From our first conversation with Rosemary & Rye, we knew we had found our caterer. The team was responsive and easy to work with throughout the entire planning process, and on our wedding day they showed up ready to make everything perfect. Their lead was so thoughtful that she even helped me bustle my dress during the reception. The beef brisket biscuit appetizer was the absolute star of the show, literally my grandmother is still trying to duplicate the recipe! Everything ran on schedule, the water service was seamless (very important with the Charleston heat), and our guests have not stopped raving about how delicious the food was. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and we highly recommend Rosemary & Rye to any couple looking for a caterer that truly cares.

We cannot recommend R&R enough! From the moment we started planning our menu, the team was accommodating and attentive. At our wedding, they truly outdid themselves. The short ribs were perfectly cooked, melting in your mouth with each bite. The salmon was equally impressive, seasoned to perfection with a crispy skin. Our guests raved about the food all night, and many asked for the caterer's details. The presentation was stunning, and the service was seamless and professional. They played a huge part in making our special day unforgettable.

Worst Catering Experience

I am beyond disappointed with my experience having rosemary and rye as my wedding caterer at Magnolia Plantation. I originally selected them as my caterer since they were the most responsive of the preferred caterers and we had a great tasting a year prior the wedding. After the tasting the communication was basically non existent and even more difficult to have someone at their office to pay my amounts owed on time. I asked them when this was happening if this was a reflection of what would happen on my wedding day and they assured me it would not. The day of the wedding they did not use the custom napkins even though they were asked twice, my husband and I were only served one of the hors d'oeuvres out of three with none of them set aside at the table as discussed, salads were not preset on time and this is something rosemary and rye talked me into doing to ensure we had plenty of time for dancing, first course and entrees were served in a hour and 45 minutes for 87 guests when the entire meal was expected to be a hour long, THE SHRIMP AND GRITS WERE SERVED WITH MARINARA SAUCE although it should have been a white wine sauce we tasted(on accident apparently), served a guest with a severe allergy that was discussed ahead of time twice the wrong dish three times, refused to feed my vendors until after we were fed causing us to lose time with our band and photographer, served our vendors leftovers that did not meet their dietary restrictions rather than the full meals I paid for, did not serve our cake as discussed and later found them about to throw out my whole wedding cake instead of boxing it up, never received a to go meal for the bride and groom as discussed, I paid for 7 servers and only had 4, their event lead was working in a tank top with bra straps hanging out at my black tie wedding, etc. The whole experience was beyond a disappointment and I brought this to the owners attention immediately the next day. He worked through things with me and I was slightly compensated but not nearly enough. Especially for me not receiving the items I paid for and my guests being served non edible shrimp and grits. Now I hear they are telling staff I am a Bridezilla when they are the ones that did not live up to the contracted services I paid for.

Absolutely fantastic! I threw a surprise 50th birthday party for my sister and Rosemary and Rye catered for us. Everyone raved about the food and it was delicious. Very generous portions. We had the short ribs, chicken, piccata, broccolini, roasted potatoes, Caesar salad and a mix of small dessert bites. I can’t say enough about how delicious it was and would 10 out of 10. Recommend!

Rosemary & Rye were the food and beverage caterers for our wedding, and they were absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. We worked closely with Carly throughout the process, and she was fantastic—so helpful, responsive, and truly invested in making sure everything was perfect for our day. We didn’t even do a tasting beforehand because we were so confident in their reputation and offerings—and they completely exceeded our expectations. The menu options were incredible, and they included several fun food stations that our guests loved. One of the biggest hits of the night was the cacio e pepe pasta station served out of a cheese wheel. Guests are still talking about it—so many people said it was some of the best pasta they had ever had in their lives. The shrimp and grits and the chicken dish we served were also phenomenal and received so many compliments. Their bar service was just as great. Carly and the team were incredibly accommodating and helped us curate the perfect drink menu for our day, even sourcing a special beer that my husband loves so we could include it. Everything felt seamless, thoughtful, and high quality. We live in Atlanta and honestly wish Rosemary & Rye were closer because we would use them again and again for any catering event. If you’re getting married in the Charleston area, you will not regret working with them.
