you a contract, it will have a payment schedule listing any upcoming payments for your event. We will also email you a reminder at the beginning of the month in which your next payment is due.
Initial deposits and final payments are exempt from credit card or ACH processing fees. Scheduled deposits, due on the 15th of the month, are subject to a 3% credit card processing fee or a 1% ACH processing fee.

Crazy Dutchman Catering provides chafing dishes, sterno, and serving utensils unless noted on your contract. We also provide hard plastic plastic and plastic cutlery. If you have contracted us for a bar or beverage package, we will also provide a build-a-bar, clear plastic cups, and ice. Crazy Dutchman Catering does NOT provide tents, rented china or glassware, lighting, or heaters.
We are primarily a wedding caterer, but we also cater rehearsal dinners, welcome parties, corporate events and meetings, birthdays, holiday parties, oyster roasts…any event or occasion you can think of! To see more on private event catering, see our blog!
Yes, but it’s best to check with us before you order anything so we can ensure you are providing the correct sizes and quantities for your event.
The cost of the China plates, flatware, and glassware are not included in the quote/contract. These items would be added by you or your coordinator to your existing rental order for other items (i.e. guest dining tables & linens, chairs, etc.). Streamlining all rental items into a single order saves on duplicate delivery fees and helps meet the required order minimums. Often, these food rental items alone do not meet the order minimums set forth by the local rental companies. If you’re undecided on whether you’d like rented plates or disposable, see our blog for the pros and cons!
We use white, hard plastic disposable plates and silver-colored Reflections cutlery. We will send you a picture of the plates and cutlery when we send you a quote.
We do not make wedding cakes since we do not have a pastry chef on staff. We would refer clients to any of the local bakeries that specialize in wedding cakes.
Yes. We do offer late night snacks. Options vary depending on length of event and budget.
For the cake cutting service and additional cake plates, forks, and napkins, it's $1.25 per person. If you do not need cake plates etc. and just need our staff to cut the cake, we charge $0.25 per person. We are NOT responsible for moving wedding cakes or setting up dessert displays, but our staff will help replenish dessert displays.
Yes! We offer it by the urn ($25/urn) or for the duration of your event ($1.50/person).
Yes! We can set up a table with bottled water or iced tap water in dispensers as a pre-ceremony water station. We charge $35.00 to cover the cost of ice, bottled water, and plastic cups. We will bring potable/drinkable water to your venue if needed.
Yes. We charge a $25.00 water goblet service fee for our staff filling the water goblets prior to the start of buffet/station service. This covers the cost of the potable/drinkable water, ice, and water pitchers to facilitate the filling of the goblets. Depending on the complexity of your event or your headcount, we may need to add on an additional staff member.
Our contracts are rain or shine. Our staff has experience working in all kinds of weather. We always recommend having a rain plan, just in case. Depending on the venue and the time of year, we also recommend renting a tent. If you don’t have a tent, the food and bar will need to be set up under some kind of covering. If your wedding is during the Charleston hurricane season (June - November), see our blog for more tips and information!
The catering team assigned to your event will arrive roughly 2 hours before your event start time.
We do not need access to power and we only need water for large oyster roasts.
Our staff wears black polos and black pants/skirts for most events.
We offer small discreet signs to identify the food items.
On full service events (not delivery and setup), our staff will clear and bus tables throughout the event.
If the venue does not have an onsite dumpster and requires all food and beverage trash to be removed at the end of the evening, a trash removal may be added to your quote/contract.
Our staff is unable to wash, rinse or dry rental or personal dishes. Our staff will scrape and re-rack dirty dishes for pickup as required by the local rental companies.
